the good issue of telling them how i did it was that when paula arrived she did not even need to give them my name. "40 year old, skateboard incident.....oh! he is in ward X bed Y......sniger, sniger". easy.

Regarding Clingflims recent trip to the E.R. I never tell the doctors that I injure my self skateboarding I normally say I tripped over or was riding a bike cause it all gets logged and goes on the national injury statistics as I understand..
and if there is too many skateboard related injuries we will all get rounded up and shot and tortured...honest!!

After doing my own Search For Animal Chin I must admit that my copy of Skateboard Kings was the real bargin as I have more space for recording other stuff on it than the rest of you guys, at least that's one way of looking at it. One question though, why is it always me?

We've just added three new regional forums for UK, Switzerland, and France. As other countries show sufficient posting volumes we will try to create new forums for them as well.

Mad Mike's barking

Thanks Mad Mike, no offence taken. Oh, I'd wished i was at the hospital when the nurses asked how he'd done it. Did he say, "Racing at Brands Hatch" then get looks of awe and admiration... Or did he say "I fell off my skateboard" and get sniggers?
Its like Paul Price saying he beat Olson in a 'pool' comp...great storey...but the Pool was one with grren baize and six holes... Its how you tell them.
Get well soon Chris. Glad they could sort you out, you were brave not to go straight away, but when I broke my finger badly they said I was ripe for amputation if I had waited longer. If in doubt go to the hospital guys.

Despite being offerred sponsorship from a variety of teams I have decided to stay with Octane Sport. Of course Barcelona put in an offer, and Madrid did make enquiries....oooo errrr off on a tangent.
Darrens quite right, I do get to pick from a wide range of schtuff, and I love riding what I sell. It can't all be down to hours I spend in the gym.

Slider Gloves

I reckon Slider Gloves always make a difference when falling I am starting to put plastic sliders on the knees of me leathers as when you fall it stops the sticking and twisting action that seems to cause the majority of injuries when falling off... The same applies to falling on your hands your skin grips the tarmac then pulls the arm/wrist back as opposed to impact then slide the plastic disperses the energy as well...
I would wrap my self in plastic if I could..
Nothing beats the feeling of sliding down the road at 40 mph and getting up and walking off unscathed.. apart from not falling off at 40 mph

Sorry to hear about your hand, clingfilm. I wonder if slider gloves would have changed the outcome? I don't slalom without them though I haven't had the chance to test their worth as of yet. ;)

Comet Prizes for Brands

The Comet deck was awarded to Chris Charalambous as the highest non sponsored rider placed, Smokestack and myself didn't count Stride in it because
1 he dosen't look like a unsponsored rider
2 he probably wouldn't ride the board
3 he has more stuff than most of us put together anyway...
Chris was stoked on it (he got a o'shei med flex) as it wasn't much different in shape than the 25 year old stick he was riding just a wee bit wider....
Imagine Michael riding a jon o'shei? I think not...

just an update as i was a bit up on codine and morphine (recommend the later) yesturday. I will have another operationFriday week and then they will let me know whats going on and how much metal work will need to stay. Basically it was not too bad to look at but trashed internally.
JG everyone loves brands, even if it is scarery, and so generated a lot of talk.
ED no chance from me, you know more than i do. There were prizes and i had stickers and stuff for the kids. I will make it up to them at Bude if I am out of hospital then.
There was a Comet deck for micheal, I assume Darren took them home with him, contact Shiner and I will pay the postage later.
If any one has any of my kit please let me have it back next time i see you. I do not need it in the short term.
