I'v been skating for about 10 years now, and in the
last 4 years or so I'v mastered the art of downhill skating.
Every morning when I wake up I go for my morning downhill
skate. I live in Tasmania, Australia, where I live it's just
one hill after another, I'v got to the stage now where I can
skate any road, any grass hill and any thing els with a slope.
A couple of weeks ago a new skateboarding law came in making
it illigal to skate any where but the local skate park, which
consists of a half pipe, bowl, quarter pipe and a couple of
little ramps and things. But the thing is, it takes about 1 hour
to get to the bloody place! So when this new law came in all
hell broke loose. If you get caught skating in a public place
now, you get a $50 ticket and your board taken. The police have
gone to far and should be stoped. Just last night I was skating
down this hill near my home when I looked behind me and there
was a motorcycle cop with his lights flashing, so I got down
and speeded as fast as the bearings would go, I lost him when
I got to the bottom of the hill and got up and ran my ass off.
I thaught that would be the end of it. The next day I was at home
when I heared a nock on the door, it was a cop with a warrent
to arrest me for atempted suicide. HAVE YOU HEARED OF ANY THING SO
STUPID IN ALL YOUR LIFE! The police have gone to far and it
has to stop, I personly now 7 good friends that have had over
$500 worth of finds in the last 2 months for skateboarding
on the streets, even when they where not putting them selfs
or anyone els in any danger at all. IT MUST STOP!

Hi everyone. I am doing a feature in my school newpaper
about skateboarding and the efforts of my town, Susanville,
and other Northern California towns to get Skate Parks. I
would appreciate skateboarders e-mailing me and telling me
about predjudices they have experienced from general citizens
and police. I would also like to know about your city's
Skate parks or Skate park plans.

Thanks! e-mail sinisee@hotmail.com

Hey, where can I take a look at some Randel or Seismic trucks? All I hear about them is that they are great but none of the skate shops in my town sell them. Could anyone who knows where I can get a set of trucks (perferably Randels) in the Santa Barbara area let me know with a friendly email. It would be much appreciated. Keep it low to the ground.

Greetings to all skategeezers and longboarders. Well, it finally happened...A publisher has decided to finally put out a book on the history of skateboarding. I am now working as an author/editor/archivist etc. and trying to get things ready for spring 98. The book will have worldwide distribution and will contain the history of skateboarding from the 50's to the present day. I need photos and stories. All photos will be returned. You will be required to sign release sheets (hey, what else are lawyers for!) All photos will be returned. Please send whatever you have to Michael Brooke 1054 Centre Street Suite 293 Thornhill Ontario L4J 8E5 CANADA. We want this to be a worldwide affair, so no matter if you're from LA or Aukland, we want your skateboard memories!

I have been riding the Madrid 40" Longboard since 1983. I am on my third deck, ( I take real good care with my babies ).
I have been told that Madrid went under and am hoping to find a used 40" in almost new condition. I'm 35 years old and
have checked out the new school longboards. I'm an old dog who doesn't want to learn new tricks, ( kicks are for trids ).

Please contact me at grampa1@earthlink.net
