I know someone that owns one but thoses that do, will most likely never sell them. However Jonas, a NCDSA member makes them and I as well as others are waiting desperatly for some pics, it was posted under homemade brds. Could you imagine the faces on the new schooler as you tear up the park on one of those!

Lonnie Toft
On 6/13/2000 Simon "Old Brit" wrote in from (195.92.nnn.nnn)

Guys, I'm from the jolly old UK. I have in my posession a beautiful Sims Brad Bowman Decks, with Indies and Alva conicals. I used to use it regularly, until I managed to ride into the back of my ankle and Severe my achilles tendon. Thats been fixed and to prevent it from happening again I'm getting into longboarding for the second time.

Does anyone have a Sim's Lonnie Toft deck preferably the 33" model that they would be willing to sell ??

T.T.F.N........Simon.

34-44 inches, wider versions of the same type of shapes, and you would definitely have at least an E-marketable skateboard,I'd buy one, even a few for my shop,if reasonable whole sale was possible.

On 6/11/2000 Pre-School Rider wrote in from (209.198.nnn.nnn)

Ali,you oughta see the one I have.It came to me in this UGLY school-bus interior greenish color,SO,I took it to my friend Georgi,a former Kostabi artist. He hand airbrushed a Spaceship onto the top. It's not finished some seven years later,'cause I had to ride it before Georgi got to the bottom.Scroll back to early Feb.this year(search either Turner or snowboard cross trainer)and you'll see three friends of mine with newer Turners.Somehow, one of these days,I'm going to get this board back into production,IF I can get the funding and Bobby Turner's blessing, but that's another matter altogether. They ride better than they look!:0

Bahne trucks
On 6/9/2000 Herbn wrote in from (207.198.nnn.nnn)

I think these had only three holes, but they were punched out of steel sheet and round stock with welds and allen bolt axles so I don't see how Bennetts wound remind you of them.

Old three holers
On 6/8/2000 Pre-School Rider wrote in from (209.198.nnn.nnn)

I remember only two trucks that came with just three holes;Chicago, and an odd one,Santana, that had square bottom bushings. Both Clamper and Force had Bennet-like baseplates, but also with 8 oviod holes.Sorry Lonecore, that's all I can come up with. The old memory seems to be a little off today.

trucks with 3 holes
On 6/8/2000 Lonecore wrote in from (194.230.nnn.nnn)

Those Bennet trucks really remind me of some trucks I found in a friends garage lately. They have the same kingpin, with the nut underneath. They are a little bit narrower and have only 3 holes on the baseplate.
Can somebody tell me what trucks they are? I'll post a photo, but it'll take a while.

Greetings,

Ueli

'70 60mm 97a Cherry Kryptonics
On 6/3/2000 Mike wrote in from (152.163.nnn.nnn)

I think I have found the best all around wheels. These Cherry Kryptos are by far better than anything i have tryed before. My uncle, who used to ride back in the day (and still does today), had these babies on one of his old home made boards. He let me try them one my board and all I have to say is if anyone can find them, buy them before anyone else can, cuz they're the shit.

Hey Glen,

The 8-wheelers were almost exactly the same as the 4 wheel simms/toft. They had a good size kicktail and the body of the deck is rockered about 0.5 inches... Hope that helps, HR

8 wheelers
On 5/29/2000 Glen wrote in from (216.102.nnn.nnn)

Hugh, did the Lonnie Toft model eight wheeler have anyconcave to it. or was it flat with a kicktail? I made an 8 wheeler in the 70's that I used to have a lot of fun with. It was just a flat hunk of plywood, with bennett trucks, Park Rider Logan 5's on the back and Road Rider #4's on the front. I would like to make or buy one again for riding on the local school banks.

Virtual Vintage Museum

Kanoa,

That was my original hope when we founded this forum, but we have not yet implemented the web server feature to let people post pics in real-time. The pics you see me posting I nab from ebay.com and post here manually.

But anyone who want to see their pre-1980 vintage pics on this forum can email them to me and I'll post them.

Hey Kanoa,

That is a great picture! I have added it to the 8-wheeler page... also I have added a nice example of a 1970's style vertical laminate board with a blocked kicktail that was made by Glen (on the viewers board page) hit my url off of the NCDSA links page... HR

Hey Adam,
all of us should put together a virtual vintage museum by sending in pics of old boards we have so everyone can view them. I've tried to post picks in the archives before but couldn't figure out how to do it.

Tracker never made plastic Half-Track hangers, just
Mid-Tracks.And only plastic Base plates in Gnarly size pivots.Stimulators were inner grommets that were fat in the middle.
