It's not raining yet! so lets go ride some hills tomorrow (Sat) or maybe Sunday afternoon, hopefully both. Tunnel Road? Presidio? I guess we could set some cones too if any one desires. Let me know.

Our little race is blowing up!
Concourse Drive in Pearl, MS is the location, It is a slight slope with excellent surface. We will set a hybrid type course of spacing in the 7 - 10 ft. range to accomodate new racers as well as challenge the fast guys. Race is a duel format as close as possible to the FCR series.
Transistioned start ramps, Tway timing system.
$10 entry fee, money split amoung top four. More prizes donated by the fine people at Swell Sk8, Turner Downhill, Tracker Trucks, Bahne Skateboards, Longskate.com, Comet Skateboards, Vision Street Wear.
Go to: http://home.jam.rr.com/byrdz/Hills.htm for a map to the hill.
Here are some Hotels in Pearl: Best Western Inn, 257 N Pearson Rd, Pearl, MS 39208, (601-936-2060)
Econo Lodge, 232 S Pearson Rd, Pearl, MS 39208, (601-932-4226)

Ramada Inn, 341 Airport Rd S, Pearl, MS 39208, (601-933-1122) I checked this one on mapquest and it's within three blocks of the course.

I was thinking it was nice for a change today to NOT have another 90%+ day. It only went up to 88%.
Then I did a weather search on Fayetteville and saw temps from the 30s to the 50s. Shiver me timbers....who`s bringer the `lectric wheel warmers??
Oh, and light chance of rain too...

The weather has taken a turn for the worst. Light rain has been falling since 4pm. Doesn't look good for racing.
How about a few pints!

This is NOT definite. But possible. IF: it’s not raining IF: the surface is dry IF: Paul and Martin make it on time AND are willing to skate IF: Jani gets back from his business meeting early AND is willing to skate. Approximate BEGIN time: 9:30-10 PM Come see how good these Euros are on our all-American 5.5 and 6 ft 48-cone courses. Stay tuned, there will be an update as the night descents upon us (stop by around 9PM, I will get some info by then). Tomorrow night looks good, but Jani leaves for Paris in the afternoon. Vlad.

Quick Weather Update:
Today's revised weather shows the rain now STARTING on Sunday instead of Friday. With a little luck it'll keep moving on and be a later day as the week progresses.
Oh, that rain also includes SNOW. Y'all stay tuned.

Allrigh folks, I took upon myself to make a dry run of the "course" for Saturday's Brodway Bomb race in New York. Here's the scouting report: Most of the pavement along the way is pretty good for New York street standards. There are however the standard issue hazards like subway grates, man hole covers, and those big metal plates they put over holes in the road. The toughest part of the ride will be from roughly 62nd street till just below times square as there is a TON of traffic both of a pedestrian and automotive nature. We will surely have to stop for a few seconds here and there to allow cross traffic to pas and to avoid hitting people but it should be fine. Again, bring the big brass ones to this show and a helmet would help too. I'm super stoked about this event, hope to see as many of you east coast boys and girls there at noon. Late

I had a thought, have a novice class or something where it works like drag strip racing. Like, there is a minimum time, and if you go faster than it, you are disqualified. Or is that a stupid idea?

I am proud to say that I took my free energy swill (Red Bull), and stood in front of the cameras by the start gates. When the camera would sweep by, I would take a nice drink and twist my face into an expression of disgust. Product placement, yippie!
And that kid with the red cast was crazy. He should have taken home the thousand bucks.

Mark Saturday Oct 26th in your calanders... real good chance that we'll have a pro rider from both carveboard and freebord (with some demo boards) up here in the Antelope Valley for the Skate-off! Open House.
We'll be meeting on a hill in the Juniper Hills area of Palmdale.
If your interested in trying out the snowboard cross-trainer boards, getting some tips from some team riders, or just watching... shoot me an email! There are some pretty sweet hills to carve an bomb too! HR
