Low-J will be riding my slalom board in MS... besides, at this point, if I'm gonna drive 8hrs to skate, it'll be to Louisville for some full-pipe action! then if I ever practice and get decent at slalom, it might be worth travelling to race... p

GBJ v. BoBo???

Do me a favor, guys... don't EVEN compare your paltry, low-three-figure bet with what I did to BoBo. Better yet, why don't you just leave me and my name out of your petty squabbles altogether? In the meanwhile, as a curious spectator, I know what I'd like to see. Bet a paycheck! Bet thousands. Hang something out over the line. $100 isn't even an evening of fun in Atlantic City or Vegas! I wanna see a race with some REAL stakes! Otherwise, in the larger scheme of things, your little race doesn't really mean anything to anybody but the two of you.

Bokonon - The banks are 6 feet tall and 21 feet long with a 60 degree angle. They are designed to be carved, big time. The road is smooth and nice. If you have any questions send me a note.

It's been 20 yrs since my last snake run- yet I am still considering going to Propect park (at 7AM!?)for this event. Can anyone tell me what to expect? What is a "center point bowl angle of 60'" mean? If the banks are 20ft long it would seem they would be designed to carve them. Why then 2ft of vert on a 6ft high bank? I'm picturing a curved bobsled run. What gear will I use- I mean besides all my pads and my health insurance card...

Thanks to everyone who organized this run- What an epic idea. It was great for me to see that you can get down in the city too. I'm up north about an hour away and there are many sweet newly paved hills to carve. Anyone interested in venturing up here(Putnam Valley) drop me a line-It's worth the trip. Again what a concept- Punk Rock, Viking Style- Geat run. See you next time.

ok - just got back from the 8mile nyc broadway bomb 2002 from 110 st to the bull at the end of broadway. ok - first things first: there ain't NO DOWN in "down broadway"! more uphill than down, but still awesome - fresh tar and downhill from houston street to canal! about 20 skaters with all sorts of rigs - lots of gravitys, my bozi, couple customs, sector 9s, 3 landy chiefs! Red Bull and Randall were in full effect and there were photographers all along the course. oh, did i mention this was outlaw and with traffic? all was well until we ran into the korean day parade at 41st street! some went thru, some went around.
they held traffic at the start - i can imagine the sight of 20 longboarders with whistles, helmets, cans of red bull just kicking as hard as possible thru a redlight and down broadway prob. caused people to notice...heh.
at the end of it - Aussi Richard on a custom board with a time of 34 minutes(!) touched the bull and won the randall trucks. beating the chase car, the chase motorcycle, people on the subway. 2nd was haggy with 35 minutes and 3rd was Ian, one of the organizers.
all in all, a great time and thanks to all the organizers, members of the NYC longboarders, red bull, randall and all those cops who kept screaming "get out of the parade!!" and to the German tourist who decided that looking thru the viewfinder of his video camera was MORE important than looking in the direction of traffic while crossing a street - sorry about almost taking you out and instead running up on the curb and do a flying bail into the gutter to avoid you.
cheers! steve (yes, jeff bozi - there is now blood on the hognose...i think it's mine)

Let me put this in perspective for ya wesley.
It was probably at Folly Bch where you got a hard on for me. Probably at the time I told you to stop acting like a dick. Ring a bell? I was replacing cones and you tan up on me and screamed in my ear "WATCHIT". And you kept running through and knocking cones down with out replacing them.
You WERE acting like a dick.
Now I don`t need to explain myself to you but where were you at The Finale of `01? LCO `01? How`s about King of Kona `02? Yeah, that`s where I fractured my rib at. Ever have that happen? Let`s see? That`s about 5 weeks prior FB. And tryong to make it through that lame course you set out on a 36" board, I fell again stuffing a cone and the rib was hurting all over...done racing. I know know, you could male the course clean on your ICK but not on a longboard asit was s`posed to be a "Worlds Longboard Slalom" race. Yeah, and less than half qualified AFTER the course was modified.
So Wesley, do us all a favor and keep your pompous ass home.
As for not participating in the rest of 2002? I was laid off november 11, 2001 and decided to get licensed and start my own buisness. My board expenditure for 2002 was for the ROE Bonita ONLY and had purchased 6 decks in 2001 along with assorted trucks and wheels.
Traveling expenses since sept 9 `01? probably about $4K (even after I had no income after LCO `01.
So puss out Wes and stay home...good riddance!

i'm sitting here at my in-laws house trying to time my departure to avoid the homecoming traffic of blacksburg, virginia and the re-opening of the bridge into fayetteville
rain?
big deal
so what?
we had a tropical depression attend the georgia race, but that was the only thing that was depressed!
folly beach provided a midnight slalom showdown that i will never forget
if you can't make it, there's never any hard feelings - we're all family here
but you can't win if you don't show up!
as 2002 wraps up, i'm already planning out my calendar to include attending races in breckenridge, morro bay, folly beach, south florida, georgia, boston, da'farm, gaithersburg, mississippi
cabbage - save me a beer, i'll be there in a few hours!
and to all the loyal readers of ncdsa - thanks for reading my rant and putting up with all my sh*t over the past year
mark me [west virginia bound]

p.s. - hope to see all of you in MISSISSIPPI next weekend!
