i've been skating latenight in wash dc for about a year now, anyone in the area has to check out the following: Conneticate ave down in to the circle, mass. ave. the whole damn thing!! (about a half mile ride, best if done late at night, traffic, but well worth it), also 18th street(short ride but fast!)many more, too many too list. i'm moving back to delaware in a week and im looking for people to ride w/ e mail me. final note:last spring i was bombing conn. ave. one sunday afternoon (i have the traffic lights timed, so its fairly safe so long no cars run a light, after about 4 or 5 rides i noticed a cop behind me(during a run) he turned on his lights and horns while i was riding!! scaring the shit out of me! at the bottom of the hill i stopped to see what was going on, he imediatly stopped, got out of his cruiser. i told him that what i was doing required alot of consentration and that him blaring his sirens was probly not the safest thing to do. he told me, and i quote, "are you fu--ing nuts, do you have a death wish?" i then desided to not say much more to him. he then gave me a ticket for doing 40 in a 25 (i thought wow! that fast huh?) i fought the ticket and the officer didnt show up in court. score me:1 cops:0, lucky i guess. so even though we know what we're doing, cops don't know that we do, so look out. much love to all downhillers, ride offten, ride hard, ride safe. Hawaiian talk - just so you know Hawaiians have always spoke "pidgin" - it is a dialect that combine english, portugese and asian languages -it has been spoken at least since the early 1900's. It includes "da kine" which mean "the kind" or good stuff...also "lesgo" "howzit" "brudda" and hundreds more. As for New Yorkers speaking with "da's", that stems from an Italian accent...or in modern day Ghetto speak (legitimized mispronunciation).

I was just stopped by the campus police for the hundredth time for skateboarding on campus and I'm getting fed up with it. If anyone out there has had to fight to make skateboarding legal somewhere please give me some advice. And if there are any other longboarders out there who have the misfortune of being stuck at BYU and who want to board to campus, please let me know. Yo undaground hillbomba dude. I was only kidding about racing my at my little hill behind my house. I cauld imagine some hills in Hawaii must be phat. People also underestimate Long Island's hills. Especially the North Shore. They're mad steep. I live on the South Shore where there aren't so many though. That was all a joke. And when do people from Hawaii start talking with da's and shit like that? What are you from Brooklyn, Hawaii?

Guess what?! It happened! I found another longboarder in my area. Actually I was riding my board in a parking lot and he came up to me and started asking questions about longboarding cause he wanted to get one. I let him take it for a ride and sure enough a week later I saw him riding one. He told me he's definately hooked. Also, my girlfriend's friend wants to talk to me about longboarding because she wants to get one too. So I guess your right, if it could happen in your area it could definately happen hear. Keep riding girl!

Yo, what's up? I'm from Long Island and I'm the best longboarder ever. Anyone that wants to take ME on can meet me at the little hill behind my house!! I don't even wear equipment! I'm also good at sleighriding, but I can't say that I'm the best. My friend Tom down the block is better than me. 4:00 on Sept. 18th if anyone dares to challenge my hill. We have to be quick though cause my dad thinks it's dangerous and we might get our skateboards taken away. PEACE PUNKS!!

I felt the same way you did. I go to Brigham Young in Utah and last year, I was the only person I saw with a longboard (and there were very few with shortboards). But since I've been back this year, there are quite a few guys longboarding to the campus and there was even an article in our newspaper about the growing number of longboarders. If it can happen at BYU, it should be happening every where else so keep the faith and keep boarding.
PS When I went home for the summer I was the only longboarder there too so I taught my little brothers and sisters how to do it. Now we all have our own longboards and we board together (even my parents are getting into it). So you can always help get a friend of family member addicted to boarding too.
