Longboarder Louie, I'm not looking for a date here, I'm looking for a friend that I lost track of. He happens to be a longboarder, and I thought maybe somebody that visited this site may know of him. Be extreme my studly little longboarder, and don't assume other peoples intentions by only a few lines that you have read.

Lia, what do you think this is, a bloody dating service!? Don't you know that all longboarders tend to be of the studly variety, our boards simply an extension of our selves? Be extreme my lusty little vixen, throw caution to the wind and go for the next longboarder that enters your life!

This is in response to my own posting of 4/3/98 about being up in the Bay Area next weekend and wanting to ride with some of Northerners. A suggestion has been made to do the Scott Creek Road run at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday or Sunday. Well, 10:30 works for me on Saturday, but the afternoon would be better on Sunday. Anyway I going to repost the directions under events. I'll probably be coordinating through either Adam or Greg.
Why don't we shoot for Saturday @ 10:30, and Sunday afternoon as a backup, if it rains Saturday.

I'm looking for a dude named Justin Britt. He lives in Santa Fe, I believe. He's gorgeous. He's a photographer. And, he's a longboarder. I think he's about 26, kinda on the small side, brown hair. If anybody knows this man or how to get in touch with him, please e-mail me... paisly8@hotmail.com

Hey Guys,
I'm going to be up in the Bay Area next weekend (yeah, I know it's Easter weekend), and I was wondering if you're are still doing the weekly rides. Hopefully, it won't be raining like a cow pissing on a flat rock. Anyway, if anything's going on let me know. Either post a message here or drop me an e-mail. I'll be staying in Fremont, but can drive wherever if you get me directions.

I would like to start up a longboard chat in IRC (Undernet) where longboarders around the world can meet to trade techniques and give other skaters/surfers advice about what decks, trucks, wheels and other stuff is good or bad or whatever. As you may know, there once was a chat channel on Undernet called #sidewalksurf. It was run by Paul (he imports Deplo skateboards to Europe). But the channel was went down becos no people were comming. If you are interested to talk to other longboarders in realtime on the internet then email me!!! Maybe we can meet on the Undernet soon. I use the nickname Jonas or Jonas^ when I'm on. Join #sidewalksurf! I'll be there! Skate with soul! but take care Jonas :)

Hey kiddies Just got the new Gravity video "slides". It is pretty cool. It is 45 min long and has lots of footage. It has a lot of vert footage, with ollies and stuff. It shows some killer surf style slides on banks and stuff. It has a pretty cool longboard surf section with guys walking the board and nose wheeling. My personal favorite is the section on "Gravity Girls". It shows some female longboarders doing their stuff. It is interesting to see the different styles of all the riders and get ideas. I also got the Sector 9 video, Rollin'. That one is OK, not as good as the Gravity vid. The part in Rollin' where the guy commutes on his longboard is way killer! The commuter rides on the freeway! Way cool and super funny. I got the vid yesterday and I have watched them both twice and my roomate watched the Gravity one three times! Oh well, just wanted to give a small review.

SOULED OUT - your longboard zine (http://www.netspace.net.au/~richardj/) is looking for input from female longboarders for our 'wahine' section. It's great that we see more female skaters longboarding than shortboardin' and we will explore why. Anyway if you are (or know) a female longboarder get them to put their thoughts down or give me a mail to get a list of questions to answer
Thanks SO

KC/eggman,
I've never been a big fan of towing, ever since this time when I was about 15 (circa 1978), and broke my very first "extremely homemade" longboard towing on a friend's Datsun 510. He was going uphill at about 20 mph when my board drifted under his back tire. I was wearing a bathing suit and no shirt and no shoes. I rolled over and skidded to a stop on my back. The first couple of days were hell because the rasberry was so big I had no way of keeping it covered. Everytime a piece of cloth, like a shirt or bed sheet, would touch it, it would stick and end up tearing up the scab when removed. I finally bought a butt load of 3 x 5 non-stick bandage pads. I had to tape together eight of them to make a single banadage big enough to cover the wound. After that, it healed in about a week. Wow, I didn't mean to turn this into a crashing story.
Anyway, I'd be careful of those wide turns. The reason they work waterskiing is that the boat weighs a couple thousand pound. Someone on a bike or a moped does not. Swing too hard sideways, and you take down the guy on the bike/moped. Then everybody eats it. Just something to think about.

Eggman, proof read what you write, you don't make sense half the time. And being towed by anything is very dangerous, I would think twice about this. We can get in enough trouble with gravity, I've seen people seriously hurt while being towed. Just find a phat hill and do some soul carving!

Hey dude! It works great with a moped! Nothing is more fun than going late at night and cruzing the neighborhood being towed behind a gas powered cycle. It is cool. Try it, if you have access to the greatest machine of the 80's. Later late and I went riding today....

i've got a home-made board that used to be a waterski with some decent trucks, sector9 wheels, and china bones. I am hoping to upgrade soon to a cosmic riderII. Anyways what I found is fun is get some of my friends to pull me on a bike with a water-ski rope. I'ts lots of fun to "cut outside" and be even with the bike. Give it a try. I guess it could work with a mo-ped, or a car for that matter.
have fun skate hard God Bless

Whats up guys? I am a student at The University of Texas in Austin, and I started longboarding about 4 months ago. I am mainly into the surf style of riding since I have a surfing background. The problem is that I am going home to Irving, TX for the summer, and I don't have anyone to ride with. So if you are interested in having someone to ride with and you are in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, please e-mail me!!
Later, Andy (("

Devan, I have a Cosmic Rider 2. It's a great board. If you're old enough to remember what a G&S Fibreflex slalom deck was like, that's what a Cosmic Rider feels like. The only serious complaint I've ever heard is that they don't flex well with lighter (170 lbs. or less) riders--not a problem for me. I saw a kid about twelve on one last weekend at the beach, and it had about as much give as an old Logan Earth Ski at his weight. If you're interested, I did a pretty comprehensive review of the Cosmic Rider 2 on my web page, Nose Wheelie
http://home.earthlink.net/~sturhann/nosewheelie/equip/decks/s9crii.html
Check it out.

Does anyone have an opinion on 3 truck configurations. I mean two trucks in the back of the board and one in the front. I have been riding this config for about a year and a half and makes for a great ride. The extra truck cuts down on fishtailing and on speed wobbles which is a blessing. Let me know what you think.
