Ok donald, i think i'm on your side of this,with the correct interpretation of the pictures you put up,you put up. I don't want to use caps, that's yelling and might be considered rude he he, so i'll just say it again for emphasis,you guys put up the pics of your prototypes. When you put it out there, it's up for gossip good bad...whatever and it works for you it's interest in the product,most of the crosstalk doesn't amount to anything,some people might think pics of prototypes are a stupid thing to post ,imagine a cast chinese version going to market,in march... nah i don't think so either . So why are the pics there? if not for feedback,you just want a bunch of posts exclaiming how brilliant gog's design is and questions about where the line starts to purchase your lovely trucks. I like the pics, aber ich verde imer minne twie pfennig rine smizen,sorry if my german is mispelled,deutch ferderber.

I'll be one of those spending the winter season on testing these prototypes. I'll be working on it with the same effort as Jason did on his rear truck. I already gave input on issues you probably might not have detected at first or second glance.
A pre-prototype version of Indy-whatever-style front truck has already been used by Christoph Baumann, who will be the other man in charge of testing and analyzing the new fronts.
btw.
While you are having fun at the snowboard area, we'll be fixing the issues. Ain't you glad to see any pictures at all? ;-)

I think Frank himself could easily explain every little detail of these trucks. I talked with him a couple times, and I'm just too damn stupid to keep all of the stuff he has been talking about, of the exact tolerances, which are veeeery thin but needed..., and all what comes together. He even doesn't need us to tell him what could be perfected, as a racer and not to mention as a constructure designer working at ford, he has it all worked out, so you just have to buy them and ENJOY THE RIDE! I know some are just showing great interest, but some are just trying to be a smart ass, but thatnks for sharing.

do you guys really think we are too stupid to create something that
works,with all its features involved.
all this guessing on pics and where what could be and where not.
dince you don't have the actual drawings of the trucks in question nor
the real deal in your hands for inspection all this guessing around won't
really help or improve on anything(not that i see any points right now that
are in need of such).
the protos went through an experimental phase since day 100 of the gog truck history.they were there for a very long time.all the experiences and learning we made with the other trucks went into those.
the r&d part by several teammembers which happens now is only there to go 100% into the right direction.frank is a good skater himself-he skates world class level in his group and with all his knowledge he is very well able to construct something that works.the recent trucks being introduced by him to the market clearly showed that there is an improvement on steering abilty possible.the recalls we had were around 5%,which is not that much when you consider xxx trucks being sold.we learned from intital mistakes(yes,there were a few),corrected those parts and came up with something better in each production batch.
right now the gog trucks are the non plus ultra-whatever anybody else says.
so with all the hard work and constructing involved do you really think we would make such inferior mistakes as f.e. adding not enough holes into the sled for proper wedging?
don't take this wrong,again,just trying to show you where we are coming from.

i think i see holes, in theight places,one for sure and maybe the shadow of the next one,i see the one on the pivot side that you probabely wouldn't use. Tolerence,I would think that a pair of cnc parts would be on the ,money, for a snug fit with a smooth finnish and even if you changed the angle constantly it would take a long time for dreaded slop to appear and bolt tension would close up a thou or two of looseness.If they got loose (a long time from now)you could always assemble them with permatex or something like that.

the angles provided are absolutely enough without going into detail,please trust us on that.the trucks are already in the r&d process here in germany and are olding up fine.
the baseplates have a hollow intersection in them and by fixing the angle with the bolt you are able to compress the area encasing the sled,so there are no "open" tolerances created.everything holds up fine,even after a long period of racing and abusing.
you all ahev to wait for next season to ride these babies.if any flaws show up till then they will definitely be corrected.

ive been thinking about the design of the new gog prototypes, and absolutely LOVE the new indy/bennett style front....
however i had a few thoughts/concerns/suggestions/questions...
the prototype on the right, it looks like the holes for adjusting the baseplate angle are drilled on the wrong side of the top part of the baseplate, like they should be on the other side...if you swing the angle, it appears that the hanger will go completely vertical, and then into the negative angle range...crazy, i hope they realize this before they start production, it would be much better with them drilled on the other side to be able to adjust from a 0*(horizontal) flat angle, up to 80* or 90*(vertical) and everywhere in between
heres a little illustration to show what im talking about...the red are the current circles with the green being what should be there, a few overlap in hte middle, but i think a few more should be added, and a few less on the front taken away...
also, the aluminum baseplates are 2 pieces, im curious as to what kind of tollerances they are holding, and if after repeated use, they become "sloppy" at all, with the groove in the bottom and the "tongue" on the top part. they may use a higher quality/stronger alloy like 7075, and could possibly heat treat it, but i think an even simpler solution might be to just make the two piece baseplates out of a mild steel, and give it a light case hardening. it would not wear as much, and would provide an absolutly SOLID engagement of the two pieces...
these are just my thoughts on the subject, i am by no means an expert on the subject, but with the little experience and knowledge that i do have, i thought i would voice my concerns
cant wait till that new ts front comes out, i might have to pick one up, once i start getting into slalom more
