Glory Hole
Just thought you all would like to know that I just posted a story about a spot called Glory Hole on Nose Wheelie. Actually, it's more than just a spot, it's a great story. Kind of reminds you why we got involved with skateboarding to begin with. Check it out at:

Question for everyone: I have been hearing rumors of standup downhill for the x-games this summer. Is there any truth to the rumors?
thanks,

Eggman, cool bro, showing our longboarding ways in a responsible, high visibility way can do nothing but promote our sport in a positive way. Be careful not to cream the mayor going through the front door! Louie out!

Hey kiddies, Well, just wanted to let you know that I am doing my part for the longboard community. What am I doing? Well, I am working at city hall in the beautifull city of San Jose, CA. Everyday I ride my longboard from the parking lot (about 1/8 of a mile) in thru the front door. It is cool and I believe if the city leaders see one of there own riding a longboard, than they will be more apt not to pass laws against them. Ok, keep the faith and the carve. Later.

Just thought that the skategeezers out there would like to know that there are two articles in the April 1998 issue of Slap magazine--one on the 1970s and one on the 1980s.

Cliff,
Just thought you'd like to know that the Scott Creek event did come off yesterday. It stopped raining by about Noon, and the streets were dry by 2:00. Other than a pretty stiff wind, especially later, conditions were pretty good. I had a blast.

Does anyone know if the skate session took place yesterday, Easter Sunday at the Scott Creek location? I heard that the X-Games will have Speedboarding as an exibition event at the 1998 summer games! I hope so. This is a fantastic sport with many skilled participants. I hope in the future that races will be on the toughest courses ridable, ie: steep with many hairpin turns. In any case, if there are going to be more and more future events, then hopefully the promoters will have races for all of the styles being practiced. It would be nice to see some Giant Slalom etc.

Joey Tig, in regards to wheel size. All things being equal, (type of board, bearings, trucks, weight of rider, etc.) larger wheels are faster. This is due to the fact that the larger wheels will cover more ground per rotation of the wheel on the truck, however being that your speed on a skate is determined by many different factors, not limited to the ones mentioned before, wheel hardness, quality and type of pavement and on and on. Hope that helps.

A Science project question. Does wheel size affect the speed of a skateboard ride?
If so, how?
What kind of experiment could I design and perform to determine how skateboard wheel size affects speed?
Thanks!

Like most others that read and post here, I have to admit that I ride the longest board I can not to make up for lack of manhood but, in fact, to draw attention away from my amazingly studly looks. (Hey let me have my delusions, ok?)
