O.K., so I've been totally sucked back in a matter of
hours! After talking to Cliff, and checking out all the cool sites with DH skating, sliding, I started in dig-up all of my old stuff.

I will scan some cool stuff and send it in for all to see.

Also, for those who were trying to find Cliff Coleman,
here is his e-mail adress. sk8fast@thegrid.net

Peace out, Jon Suzuki

As one of the "OG" B-town DH Sliders (got that?), I was
more than stoked to see the "Guru" of DH sliding, Mr. Cliff Coleman himself, walking down Telegraph Ave. in Berkeley, CA. skateboard in hand.

I was among a dozen or so skaters, who along with Cliff Coleman, Chris Pettyjohn, Lewis Woods, Jimbei Suzuki and others, were pushing the limits during the hay-day of downhill skating. I beliveve that this crew were some of, if not the first to "Shoegoo" pieces of nylon block to a pair of gloves, and bomb down the hills of the East Bay, doing what is now known as a "Coleman" slide.

Although Luge boarding has become the "media darling" of the alternative skateboarding scene, I'm thrilled to see many new DH skaters in the hills above Berkeley. I hope that more events, like the Redbull series, will catch on to how cool, and exciting Downhill
skating, and Downhill sliding can be.

I would love to see a head to head, or even better, a multi-rider "skater-cross" style event. Imagine 5 riders
flying down a hill at speeds of 35 MPH +, sliding through turns! If this ever happens, you might see me
come out of retirement to compete against the "old School" boys of DH skating!

Peace, Jon Suzuki

Albert Munoz (kneeboard surfer) was a dude who used to frequent this site a coupla years back. h0dad saw his kneeboard; was the size and shape of a bodyboard (it had a bodyboard for a deck), with a pair of super-wide 1' trucks (like off that weird snowboard skate). He could get airs in a half pipe, all wheels out. Radical!
