Easier Schmesier!
Craig, I leave my tabs on! Hit my page and you can find some down loadable templets for both the cut outs and mounting plate that I use for my drop thrus... (off of the NCDSA link page)
It is more work... but I think it's worth it! HR

Craig, It is a lot easier to drop a truck through the deck if the tabs (gussets) on Randal Downhill truck are removed. Your choice is either to cut the tabs off the trucks or to cut slots in the deck to accept the truck's tabs. I've spoken with Randal about this and he said that the basesplates are "overbuilt" as they are and would not suffer. Weakening the deck by cutting slots in it would be less desireable and so... off with the tabs. I use a handheld grinder. In a perfect world, the holes in the board that you use to drop trucks through would be parallel and symmetrical and therefore easy to make without a template. To drill, cut, grind, file and sand takes time away from skating!

So, hey... I'm planning on being there Saturday. How many of you guys are going to make it, and what kind of skill level is this going to be? Also, I noticed another good question... Secret Kludy runs, or open roads? Either way, I'll bomb it.

The name sounds a bit like something kinky you'd find at Ronnies sex shop!
Seriously though, somewhere in my subconscious i remember reading that you (Chris Kaput) cut off those tiny little supporting notch things on the baseplate of the randal downhill truck before you mount it through the deck. Do you do this, and why ,or was I dreaming?

I heard rumours of another Barret race early next year.
When exactly is it? And where exactly in your country is it? I ask because, there is an ever so slight chance of my being in the area at the time.
I'm actually counting my chickens before my infertile hen has even been enseminated!

The results of the two man downhill was Manu, Dane,Darrell,Eli And so on they paid 3rd and 4th both for third and same for fifth and 6th kind of messed up orginization and only metal for 1 and 2. no consilation run so im telling people i tied for third cause i would have beaten darrell or swept the knee like dane did to manu. The asphalt was shards of lava rock in tar dont fall down or you get hurt. not to true though, i fell about 10 or 15 times and still have leathe to race with. thanx for al support see you all in cape town.

Todcar, In the 2-Man final, Todd Lehr did win the race. He nipped me by 3" at the line. In the 4-man race, Lehr and Dansie rubbed wheels coming out of the 180 sweeper. Although Dansie got the worst of it, Lehr was stalled and was not able to fully recover, despite making a great late charge. van Bommel held me off by 3" and won that race, Lehr took 3rd. There was nothing that I did that would warrant such a comment from Biker. He is more than likely referring to the collision with Dansie. I'm sure it was upsetting to Todd because he would have taken the "King of the Hill" trophy and more cash home if he finished 2nd or better in the 4-man. All of these guys just take it in stride. They are young and have long bright futures ahead of them. That's racing!
p.s. Here is a similar picture of the Seattle Race right before the contact was made. Todd was ahead of and to the outside of Leemo, who must have drifted wide when attempting to dive in. There is no way that Todd would have been moving right to block Leemo.

Hey Chris Chaput, take a look at the latest International Long Boarder interview with Dregs guys. Biker makes a comment about how Todd Lehr could have won the event except for a certain rider's actions - I then saw the shot that went with the story and saw the rider in front of him was you. Was Biker talking smack about you? Hmmmmm...

Actually the Pharmicist is Darrin Kessing not Kludy, he was one of the best downhill skaters/lugers to ever race, until he was badly injured while filming a Buick commercial on a streetluge. I hope he one day recovers and comes back to kick ass again! He has been riding in the upper 60s and 70s for years and is the man responsible for showing everyone all the fast hills out east of el cajon, this guys rips, time to show graditude and respect. He lives down near Rick and Homemade, and thus shares the same prefix in their IP address. He also doesnt get on much, which would explain the use of all caps!

Rick Kludy, You are the only one with an IP address that starts with 152.163, types (shouts) in all caps and puts spaces before punctuation characters. You said you wouldn't be online for a while and now you're back with the pseudonym "Pharmacist". Now that we know who you are, could you write me a prescription for speed? What color do you recommend for my white hairs? Does my Medicare cover it or do I have a co-pay?

A very obscure sport can be witnessed in some parts of the country referred to as "Tornado Alley". After chasing down a suitable tornado, competitors will stake down "gripboards" onto a standing in anticipation of ever increasing wind speeds. Last one standing is the winner. Specialized aerodynamic armor is needed to withstand the 120+mph gusts of wind and debris. When interviewed, most credited their success to a good aerodynamic stance and the ability to deflect flying cows. These guys (and one gal, Dorothy) are very proud of their 0 mph records.
