wow while growing up in the south i was always tought that the civil war was about southern famers getting screwed on tariff laws in congress maybe all my history classes were wrong. ok there wrong. i thought people flew this flag in the spirit of rebelion against the system or pride for their families that fought in the war regardless of what the war was fought over. fine they are all wrong. now here is the kicker. you don't like the product don't buy the product deal!!! and i promise i won't come by your house and tell you what a piece of crap car you drive and how i hate you for buying a car manufactored in that country that bombed pearl harber deal???? you don't like it shut up and don't buy it.

thanks for the link to red clay stuff. too bad its logo is a freekin CONFEDERATE FLAG!!!! what the hell is up with that? You take longboarding (a peaceful, soulful sport where everyone is treated as equals and no one is judged) and mix it with a confederate flag--a flag who's history is rooted in a war of people killing one another for the right to enslave a person based on the color of his/her skin. Frankly, People that still fly this flag disgust me and i cringe at the sight of such a symbol of violence caused by hatred and prejudices. The people that created this flag created it as a symbol for support of legalized racism and enslavement of other human beings (no matter what skin color that is disgusting). I strongly resent the fact that you attempt to combine a sport as beautiful as longboarding with such an ugly symbol. I highly recommend that you change your logo if you hope to garner much support from the longboarding community. Lets work towards peace and understanding--not violence, hatred and ignorance. feel free to reply if you disagree.

Ya know Chuck, I knew you`s say something like that.
I also know that you aren`t a racist or anti semitic.
The devil thang though, kinda worries me (you professed that you are agnostic).
But for pure shock value, I can easily see you wearing a shirt with the confederate flag, Iron Cross in the middle, swastika in the middle of that.....and even a 666 tatooed on the back of your head.
* What`s da plan for next weeks session?

So BraDUH-You think there is gonna be a new standerd for trucks this year, that will replace the Dual Action Truck that has been the standerd for more then 40 yrs.
I'll bet you whatever amount of money you want, in the 365 days from today Feb 4 2003, that the Dual Action Truck will be the standerd still, on Feb 4 2004 I'll make you that same bet again, and so on and so on. Put your money where your mouth is. I'll go one further for ya, I'll bet you that PVD and Radikal will not sale as many trucks in the next 365 days as INDY sales in 1 month.
Again all I can say is, You wonder why the East Coast gets such a bad rap?
DUH!!!!!!!

Arab, For a non-skater that lives 3K away, you sure seem to know alot about me (Toyota truck). But your comparisons of differant vehicles and components makes for a good analogy to skateboard trucks. Before I got married, I had a `74 260 Z and a `78 911 SC. Two totaly differant rides. The Porsche rear steered (or seemed that way) and the Datsun was way out front. I spun that 260 too many times to count and the 911 NEVER broke loose unintentionally. In `87 and `88 I had two bad accidents, one work related and the other in my wifes Toyota (while the other two were in the shop) and with baby on the way, I sold them and bought a Ramcharger.
Anyhoos, back to skating, while the double bushing truck has been the standard for a long time, it is inevitable the new technology will overtake it. Maybe this year.
And to be honest, I also spent 30 seconds on the PVDs and felt awkward. Same with the Radikal prototypes. But I also felt there was potential there.

Wow that is a great idea to incorporate the confederate battle flag in with slalom racing!!! It says racism, intolerance and fast skateboards all in one wonderful logo. Can I get a t-shirt with a guy slaloming between burning crosses?

Brady-Different cars have different suspensions for instance your Toyota truck has whats called an A arm front suspension, Some Ford trucks came with Twin I beam front suspension.
VW and Porsche come with a swing axle rear end, Some cars have independent rear suspension and some have a Ring and Pinion Solid with 2 straight axles.
There is many different kind of Skateboard trucks, The standard that has been used for 40 yrs is a Dual Action truck that has a Top and Bottom bushing on the hanger used with an upright kingpin.
This is and always will be the standard.
Not sure I understand any of your nonsense of a post, since you dont know how to skateboard your questions look just like that of somebody that is confused because they dont know what they are talking about.
I will tell you this, The East doesnt need me to belittle them, you do a fine job yourself of that.
As far as the PVD's proving themselves, sure they just got a 10th and 11th place, 40 year old technology placed in the top 1-9 and 12-35
Instead of making accusations, generalizations and comments on something you know nothing about, please try and be more specific, with your questions and comments so you dont confuse yourself with the differance between a skateboard truck and a skateboard truck

Arab, Let`s put this in perspective... A car is a car and a plane is a plane...NOT!! Compare a Model T Ford with the latest Prorsche. Compare the Wright bros plane with and mordern fighter jet.
You`ve been knocking on the PVDs and yet they haven`t had the chance to prove themselves on the race circuit.
Why you knock them is beyond me.....maybe because they were made on the east coast? I can`t put a finger on it but I do know it`s a classic example of your negative attitude that is definately counterproductive to promoting the sport.

Brady-First off do you know what a dual action truck is, since you dont then you probably shouldnt be commenting on it, Come back when you figure it out. I will give you a free clue on the 30 day trial plan.
It has a bushing on the top and bottom of an upright kingpin.
Now what kind of truck is a Tracker, Indy, TTC, PVD?

Hey Arab? `splain me sometin`? you wrote... "JPL 2/1/03 40 year old technology(Dual Action upright kingpin)trucks take the top 9 spots in the first slalom race of the season, along with 30 of 35 spots.
Trackers,Indys and TTC dominate"
It seems obvious to me that this post was meant to diminish the fact that PVDs WERE used at the 1st race but were not 40 yr old technology. Since when is a TTC 40 yr old technology? What about offsets? And not the least, new wheels and decks which are definately, NOT 40 yr old technology.
C`mon guy, loosen up. This brow-beating is getting old.
Oh wait, I can`t post since I don`t skate (in cali at least) No wait, I posted me email...I can post??
Stop bullying your idealology on everyone. Sometimes you have to agree to disagree...if you`re man enough.

I remember when people had the balls to post under their own names, now we just get whiners and crybabys hiding behind a keyboard, if you dont like what I say simply move right past my post.
You have made it clear you are no different then me by doing the same as I, responding to somebody on a chat room, Thats what happens on chat rooms, people converse via the internet, if you want to cry about it, we dont want to hear about it, we are busyu doing what this board was inteneded to do, CHAT,
Thanx to Adam for providing a forum for CHAT, I think maybe he should start a whiners forum for people to complain about what other people are talking about, then you and all the other people that have notheing better to say then, "Arab you are condscending, your not a very Nice person" Dude thats old news, get with the times.

It wasn't that long ago that I used to recommend this website to friends and new skateboarders looking for good information. Unfortunately it has turned into nothing but a pissing contest. The few posts that actually have something to do with skateboarding are quickly lost in the noise of the yelling.
It strikes me as ironic that the pros who really DO win races don't feel the need to come here and pound their chests to prove how great they are (or used to be in Arab's case). When the TRUE professionals post they are usually informative and non-condescending. It's unfortunate that the some other "pros" don't understand this. And most of the TRUE professionals are more than happy to race anywhere, any time. They don't have to hang with only the "elite".
Adam has done a great service by giving us this forum. I hope he doesn't let it keep sliding towards the garbage can.

Arab: Traitor? First off, freedom means exactly that. FREEDOM. Freedom to agree, or disagree. Freedom to be right, or wrong. Or is it Freedom with boundries? Secondly, I criticized no one for dying to defend those freedoms.
I don't even really have a problem fighting for oil. Just be honest and say, "Hey world...We're gonna go blow Iraq up to keep the cost of Unleaded down". If the world agrees...go for it. Please don't insult us by hiding behind the noble cause of rooting out those who DID hurt us.
I eat animals raised for the slaughter, I drive a big American made pick up. I use plastic instead of paper, but I am honest in those decisions.
Fight for freedom? Sure, of course. Fight for oil? Sure if you've got the balls to admit that that's what it's about. If you're gonna be an ass be a proud one.
Stubbs and Arab: I apologize for my personal attack on you both, and for lumping you with anyone that could perform such atrocities.

This is a response to some moron on the Truck Forum
Um excuse me Dougy-I race in MAJOR PRO RACES for many reasons 1. Its where the competition is 2. I race for the spirit of competition not comraderie 3. I have plenty of Experiance, I dont race to gain more of it. 4. As far as Jumping to be with people, thats the very reason I choose to skate in the Major Races, Why would I want to travel to say Po Dunk Hillbilly Backwoods Nowheresville to skate against 13 guys from all within driving distance of each other, When I can go race the best the world has to offer, A racers success is only as good as those he beats or gets beatin by, I have done both, and dont take steps backwards.
I would compare it to a band that played in Staduims all over the world in front of hundreds of thousands of people, then the records dont sale as good as before and they are stuck on the national outdoor 4H fair circuit, record sales plummet some more and now there doing night clubs and bars all accross the nation to standing room only crowds of 100-200 people, then the final blow, lounge band at the holiday inn accross from the airport.
Why do I race where and when I race, because I enjoy the Challange to do good against the BEST, beyond that its all just another gathering and I dont gather I race.
I hope I never have to race in the parking lot accross from the Holiday Inn, or in the Alley behind your house Dougy.

JO: I don't hate this Country. I love it. What I hate is the John Wayne (who incidentally was a draft dodger) mentality. We can blow you up...we're better than you.
If we are so superior to the rest of the world... Why do we have one of the highest infant mortality rate of any industrialized nation? Why is our education system in the dumper? Why do children go to bed hungry? Don't go painting me into a liberal corner for those statements...I don't believe in hand-outs either. I believe in "Work-Fare"..If you can, you should work PERIOD. Pay your way.
I love my country and the ideals on which it is based...but the TRUTH is that by and large it is a FAT, LAZY, SELF-ABSORBED, GLUTTONOUS THUG.
We are not going to Iraq to stop terror. We are going to Iraq to keep driving our SUVs and "Maintain the American Way"...which means the same thing.
Remember the anthrax mail? It all came from home. Remember McVeigh? Did we round up all the redneck militia members after OKC? Shouldn't Arab and Stubbs have been the first in lock-up?

I wish somebody would have had the foresight to take out Hitler before he rained terror on all of Europe.
I'm glad that the US, Britton and all of our allies have the foresight to take out Saddam before he rains more terror on his people or uses his weapons of Mass Destruction on neighboring countrys or any of our allies in Europe or right here in the US.
I hope for a peaceful resolution, but at this point we are dealing with a liar, a killer, and a person that wants nothing more then to see that every person that enjoys the freedoms that you and I do dead.
Iraqs response to the Space Shuttles mission of humanity tragedy, "This is Gods Retribution on the US" Not even Yassar Arafat was that Calous, unforgiving or disrespectful to the familys of those lost, not even to Isreal. Not even Castro was that Cold and Spiteful.
