Anybody know of any skate shops in Tokyo? Preferably around the west side of the Yamanote (Ebisu/Shibuya/Shinjuku/etc.)? I'm heading down there from my rural hideout and I need to pick up some kneepads.

If you're interested in a bit of slalom this weekend, keep saturday free. There should be a pretty good group of us, Paul is still in town, as is Jadranko, who flew in from the land of secretive banking, Switzerland, last night.
Check back on Thursday or Friday for venue details, as we haven't yet decided where we'll have it. I'm checking out a spot in Allawah this week which may prove to be a go.
So who's in? Josey Wales & Crew- I know you're down. Kanufi - yeah man, we gotta get a skate back on. Dex - bout time we wiggle again. Adrian - you wont be the only one riding an indiana
If we get a bit of racing going, there might just be some surprise prizes...

Coming to Japan - Tokyo, May 20-25, looking for some places to ride my slalom or long/park boards. Skateparks, regular parks, etc. Also will take any advice on nightlife and things to do. Sorta cheap restaurants. There's not much 420 in Japan or is there? Staying in Roppongi area. Anybody want to show me the town some night (girls preferred of course). Lot's of shortboard surfing there - any good longboard breaks? Any info is appreciated.

i take it you must live in on the coromandel (or like driving a lot!) should'nt you be surfing? i'm giving up sk8ing, it hurts too much now... when we return to nz it'll be to live on a beach and give up this silly concrete business!

Grindmaster, Pauanui is ALOT different now. Lots of 3-4 ft tranny and half-pipes and one decent 7-8 ft wall. The best part is that no-one skates it other than holiday periods.

Hi Slalom racers! I am now back in Manly and just got delivery of a new FibreFlex Freerider from San Diego! A very nice quality and finish and a cool white colour. I want to run some cones - how bout it Haggy? The deep powder snow in Japan was epic but I miss skating the hard stuff. Does anyone know where to get some timimg gear in Sydney? I'm here for April so lets get some skating in. Maybe a little race too? cheers, Paul 0415 611 911

Yeah, know Whanga well, head over there a lot. There's a huge vert ramp in a warehouse over there somewhere and a great little park over the hill at Pauanui too. You'll have to check them out in another eight years!!!

A huge crowd gathered for Japan's Hanazono Downhill race. Heavy snow all day meant racers with hard boots, speed suits and special wax preperation had little advantage. For my run the sun appeared for a few seconds and I pulled into the start section hard. My skateboarding experience told me to get into the 'Hutson tuck' position and I took the fastest line down the course without a single turn.
It was the fastest I've every been.................radical!!!
And the times came in and I found that I was in Second place by a fraction of a second. The Japanese could not believe it - an unknown Westerner from Neasden had come 2nd. One of the best days racing in my life. I wish you could have been there.
Today is my last day at work, leaving Japan soon...... Cheers, Paul

Hey Terry!
Welcome to Oz. Hope you meet up with some folks over in Perth. Do you feel like a visit to sydney in late April? Paul Price will be here as will a Swiss slalomer, should be fun.
I'll be in Perth hopefully later this year. We'll definitely have to do some riding then...
Peace, haggy

Hey lads,
not a hardcore rider but i'm looking for someone from the the Wollongong district to go for a cruise with. I know a couple alright spots, one being a winding pass down a mountain, the other being the hospital carpark (definitely a night ride that one). If anyones keen, shoot me an e-mail. adrianlammers@hotmail.com
