I tend to wax eloquent prose when I've had a few tasty Stovepipe Porters,a fine brew to quaff from a local(Vt) microbrewery. It seems to make all the rough edges in my world comfortably Fuzzy.Cheers! (This is not an endorsement of using alchohol, nor is this a endorsement of Otter Creek Brewers)

Uuuh, i went to switzerland last weekend and certainly i carried my board with me... It rained all day and i was terribly dissappointed. But now i think that was my only chance to stay alive--- these mountains and hills simply would have killed me!!! But i miss an experience... Gonna get me a blow-up rubber hill may-be...or send me some mountains that i can ride on,thank you in advance, yours forever, swiss- chocolate-easter-cat

Thats how Skateboarding should be,ubu. It's an individual sport, that can,on occasion, get organized,But it's not a fashion show, nor about the list of tricks you own. It's Freedom,on wheels,Gravity,an expression of one's own style, and the flow of balance in motion. It's Not about making the team,it's all about riding.. :)

This is my third year longboarding,, and I love it more and more for each day! It`s so much cooler than shortboarding! Longboarding is different than shortboarding because, you don`t have to learn a bunch of tricks to be accepted by the oter streetskaters! When i longboard, i don`t care about fashion.. I just ride because it`s great!

first.. dont go extreme speeds when your a newbie... second (if you do go these speeds) get some good trucks (randals) and tighen em way down.. keep a low center of gravity (bend your knees) and make sure you own a board ment for speed... other than that its just technique.. have fun.

anyone here hit ditch action? i mean, i've only skated one ditch, and that one was tiny. but damn it was fun. i could ride around with a ditch barely 2x the length of my board and love it. i have plans to dam up the other ditch by the highway, which as 4" standing water in the bottom. but it's worth it, oh it's worth it!

Laird is the man, I dig his wide stance and powerful style.
He's done a bit of extreme bodysurfing too, not many people know that ;)

Lindsay,
Laird Hamilton played a bad-guy character in a cheezy (but a must see) 80's surfing movie called "North Shore". There are other appearances from the great surfers like Occy, Derek Ho, Sunny Garcia, Tim Curran (my friend always argues about that one) Hans Heidermann, and others.
FUZZ and I are always quoting from that movie here on the NCDSA. Glad to see Larid went on to better things than acting. He's crazy-insane strap-surfing gigantic waves...plus he's dating Gabrielle Reece....lucky bastard.
(FUZZ): Think he'll teach me to big wave surf? - Not even. :)

Hey Jens,
We don't want to be reading any "Crazed Norwegian longboarder crashes while being towed behind his new moped" stories on the Crashing page, OK?

It`s confirmation now,,, and I`ll get alot of money, so I`m gonna buy myself a moped! I would probably use my money in something else than longboarding! (Here in Norway,, you must be 15 to get the license to ride a 125 cc,,,, and you can have sex by the age of 15 too!!!)

I'm not sure if you can pay C.O.D. I know here in the states, it's rare to be able to pay for anything C.O.D. (at least where I live). You'll probably want to go to longskate.com and click on the link at the bottom of the page that says "Contact".
Like I stated before, these guys are great. They'll answer any questions ya have.
Hope I helped. Keep Carvin'

Jens,
I cannot recommend Longskate.com enough! These guys are quick, and their customer service is #1. Rene at Longskate is very honest and makes sure the customer is happy. I tell anyone who is interested in longbarding about their site. I also have one of their Longskate.com stickers on my board, in case anyone asks where I got mine.
In case you can't tell from this post....they rock!
