Having been one of the many people who help the Windsor EMT's get Rick outa the tree he landed-came-to-rest-upon, I really want to ask this of the Luging and Speedboard crowd...
Put Auld on your Prayer list. Just give him some extra support in healing, recovery, and peace of mind.
BTW, I'm Lutheran, but I really don't care how you pray (well, as long as it isn't to satan or money). The idea here is put some positive vibes out Dave's way, and encourage a healthy recovery.

Today was a scary, fast, sneaker-smokin' day at Ascutney. Yet, the racers got the hill dialed, and put on a good show, and ran a fairly civil race (ok, one nudge-to-haybail). The bad news is with Dave Auld, who went off just past the third corner into the woods. He's got a broken leg, arm, and bad bruises. I'll get up to the Hospital Monday to at least say hi, and see how it's going. It wasn't a Flywheel kind of hill, more grip, less speed I think. The whole crew was great today though, racing their butts off, and dialing the hill in all day long. This is no 'Sunday cruise', rather a steep, twisty hill, with pitches in the 20% gradeint range. Hot shoes. Kudos to the GSI crew who kept it rolling along, and kept it sane + real!
Also, Marc, good to See ya! :-D You're looking low + Fast! Be in touch...

Brian Lee of Salt Lake City, UT took his second consecutive victory over John Rogers at the California Downhill Series Finale held Saturday at Bonelli Park. Matt Thiede finished third and Justin Tolman was fourth. Lee seems to have figured out something about the Bonelli course that is giving him some increased speed the past two races. However, even with two consecutive victories, it wasn't enough for Lee to beat Rogers in the Championship. Rogers clinched his second consecutive California Downhill Series Championship with Lee a close second and Justin Tolman in third.
In Classic Luge it was Riley Meehan earning the victory over Matt Thiede and Justin Tolman. The seven riders all rode together in three heats to determine the winner. Tolman's third place finish was enough for him to earn the Series Championship. Riley Meehan finished the Championship in second and Scott Peer was third.
Junior Street Luge and Classic Luge was all about Christian Conaway and Kyle Castenada. Both of these junior racers are on fire and getting faster with each race. Conaway took the victories and Series Championships in both classes but Castenada was always close and pushing hard. In one of the heats the IGSA officials had to revert to video tape to confirm that Conaway had earned victory by only about two inches! Look for these two to resume their battle next season.
The IGSA would like to thank Sector 9, Random X Boardshop and SilverfishLongboarding.com for all of their generous support of the 2006-2007 California Downhill Series.

On Saturday April 28th, we had a nice turnout of street luges and classic luges for the fourth round of the IGSA California Downhill Series. Brian Lee was stoked to beat John Rogers and stand on the top of the street luge podium. In Classic luge, Justin Tolman took a narrow victory over a very impressive Christian Conaway. Christian has found a lot of speed over the winter. Watch out for this young gun! Thank you to all of the riders who attended and to our sponsors including Sector Nine, Random X skateshop, Rayne Longboards and One West Clothing, The season finale will be held on Saturday May 19th.

Gentlemen, there's nothing I'd like more than to hoist a toast to my good buddies and fellow racers and welcome them to their declining years... it's f#*king amazing they lived this long!!! But it's a tough time right now, home improvement has contractors and workers crawling all over my property and drooling at the sight of my wife and 21 year old daughter! I gotta stay close and the shotgun ready! Maybe later we can replay the Templin mondays and I'll host the bar! Till then, keep it rolling and as Digger would attest... "It's All Good!"

Steve F., take some time off to have fun near the boarder. It would be an honor to drive you all up and down that great hill. I will bring my truck friday after work. I sure do need a week end with out normal people. My board is on my beach for the 1st time in a while, had to move the cats out ! Thanks to a new freind, I can just give up and grow old or throw it out again. Kludyville has kept me somewhat safe all these years, why put my alter ego in the closet. ITS ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 My kids agree. I did try to break a horse last week end and other things, just not the warm and fussies I need. The horse won, Ha!

To buy new or make yourself..One must realize if you make it, it better be safe cause nothing worse than 57mph and s#@! falls apart. Or bite the bullet take make a commitment for once in your life and step over to Steve Fernando's TRS(Templin Road Sled) you won't be disapointed. I have one its awesome. I rode Steve's at Bainbridge,Ohio in 2005. He's 6' tall I'm 5'8" but never the less it rocked! Came home right after and ordered me one..I been riding it ever since. Justin Tolman owns one, Albert Yokovich also. Its a piece of art in motion a King would be proud to have it.. then get yourself some GPS wheels and its all done.

Check this out - when you're on a straight course and it's all about the push... You'd either better be in great shape or be a surfer. I heard the only reason Brian Lee got 3rd is cause Jeremy Kahn pushed Mike Mcintyre at the beginning
