LBK...snowboarding sounds like a good option. I'm up for it. Looks like we may have to postpone the Outlaw race until next weekend. I am looking at about 6 inches of snow outside my office window and it is still falling. Without a big increase in the temps it is very doubtful the course will be dry.
I'll keep an eye on the conditions and keep everyone posted on this forum. Right now it looks bad.
However I’m still having a party Friday night at my place. There will be plenty of refreshments. And the “Rainey Daze” and “Da Farm” video will be playing on the tube. It will be a blast. Email me for directions.

Looks like we are snowbound today/tonight. What is the status of the DC Outlaw race this Saturday? Think the snow will melt in time? If not on Sunday, John Dillion & I are heading up to Whitetail to rehab John's ankle, dial in some new equipment, and teach some of the DC Crew how to snowboard. Lift ticks are cheap this weekend.

Anthony,
Yea I bet there will be alot of grabbing going on. Grabbing for first place. Go to Venezuela and represent for us. It will be worth it. Just use the cast as a slide glove.
DR
PS, you guys were ripppppping it up last weekend at Front Royal, VA.

Just got back from the doctor and my wrist "sprain" turns out to be two broken bones and possibly torn ligaments. I'm in a cast and am fairly well protected at this point. I'm wondering what the Downhill course is like in Venezuela. If it's a lot of grabbing and sliding I'm probably out. Otherwise, I might make it. Leo, please let me know as soon as possible.

Just wanted to thank Rudy Project Eyewear for spondoring the Stand-up event at Front Royal. They provided shades and other gear as prizes. Thanks to the organizers and the other racers, especially team "KebbeK".You guys absolutely rock, and your pretty good riders too! Everyone should mark Memorial Day Weekend on your calender as Bob and Neil are sure to improve and expand on an already awesome event. Also congrats to Doug Dupin on the birth of his due-any-day son Max! Future ripper!

Kim, Bob and I would like to thank all who made it out to join in the fun (and snow! Oh yeah, and hail! And rain!). The weather threatened us with disaster but never really caused a problem. We had a small drizzle of rain that at one point turned into snow flakes then hail. All were short bursts that did wet the course and make it slippery but alas the sun popped back out and the course dried back up (no, it did not warm up, just dried the course)
The racing was tight and good competition throughout all the classes. All racers gave it their best while racing as safe as possible, only one sprained wrist as a result of the days racing!
It was a pleasure to see all of you again and I look forward to seeing you again at the races next season.

Front Royal-awsome race

I was proud to be part of this sucessful event. This was my first race, i learned a lot. One thing i learned: Don't follow a pro going all out on a timed run (streetluge), If he wipes out because he is pushing the envelope, u will too because u are trying to match that speed. I ended up flying over the haybails and landing on my back 15 feet away. I pinched a nerve in my spine and still can't feel my right pointer finger. That was only practice. When it came time to race, right after i completed my first heat i had a full body cramp (very painfull i may add), i found out today it was a reaction from the pinched nerve, i still had to make 3 more runs. I was just trying to hang on. Even though my phyisical strengh let me down, i HAD A BLAST ALL DAY. There is no better group of people to race with. It was a beautiful hill and the event went flawlessly. I asked Darren Lott if i could run with him in a practice run, i learned a lot. I was proud to run with him, he is awsome. He has the fastest peice of wood on the planet. IN THE END I WAS PROUD TO JUST BE THERE. p.s. thanx Dave G & Vlad for cheering me on

a windy november day forced us to double up cones, though we still managed to set a basic dual lane course with 6.5' - 8' centers
we even managed to draw a few newschoolers out of concrete and onto the asphalt to give slalom a try
looking forward to another session in december!!!!

Well... I would like to offer my sincere apologies to Bob Swartz and those slalomers who are, even at this moment, attending the Front Royal race and were expecting me to set the course. Unfortunately, my car began overheating about half the way out there to Front Royal, and I've only just arrived from nursing it back here to Gaithersburg four hours later. All things considered, today seems like it's going to be fairly nice (not too cold) weatherwise, so I hope everyone has a good time.

Yes Free for spectators. But just a few words. We have no accomidations for spectators. This event is a designed as a test for a much bigger deal next year. We invited potential sponsors and marketing people to see what we do in hopes they are sparked with ideas for the big charity event. YOu are welcome to come, but please stay off the road and only cross where there is a course worker with a flag. None of the gravity racers make noise coming down the hill so there is no advanced warning that you are about to get cut off at the ankles. IF you show up after 8am you will have to wait for up to 15 minutes for the road to open so you can park at the top of the hill.
see you there bob
