Dem, welcome back, Bro! You could be one of the first in your area to go long, that may be why you haven't seen any others. If thats the case then you, like many of us, may be a pioneer longboarder for your area. Represent us well, convert others to the longboard way of life. Show the soul, bro! Louies still riding long!

ROCHESTER NY LONGBOARDERS ASSOCIATION???
I started skating when I was 14 years old. Around the age of 20, I grew tired of our sport turning into a fashion thing and unfortunately I stopped........until a week ago when I wandered into Hardpact and fell in love with my Sector Nine Cloud 9.
Now I'm 25 and happy as hell I've found the carve again. It made me realize how much I really love to ride. Does anyone know of some good spots in Rochester/western New York? I'm looking for big banks to carve and some smooth hills to bomb. Some more people to ride with would be cool too. Rochester Longboarders where are you????

Yeah! this site kicks ass! I've been in the game since '76, and I'll never quit. I gotta gravity, anyone want to hook up and skate, get in touch! I'm in fairfield, Iowa, (ok, ok,) but theres a park here, and one in davenport (not cement, alas) but I'm originally from Longwood, Florida (home of the late Longwood Pipeline skatepark!) and anyone who wants to talk longboarding, or skating in general, give me a shout! Keep skatin, yeah!

Danielle, listen to Louie, he knows what he's talking about. Size does matter. Get the longest board you feel comfortible with. If you can find a shop that will let you try out a couple of different demo boards, give them a try and choose the one that feels right. I know Hamel's in San Diego does this. If not, just take your best shot. Big soft (78a) wheels also makes a difference. There are lots of different makes in the 70-76 mm range. I wouldn't go with anything smaller than 70 mm. Keep your toes on the nose,
The Gunster
