We're thinking of running a GRS race Sunday in the SLO area. Location hasn't been finalized, but we're considering possibilities in San Luis Obispo, Los Osos, Morro Bay and Cambria. If anyone is interested in the possibility of a race, please let me know.

We've got a speedlimit again in montana, that "reasonable and prudent" speed limit was getting people in to too much trouble I guess.

Oh well...at least they don't pick on us skaters much. :)
I'm happy with that much.

We need Dale Smith's email. Casper and I are orgnizing a Legends of Oceanside Expo and plan to have Dale be the MC.
Activities will include, among other things a vintage board contest ( with a slalom catagory) ,and a skateboard deck and products
art contest, freestyle Hall of Fame Awards, spotlight performances by various Legends, and a 'Kids of the Legends' best trick jam.
If you competed at any of the Oceanside Contests in the
'70's, we need to talk.

I would like to see all of the equipment that Meg recieved. She was very gracious after recieving the board and trucks that I sent her. I know others also helped her out and it would be cool to see her quiver. She should also send a photo of her skating.

Alan and Stevem, thanks for the calls. I was gone all week, Sunday-Friday, and just couldn't go. Had to (wanted to) spend time with Jackie and the squids, so went to church, out to lunch, and played a little neighborhood street hockey with dads and kids in the cul-de-sac. You understand. Wish I could be in two places at once, but. . .

Hope you had fun. After all that, I did set up 30 cones, only to have them blow all over the place, so doubled em up and ran 15 cones and 15 paint spots! I'll bet it was pretty darn windy at Oak street if it was this windy in the burbS!

GRASS
On 2/20/2002 JG wrote in from (151.204.nnn.nnn)

With all the talk about the G.R.A.S.S. name we probably could have gotten something else accomplished. I think grass roots is descriptive.

I think it we focus on the cross training market of snowboarding we might be able to tap into a larger market.

We could call it Snowboard Summer Training SST.

I think the number of snowboarders who would be into this exceed the number of skateboarders. Rollerblade called Inline skating "Ice Hockey summer Cross training" at first...to lure the Ice hockey market. Now Inline is a bigger market than Ice skating.

Chi-town Knuckleheads

Stevem and I will be heading over to Ramp-Rail-Roll skatepark in Mundelein from my place at 3:15pm or so today, 2/16/02. I have to take my oldest by Libertyville Highschool at 3:30, then we'll be there about 3:45 or so.

Call me at (847)903-3452 if you need add'l information. Also, if you want to run some cones down my street prior to heading out, let me know that, too. It's starting to dry out!

Ramp-Rail-Roll is in Mundelein. Take the tri-state tollway north to Townline road (Il 60) go West/Right to Butterfield Road (which is past Milwaukee Ave/IL 21 and past Hawthorne Mall). Turn North/Right on Butterfield until you see a "CarStar Collision Center) on the corner of Butterfield and Campus Drive. Turn Left/West on Campus Drive, you'll see RRR down a little ways on the left, like the 2nd or 3rd drive.

Hope to see you then!

ISSA is under reconstruction with a new approach of the world slalom scene and a big respect for all the US and UK work since 2000.
The data base of ISSA coordinators is refresh.

The world slalom data base is on the way and i hope SLALOM ! Magazine will be back soon, with the Jani's benediction !
You'll can also read soon the Jani's interview...following by Gianluca FERRERO and Gianmarco LUCA, just before CATALINA.
