Sonoma County Garage Racers?

There is a good spot in downtown Santa Rosa which is closed to cars on sundays. It could be perfect for an outlaw race if I had some racers to play with. I was thinking that a few slalom cones tosed in to keep the speeds/safety in check would possibly work well at this site. I was thinking wide open fast sweeping ones as the garage is WIDE when empty
Any locals, or not, that are interested? If I get some responces then maybe early to mid January to give it a try.
I skate there with some regularity and haven't been kicked out in a long time, it even has an elevator to the top! Anybody? Anybody? mail me at roundwallrider@yahoo.com

Myself and a friend want to organise a downhill event, we have never done it before but have have organised other smaller events (not downhill though) I am looking for any tips or ideas. As always sponsorship is a major issue and we think that we may have an idea - we want to sell corners to different companies (amounts pending on the corner) and they can put up as much branding as they like on that particular corner. We have spoken to the local authorities and they say that closing that particular road shouldn't be a problem. What other problems usually occur? If anyone has any suggestions or advise, it would be much appreciated!

go toClick here for link for more info Road rage Out Law racing info and rules first Race DEC 14. Warm up Dec7 Race will count for points in the Garage racing series! Road rage racing will be held on a mellow downhill road in east San Jose. Top speed will be no faster than 40 mph. This is a drafting race there are a few turns on this hill and they are all sweepers. There is enough room on this hill to pass 2 times maybe more but twice is the norm. The road is around 1mile long with an excellent run out. There are two or three other roads in the area that are also a blast. One is faster than the road we will be racing on and the other is like Hiller on steroids (I prefer to Slide this hill) 60 + with sweeping turn that at 50 or 60 MPH you will probably be sliding threw, Never done it so I don’t know. The best part is there is a great run out at the bottom and no stop signs on all the runs. Rules: Same as downhill racing unlike the parking garage! (no rules) Bring both, a fast board and a slider board MJ

Hay quadcarver would love to check out your scooter, but due to the Vans Sk8 park closing in Milpitas on the Nov 13 I suspect most riders will be at vans for the last time. May be you should meet thier you will have more shreders in one place than you will see in a long time.

Who better to give any kind of carving or downhill product a true test then the folks in this forum?
Check us out at www.quadcarver.com and then come out to the Alamdea, CA skate park on November 13th from 11am to 1 pm.
We are looking for team riders, people to really help us show off the Quadcarver. Team riders get free gear, possible cash for demo appearances, maybe even some national TV coverage as out PR campaign really takes off.
Email me at team@quadcarver.com if you have any questions.

Mico win’s Sundays race and takes lead in points totals. Sunday we had ten riders and some spectators show up, 4 new riders showed up with Chris Sullivan dominating the new bees and giving all of us a ride for are money, I would also like to crown Chris S as the new bowling ball rider, He took out a number of us. That’s the name of the game. Thanks for showing up and thank to all that came out.

Just a friendly reminder tomorrow is the first race of the parking garage racing series. We are keeping track of how racers do in each race and we will tally up your best 3 races for four months of racing, then award prizes at the end of winter . I plan on having 4 races per month, we have some sponsors who are going to throw in some goodies for us, we have Randal Design, Comet skateboards, Loaded decks and hope fully more. We will meet at my Studio in San Jose Ca 3miles from garage For directions go to: http://www.geocities.com/whstudio@sbcglobal.net/whstudio.html : Then click on directions lower right hand corner.
Studio Phone 408 287- 1843 Call any time
We will meet around 7pm and leave for the garage at 7:45pm If you need to be picked up at train or Bus station call me and I will come get you. Please do not meet at garage it will be a bust if every one just charges it with out knowing a few things about the garage. Don’t ruin it for everyone before we even get started! Thanks MJ
