Hey riders,
as we know competition is a little part of our sport, and we basically are free riders who are looking for good close roads and fun,
we've decided to organize a new kind of events, made for everybody.
These kind of events will born in europe next year, their name will be "riding jamboree" as i'm the main organizer i can confirm their
happening.
What will happen ? A road of at least 2 miles will be officially closed and seriously secured we'll have sponsors for beverages (without alcohol)
and t.shirts, their will be lifts by bus if it's possible by another road than the main slope and the brands will give us a lot of dotation
to win on a free lottery. It'll be possible to test a bunch of boards, wheels, trucks etc....
That's not a joke and we already have a confirmed date for september 1-2 (2000)
We'll also manage for ship accomodation for the riders.
At night there will be a giant BBQ and a big party.
I'll try to find good chicks too...
The entry fees are not expensive and are just to pay the insurances, maybe 10 bucks (max.)
I'm waiting for you guys...
Remember there is no COMPETITION but you can do slalom, downhill, ramp etc....

How do I go about forming a British Downhill Skateboard Assocition?...online web-page and even magazine.
Over here in Blighty competitions are virtually non-existent, does anyone know if the Bude Downhill is happening?
And we certainly don't have any kind of club/organisation/assocition... come on fellow Brits, sort it out!

Make mine a pint!

Hello friends and skaters,

Come join Westwood Sports Club and the Gravity Racers Association at

West LA College for exciting slalom and giant slalom skating! We have

our main course on a 10% grade hill (A Street), as well as a gentle

hill for beginners, and a large parking lot for warming up. Skating

is from 10:30 to 2:30. Inline skaters, skateboarders, buttboarders,

and gravity bike riders are all welcome at all events. Helmets and

pads are required.

This Sunday, October 3, we'll have the first race of the Gravity Racers

Association (GRA) 1999 race series. This will be a slalom, with the course

set by Beau Brown. Entry is $20, and there will be some great awards!

On October 17 and 31 we'll have the traditional Westwood Sports Club

slalom skating with hinged ("breakaway") gates and courses set by

Willie and Scott. The cost will be $7 for club members, $10 for

non-members. October 17 is a practice day, and we'll have T shirts

for the first arrivals. October 31 will include the timed championship

race, with goodies like Bones bearings handed out to top finishers and

raffle winners.

November 21 will be the GRA series giant slalom race. Membership will

be required for this race and subsequent races, which will include a

downhill.

Be sure to check out the web page for directions, more details, and

updates. Feel free to contact us with your questions. And please

send us your suggestions, so we can keep improving the program.

I know theres choke skaters in Orange County as well as Southern Cali. If anyone is interested in putting together a crew of skaters who meet one to two nights a month. Let me know.... I'm mainly wanting to start it in Orange County, but everyone is welcome... by the way there are over 30 1 to 2 mile hills in south orange county, of which 10 or so are epic...were talking long, steep, wide, fresh, and minimal cars.
