Amazing is the only word that comes to mind. Robin McGuirk is now the 6-time UNDEFEATED Champion!! 15 miles in 59 minutes! David Mitchell was close behind in second. Our only out-of-state racer, Jon Huey, came in third at 65 minutes. The rest of the results are posted on the calendar.
Adam Chandiwalla won the Best Crash Award with a truck break/wheel smash under a car. He kept going as best as he could and never quit. Some guys skated back with a board so he could finish the race. WAY TO GO ADAM!!
The sponsors were very generous and everyone went home with some goodies. Many thanks to- Eastside Longboards Subsonic Skateboard Company oldschoolskateboarding.com Oddball Tattoo Next Adventure Daddie's Board Shop Rebel Skates Trini Industries Inc. Dr. Brown Motorcycle the Office Ollie's Skateshop Kronik Energy Skaters for Portland Skateparks Conspiracy Skateboards and anyone I forgot!!
Thanks to everyone who raced for giving it their all! That was NOT an easy ride. NICE JOB!!!

The race is outlawed I just found out, which I'm not used to. Really sucks for me because I was planning on doing multiple promotions for new skateboarding genres, as well as new talent search's for the sports. These genres are considered very dangerous and American laws make it a struggle. We are trying to make them see the genres in the way it really is. Not just get the first glimpse of them and consider them very dangerous.

I will be doing a couple of exhibition runs at Maryland International Raceway (MIR) Budds Creek during the Jet Wars Show on August 19th on my Jet Luge. All the Jet Cars and trucks, snowmobiles and Adrenaline Motorcyle Stunt riders will be there.
Why do I post this here? To get you to come out and participaite. I am not getting paid for this gig. I am doing the show to promote gravity and board sports to people that might not otherwise see them anywhere else. I get PRIME pit area location and many spectators come to visit my tent and get to see and try the different boards if they want.
If anyone wants to go and watch or help just let me know. You can hang your boards in my tent for viewing or give a few impromtu demos in the pits. They area captured audience folks... it is a good thing.
Also, if you have any ideas for a small sponsorship let me know... I would love to hand stuff out to the crowd.
thanks Bob www.jetluge.net PS here is a taste of what I do on the track. http://www.jetluge.net/video.html/Jetluge_Liberty_bell.MPG

Not sure where this goes, so I am posting it here:
August 12th Loretta sliding session in Oceanside. I get my wrist cast off the 11th so I want to plan a big day of skating the day after. Invitation is open to anyone. If you can make it out, plan on it. Times are pretty much open. Ideally I want to make it out there semi-early (between 10 and 11) and stay for several hours. Maybe after the session we can hit up a local park or maybe skate a ditch I know of in Carlsbad. Let me know if you can make it out. I want this to be a BIG session. Ill bring a cooler packed with Gatorades and water if any of you want. Lets do it! Definitely let me know.

August 13, 2006 Vail, CO, USA Vail Pass Outlaw DH Race $15 entry fee Entry fee covers shuttle service to top with remaining money going to the top 3 riders. Swag may also be given to racers if sponsors are located.
Details: This downhill skateboard race will run on the Vail Pass bike trail (the same course used for the 2005 Timeship Racing event). Racers will run in 4 man heats with the top 2 racers from each heat moving on. Qualifying will be chosen from an almost random selection. Racers are encouraged to provide a race/riding history for fair placement in qualifying. Racers may run as many wheels/ trucks as they like. A DOT approved full-face helmet and full safety gear or racing leathers are required. Participants must sign a liability waiver before racing. Minors must have a legal guardian sign their waiver. A shuttle service will provide rides to the top of the course. The course is an almost straight drafting course. Speeds will be low 40s to high 40s.
Race will be held Sunday, August 13th at 9:00 AM. We will meet at the bottom of the bike path, which is also the entrance to the Gore Creek Campground.
Skaters looking for lodging can stay at Gore Creek Campground which is literally at the bottom of the race course. Camping is $14/ night plus $5/ car. We will be sessioning the hill all day Saturday and staying at the campground Saturday night.
This race is being organized by Ian Ruppert and Nick Cecchi, of the Mile High Rollers, because of the absence of a Colorado DH event this summer. Please RSVP for the race, Contact us with questions, sponsorships, help, or requests for directions. We are currently looking for people to shuttle racers to the top of the hill. Your gas will be covered for your service. Vans are preferred, but any vehicle will be accepted. If you would like to help by shuttling racers, please e-mail us.
If you are interesting in sponsoring our event, please e-mail either Nick or Ian.

Has anyone heard of a website called bad gene pool? I was just surfing around and stumbled across it. Looks like they're trying to create some kind of NW scene? Cool concept for the 4 element of concrete, snow, dirt, and water. I found a couple events on the site that I didn't know about.

I'm going to do another set of Downhill Diva clinics the last saturday of July, August and Sepetmber - females only. Skills covered will be foot braking, slalom, sliding and basic downhill.
These clinics are outlaw/skate-at-your-own-risk, free and after 20 bodies sign-up, closed;
bring your own gear/snacks, no fear, a good attitude.
Pass the word to those willing in the San Diego area.
