too bad only 2 longboarders showed up'd it was super sick. you guys got to come out to this ride i was told it will happen again in two weeks. they took us on the "N" muni light rail and we got a FREE lift to the top. we hit a super mellow carving hill called kirkam then we went over to ortega st. that hill was super steep at the top then mellowed out so it was sick for hard fast carves.
it didn't rain for 3 hours so it was deffinatly worth it. you guys should come out and represent the LBr's.

Wilder,
GO FOR IT!!!!
This was my first race in 2001 and I learned so much from talking with and watching the pros.
This event will be two days worth of riding and that alone will be worth it. Where about would you be coming from? DO you live in the Northwest?
Let me know, training on the hill has already begun and you can always join in.

so im thinking of racing at maryhill this summer. it would be my first race. i know ive got the skill'z to go down the hill, but im not sure about racing skillz. the entry price alone is pretty good incentive to not get knocked out the first heat.
anyways, my question is for anyone who has raced maryhill before. do you think it would be a good first race?
thanks for the advice

Well this year there was quite a lot of spectator(not 2000 but around 100...) And it wasn't raining... i agree that the pavement is not fantastic and that it is a quite easy run but it's still fun... The main problem with IGSA events is that they are expensive... but it's the same thing for all those events so ...

the problem with the Gravity fest is they always hold it in september and "EVERY YEAR" it rains... And besides the event is not organized enough for rain to hold things up... It always ends up being a SHAT SHow.... No spectators ever show up and the event is not advertized at all.. if it is its not getting out to the general public or they just don't seem to care... I think its a combo of the rain making spectators not want to show up and get soaked waiting and waiting for it to clear up and the fact no one ever hears about it...
If the gravity fest wants to go off hold it in august at least....

i know some years, IGSA has 2 years at mclaren park, one being the "US National Championships" and one being the "SF gravity fest"...same thing pretty much...dunno if thats what you are talking about...
I wish IGSA would pick a better for a a race in SF, i mean, that hill is easy with only one turn, and the pavement sucks.
