...and of course, Bob, you're absolutely welcome at "The Gathering" as well. I suspect we'll be able to set some fairly challenging, while not totally suicidal, hill courses at this very nice state park setting.

Presumably, the next GS race will be at "The Gathering" in the D.C. area on the weekend of April 6-7, but there'll be no purse. There's not a whole lot of money floating around in the slalom world right now. Last year, Ed Economy put up one of his previously unridden Turners as an inducement for skaters to travel to the event at West LA College. Of course, as soon as Gilmour heard that he booked his flight, went to LA, and brought that board back where it belongs..., where the hardcore slalom skaters are..., The East Coast Rules!

Hope to see you at Morro Bay.

Any skaters from New zealand out there that skated the Skatopia skatepark in Auckland (1978-1982). Anyone remember Peter Boronski, Grant Macredie, Elroy Ainslie, Rodney Barnett. Check my website for old school stuff www.iceit.com.au go to the skate section and enjoy, I only trade, I am also looking to trade 70's stickers and bits and pieces.
Cheers,
Tony

Theres been a lot of shady offers around the net lately. From a link in the decks section we,ve seen direct copies of sector9 pintails and gravity hyper carves been sold, on Manu,s longskate net a direct copy of the power paw is pointed out. On e-bay it looks like someones selling the infomation Hugh has put his time and energy into making availible to everyone free of charge. What next, imitation roughcuts? The NCDSA files printed out and offered for sale?
I mean for f@#ks sake, theres nothing wrong with making a buck, or even being influenced by someone elses designs, but directly copying what someone else has done while offering nothing back, not even a shout out to the guy you ripped off is pretty lame. If your going to purchase somthing and think you can smell a rat then stear clear. I wouldn,t be suprised if we see a lot more of these types of offers in appearing in the near future.

message board personality
On 1/14/2001 k2001 wrote in from (208.30.nnn.nnn)

I am the very model of a Newsgroup personality.
I intersperse obscenity with tedious banality.
Addresses I have plenty of, both genuine and ghosted, too,
On all the countless newsgroups that my drivel is cross-posted to.
Your bandwidth I will fritter with my whining and my snivelling,
And you're the one who pays the bill, downloading all my drivelling.
My enemies are numerous, and no-one would be blaming you,
For cracking my head open after I've been rudely flaming you.

I hate to lose an argument (by now I should be used to it).
I wouldn't know a valid point if I was introduced to it.
My learning is extensive but consists of mindless trivia,
Designed to fan my ego, which is larger than Bolivia.
The comments that I vomit forth, disguised as jest and drollery,
Are really just an exercise in unremitting trollery.
I say I'm frank and forthright, but that's merely lies and vanity,
The gibberings of one who's at the limits of his sanity.

If only I could get a life, as many people tell me to;
If only Mom could find a circus freak-show she could sell me to;
If I go off to Zanzibar to paint the local scenery;
If I lose all my fingers in a mishap with machinery;
If I survive to twenty, which is somewhat problematical;
If what I post was more mature, or slightly more grammatical;
If I could learn to spell a bit, and maybe even punctuate;
Would I still be the loathsome and objectionable punk you hate?

But while I have this tiresome urge to prance around and show my face,
It simply isn't safe for normal people here in cyberspace.
To stick me in Old Sparky and turn on the electricity,
Would be a fitting punishment for my egocentricity.
I always have the last word; so, with uttermost finality,
That's all from me, the model of a Newsgroup personality.

Try living in a country where the average time served for Murder is approx 7yrs ,Where a man jailed for murder shoots & kills another man in jail and serves a total of 3 years and then plans to stand for election,where every terrorist gets 50 percent reduction in his sentence no matter how bad the crime,The Government/assembly is composed of {ex}terrorist that carry out every whim of the US & Irish governments,Where murderers get compensation for being the victims of these troubles,The Tourist take photos of murder scenes and go on the terrorist trail up the Falls road down the Shankill,where 300 dead police officers is an acceptable loss, it puts there being no skateparks or skateshops and having to buy everything mail order well down the list of problems and since we're quoting punk bands-Stiff Little Fingers 'Every Dollar a Bullet'or'Alternative Ulster'.

P.S Welcome to N.Ireland in Peace time.
Did I mention the RAIN.

I agree with the spirit of the death penalty but the real world practice of it is far from perfect. Innocent skateboarders are executed, and it is more expensive to kill a skateboarder than to incarcerate him for life. Death is often more merciful than prolonging a totured existence. If your wife and daughter are tortured, raped and killed and the skateboarder is caught in the act, what would you wish upon the perpetrator? Death, life in prison, or some fines and counselling? Do you want him to "rot" in prison? Aren't you then choosing a "fate worse than death" for this soul? Is that your idea of mercy or justice? More torture?

Aren't you glad I remained on the topic of skateboarding?

OJ demonstrated that if you have the lawyers and money it does not matter if you are white or black. I support the death penalty in general because there are people that just should not be living and do not want tax dollars spending $40K (or whatever it is up to now) on them each year.

about the elections ....
So in the US it's the man who have the less votes who win ???????
Quite funny for the bigger <> of the world...
about death penalty i stand beside JON
It looks like from many studies that death penalty in US is really not fair ...
If you are white and kill somebody eles, mostly coloured people.... you might get away with a good lawyer ...
If you are black and accused of a murder ... then you'll most likely to get death penalty..
The point I'm making here is that if someone still stand with the death penalty he should be sure that the trials are fair .... really fair because once you're dead it is forever !!!!
Don't forget hugh if you were accused of murder even if you didn't do it ..... are you ready to face death penalty ?????

Remember ONCE YOU ARE DEAD IT'S FOREVER !!!!!!

Sounds like some of you guys are complaining about the politicians you're stuck choosing from. You should see the separatist-dictator-bastards (& bitches) we have running things.It's quite extreme , and they get away with it because most separatists CAN'T speak english. They know very little about the world JUST beyond their borders because they view only what is relevant to their corner of the world or, the more educated will view things more globally, but, again not JUST outside their hood. This of course is my opion (I work for and with these idiots cuz they need an english guy to talk on the phone when someone ,in some part, of the rest of the world calls.he he) So, what's this got to do with skateboarding ? I'm trying to move my family to VT.Nice hills nice people.

The republican candidates have all been well...a bit short on the rational department and long on moralizing and emotional stances. OK Dole was an amazing guy, strong spirit, but it boils down to who does the job. Contrast these guys with bill who was a performer, a strong compartmentalized thinker...yet all critics could think of was "he lied about sex"...he sorts peace deals in middle east..."he lied about sex"...he presides agreement in N Ireland..."he lied about sex"..the balkans..."he lied about sex"..and george has only been out of the US on a holiday.
