Paul-Al-Queda is not a country, is not a religion, it is simply a terrorsit organization, you can be from any country in the world, It is about hatred towards America its alliea and Freedom, the very freedoms you enjoy everyday, How do you feel about the Terrorist that were just arrested in England with Ricin, they planned to use it on British Milatary and civilians, What if they had set it off in the Underground/Tube, would you still feel the same about these fun loving people that are harmless? Do you think that they need a hug and some love?

Brady...

I suppose you could see Saddam's posturing as being a bit similar to a drunk who's had his lot and turns to the rest of the taproom and offers to "take all of you on!".

What else could he say? Possibly...

"when the overwhelming US forces invade, our army will throw down their weapons and surrender immediately to anyone remotely western-looking...even journalists...like they did the last time! Those that remain fighting will be shot like fish in a barrel! Victory will be ours!" (fx: cheering). ...It wouldn't play very well.

Some things that I can't explain (maybe somebody here has got the answers):

al-Quaeda seems to adhere to the tenet that Islam is a revolutionary movement that NEVER STOPS. Simply, this means Islam everywhere. You might say that they were keen on the idea of Islamic states.
Yet...Saddam's Iraq is a secular state. What's the connection? Is there a connection? Or does Mr Bush see them all as "ragheads"?

That said, wouldn't al-Quaeda/Hussein's regime be ideological enemies?.

Disregarding this...

Tony Blair, our Prime Minister, has only just started talking about al-Quaeda operatives being "guests of Saddam" -living in Iraq. Is this meant to be further justification of going to war? If so we have al-Quaeda operatives in the UK...

I thought (could be wrong) that the leadership of al-Quaeda was Saudi Arabian and may have links to the house of Saud (where the perpetrators of 9-11 Saudi? -I thought that they were...). Are we going to turn our attention to Saudi, after Iraq?

Is there any evidence that suggests a long-held emnity between the house of Saud and the tribal group that makes up most of Saddam's government?

Os is that just some far-fetched conspiracy theory?

Finally,
What's the rush? Why not give the weapons inspectors more time? They've had 8 weeks. I've just taken 12 weeks to prepare a project plan for some software upgrades for the company I work for; no-one dies is we don't deploy the software. They've had EIGHT WEEKS to find WoMD. War hinges on the outcome.

If the US (uh..."coalition") takes over and administers Iraq; where does it stop? I haven't seen a "get out" plan yet. That worries me.

I've got no answers to these. Lot's of "irritating" questions., though.

Cheers,
Paul

Should we go to war?

My answer is....I dunno?

Yes it is more than likely some what motivated by the resources in the region (oil) but is also about terrorism and weapons of mass destruction.

On the subject of the latter, just where did all that buildup of WoMD go? Did Saddam get rid of it? If he said he did and all along he fought tooth and bail with the inspectors over the last 10 or so years, where did it go? We know he had it before, why wouldn`t he still have it? And what`s with his stance now that lots of Americans will die if the U.S. goes to war with him? How will he do that without WoMD?

Exuse me for my poor English, but I need to say something.I live in Marseille, It's a big port on the Méditerraneen sea, and 3 Weeks ago there was a big US navy Boat, an airplanes carrier (porte avions in French)with about 4000 boys and girls onboard, they are very very young!
I spoke to many of them, no one can say exactly where is IRAC, and no one can say exactly why they will fight.
many of Them will be killed, and they don't even know why.
I am so sad for them.
If it's not clear for you, I will tell you: It's only for petrol.
NO WAR PLEASE.

Tom, check the Mad Bomber II at Boziboards.com. 46" long, 10" wide, concave that feels just right. Flip the hangers on the Randal RII's or put on DH's. Comes complete for only $170.00 if my memory is correct.

jonnyx-Those terrorist that had the Ricin, you know the ones they just arrested in Englund, The same terrorist that was gonna use that Ricin to kill British military personel and civilians.

I'm curious to know how you feel about these fine outstanding citizens:
Should they be set free to continue there plan to kill as many Brits as possiable?
Should they be given a better home then what they had since they are a repressed people?
Maybe they can move in with you and you can hug them and love them up, maybe you can build a white picket fence around your front yard to keep them safe.

I'm a 46yo longboard surfer and longboard skater. Being in the 240lb and 6'3 range means I'm a longboarder! What I want to build is a speedboard for my quiver. I'm thinking you know more than me about speedboards,,so instead of me building 3 or more boards before I get it dialed in. I'm askin',,,,what would you build from scratch with money not being considered? I have a few boards I like but they all speed wobble when I'm really getting into my favorite parts of hills. Got a BMW street carver,,Barfoot with Baku's,,and a few other hill carvers,,,but nothing really gets me to the speed I'm looking for.

This is what Bush and Blair see as a reality. This is what they are trying to prevent and anybody who gets in the way is playing into the hands of the mass murderers. In spite of their peaceful intentions they are playing into the hands of the villians. They want the oil to support a trans islamic world that streaches from Iran to African, a place where shoplifters het their limbs hacked off, where women are stoned to death for getting pregnant out of wedlock, and where all christians and jews are shot on sight. Maybe LBK thinks that this is a good idea. I do not.

Goes to show that the level of skating has nothing to do with the level/depth of thinking...

Scary...

John.

Whoa.
Let me record that I'm English and would consider myself to be liberal, left-of-centre. That said, I believe that Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq is cruel, mendacious and criminally irresponsible. I have no doubt that he and the Ba'ath party should be ousted and there will be little chance of it happening without the use of force: My problem is with the manner in which this work is being done and the way that the hawks in the White House are prosecuting a war with Iraq as part of a general "war on terror". I will not argue the toss over those questions here and suggest that you do the same. None of us have the facts.

However.

Overall, your arguments are emotional, light on evidence and degenerate into some pretty pathetic chest-beating. You need to read through what you've written and reconsider some of the choicer phrasing if you want a continuing dialogue on this (or any other) matter. As you know, there are plenty of people here, ready to go the distance.

For example.

"Placing your own "concience" over the best interests of your government is a childish, unpatriotic, and narcissistic"

I presume you mean "best interests of your country"? As you know, that's not always the same thing as your government. If you really do mean that, you're as much a stooge as I am!

I suggest we all give this a rest, here. The statistics show that 100% of skateboard-related discussion boards have 0% impact on US foreign policy.

3. Islamic Terror groups and their support. One month after 9/11 the man who organized the attack on the USS Cole (19 dead American sailors, 6 from California.) was tracked to Iraq where he was living as a guest of Saddam Hussain. This was established by British Intelligence, MI5. I know that the people in England will just say that Mi5 is lying, but Tony Blair, a labor prime minister, believes them and so do I. It amazes me how many people hate their country as a means of expressing their own shallow political agenda. I went to Berkeley and I've seen it for years. Placing your own "concience" over the best interests of your government is a childish, unpatriotic, and narcissistic
thing to do. That is why most Americans ignore them. As we do the British public. Thank God the Government in England is more enlightened, and has been willing to do the right thing and grow a set of balls. France and Germany, of course, have backed off, calling the US war mongers. If that ain't tough s#@! to eat I don't know what is. France and Germany? Give me a break.

Additionally, three months befor 9/11 German Intelligence reported that two of the Hijackers had met with Iraqui Intelligence in Berlin. What is the point? The point is that Al Queda is working hand in hand with Iraq to defeat a commen enemy, The USA. Al Queda is the missle, or the delivery system for Saddams warhead. They are the foot soldiers for Saddam and all other anti westen Suni, Wahabi, terror groups.

Does anybody doubt that the people who brought us 9/11 would do anything to top it? Does anybody really doubt that Usama Bin Laden would kill 30 million Americans if he could? Not even you, LBK.

Here is the simple equasion: Saddam has Anthrax. Saddam gives Anthrax to Usama Bin Laden or somebody like him. Usama Bin Laden uses it to attack the London underground. Thousands die.

I do not.

Abuse is often the price of principle. Nothing has changed. The brave will do the fighting for the rest of us and the weak will conspire to undermine their success, as a way feeling better about themselves. War is the answer, we will march into Bagdad and wipe those crooks out in the American style, hostile, mobile, agile. And we will have saved the world once again, three times in a hundred years. Let the Euros and the left wingers rot. They don't matter anyway. The whole thig will be over in a few weeks and the world will be a safer place. Then we won't have to read any more lame posts from cowards and traitors.

I've read alot of feel good left wing propaganda and I want to present the other side. I support the war on Iraq, and a war on islamic terrorism aimed at the west. My stance is based on the following considerations:

1. Revenge. Western law is based on a long tradition of providing justice to the victims of crime by exacting real punishment on the transgressor. When Al-Queda blew up our buildings they comitted mass murder. In this country we exicute killers and we must not rest until we have exicuted every Al-Queda murderer in an act of revenge on behalf of the American people. Even you, LBK. Would the peace fanatics who post on this sight have advised the US to turn the other cheek after Pearl Harbor, or when the Germans put six million Jews into the oven. The sad answer is that they probibly would. That is why their opinion means zero to most Americans. Revenge is the American way. Our court system is based on it.

2. Weapons of Mass destruction. Eleven years ago at the end of the gulf war the Iraquis, in a moment of forced vulnerability, admitted that he had over 80 gallons of high grade Anthrax, enough to kill 30 million people, and a large ammount of other lethal chemical agents. Iraq still has these weapons and refuses to account for them as required by the 1992 cease fire agreement with the UN. Why does Saddam hold onto these weapons? Because he beleives that the west is too yellow to call his bluff. And if you read this sight you may think he is right. But he's not. What he is, is a brutal dictater with his hand on enough chemical weapons to wipe out LA., all of LA. Maybe LBK thinks this is a good idea. These weapons are Saddams warhead.
