Yo RENE, ofcourse I tightened them down...I may not know the difference between the 74's and the 78's (except the obvious white and red urethane - DOH!), but I do know how to tighten the bloody wheels!!!...:) It's kind of a rattle, like a tinkling sorta noise, it makes the wheels sound awful anyways...maybe the material, or the 'bearing separation rib' thingy...I dunno, but the wheels are real nice! I've grown to love 'em! But I got another problem with 'em (not much). The bearings (I'm currently running abec3's or Black Panther's) are fuggin tight in there mate! Jesus, it was some effort to get 'em out...I know they gotta be well snug, but...I nearly got the bloody lump-hammer out! I'm gonna try giving them a little bit of a sand (with emery cloth) in the bearing wells.
Yours experimentally FUZZ xxx

I want to get myself a supaflex pintail 120. Can anyone tell me anyhting about it? Other then the kid from France who wrote in to brag about his. The site, www.supaflexyug.com, doesn't have a price list or a way( that I could figure out) to order a board. Are there any U.S distributors. Also Indiana looks like they make some sick high speed longboards. What's the 10-4 on their sticks? Laterzz

Just got some of these and put them on a TVS 42" Mid w/ R-II's. The only other wheel I've ridden are Sector 9 nineballs 70mm/78A, so I can't make many comparisons. So far they seem like a decent wheel. The one thing I noticed is that they seem to make a lot of noise. I dunno if it's because the spacers are too small or if the wheel is just like that, but they are a lot louder than my nineballs.

I guess its the heat,I've never really noticed heat from bearings ,just from sliding, but most of the hills around here are under a mile long, its not the weight regular powerpaws and aluminators are both the same weight as weighed on my electronic gram scale.

Speedemon,
I believe the aluminum core is for distributing (sp?) the heat from the bearing more evenly and to prevent the core from melting at higher speeds.
Even from my 20-25 mph runs, if I touch the center of my aluminators they are warm. Imagine these guys who do standup at 60!
That's my theory anyway, I may be totaly wrong. Besides the heat theory, they look amazing! I had my local skate shop baffled when they saw them.

HEY guys, i'm coming back to talk about wheels, and tell you there isn't one best wheel , it depends on the use you're looking for. What surprises me is, a lot of you guys want the fastest wheel, why the fastest should be the best ? This week i had the opportunity to train a bit and i beat many records i held with turbo wheels with my 74a power paws, Of course it's not a way to say the power paws are the best but sometimes on very turning and technical roads a sticky wheel is much better than a fast and sliding wheel.I can also tell you the new S9 76 were good too. So, if i can give you an advice, think about what you'll do with your wheels before saying they aren't good. Obviously for those who are rich, the best is to have different sets .... Next month on my web site you'll find a complete test made in association with many european champions ! Web site : longskate.net or edi-e.org Skate safe my friends....Manu

Yeah man, The spacers supplied with my Aluminators rattle like hell...kinda puts you off at high speed coz you think your wheel is gonna come off! Changed the spacers (Black Panther ones)...no problemo! I got the 74a's...I like 'em, super grippy, highly trust-worthy when laying BIG hand down carves at 30mph+!!!
Cheers FUZZ xxx

I agree with Eggman. Aluminators take a bit of breaking in before you can truly appreciate them. I have the red 78a's and at first, I thought the wheel was too hard and not sticky enough for my riding style. But after having them for about 3 months, these wheels rock!
I've taken them off my FibreFlex pintail and tried them on my Cosmic 2 rider. It seems these wheels were made as well for carving as for speed. Worth the money for sure. They are fast wheels, but still grip like no other wheel I've had. Very well made wheels, if only my spacers would work on them! Rene has explained a few times why they don't.

I was expecting an amazing change when I put these wheels on, and I did not get it. So, I guess I was a little bummed, like you, after the first week. However, after having the aluminator whites for about three months now, I am WAY stoked on them. I have not seen hardly any wear, and they are real sticky and smooth and fast. They are just as good as new (but dirtier!)
There is alot of hype with aluminators (as far as lots of people talking about them) so it is easy to think they are some super wheel that will magically make you skate better(thats what I thought). They will make you a better skater but give them a little while

Hey Mario, Nice observation, not the same mold, similar shape for sure (I did it on purpose inside story), but our wheels really are 70mm the krypts. are 68mm. The reds are 78a white 74a A couple more things, yes at speed they are faster speak with Manu and others that have ridden them, also soon u will be able to send us the used wheels and u get a disc. on you'r replacement set so it's recycle for the core....helps the enviro. a bit, also Yes the core makes the wheel look killer and gives it more rebound too!!
Enjoy them.. ps. yeah biker doesn't ride them, we have others that do...

I've had them a week and I can't decide if they are really worth the money. The wheel, except the core, looks identical to my Krypto Route 70mm: same size, shape, color, and durometer. Do they come from the same mold? The mag wheel look is something I would have pined for as a kid, and for that alone they are probably worth the money. But performance-wise, I'm not seeing a huge difference. They seem a little bit faster, but that may be cognitive dissonance (I paid more, so they must be faster). Maybe I have to get them up to 40 mph or something.

I'm currently riding a cloud 9 with the standard 61mm nineballs. I don't bomb hills YET and I haven't tried out any other wheels yet. What I'm after are some suggestions as to good flat-cruising wheels. Do I want bigger? softer? smaller? harder? I get the feeling that these 78a 61mm's aren't holding speed very well so I have to pump a lot, but they do alright with a bit of an incline. I just want a little input as to what might be fun, I've actually been using my board to commute to work. Ok, that's a bit long, so I'm out. -Jessie
