If you spin 'em, it goes for 35 seconds. Not ABEC rated, but still worth it. Although the sheilds do dent easily.

These bearings are probably the best priced ABEC-5 bearings out there. They ride smooth and don't break easily. If you are looking for quality bearings at affordable prices, keep these in mind.

these abec 5 are crap the lube leaked out of one of them
after a couple of days of use. I was not impressed with
them being fast either.

Although I haven't personally tried these bearings(yet), just wanted to let everyone know they're available. These bearings are the ultimate go fast bearings I currently am aware of. The balls are made of carbon/ceramic material that feature the lightest enertial resistance coupled with excellent heat disipation. They are not even ABEC rated as they are technically non-comparable. The only downside(MAJOR) is their cost. For more info e-mail me and I will answer all serious inquiries.E-mail:Barefutsk8@aol.com

These rip!!!! I called Powell, and they said that the only difference on these (besides the red shield), is the fact that the shield is less likely to bend, and thht there is a new crown which doesnt shatter at cold temps (under 50 degrees fahrenheit) like the previous version. These arent quite as smooth (when new), as the Black Panthers, they are strong as hell, and even feel faster.

Listen to Jesse. There may be better bearings out there for the price, but if there are, I haven't found them. Another good thing is that they have a plastic seal on the inside for easy cleaning and relubrication.

For 12.55 @ ABEC-3 ratings, I give these guys two thumbs up. Dump 'em in a glass of paint thinner and stir it around for a bit to get the grease out, then get some 10W-40 motor oil and drip that stuff in. Smooth and fast, that's all I can say.

Lucky Bearings
On 6/13/1998 Joe wrote in from ()

I bought these bearings at SR. They are ABEC3. They are super fast and smooth. But after a while of riding on them they start to go bad. One bisted on me a month ago when I was bombing a hill and a few of the ball bearings rolled out and I ate sit. If you like fast bearings but dont really care if you eat the pavement these are for you. If you would rather stay alive a little while longer pick some other bearing. They arent the best prive either around $15 american dollars.

Later

Joe

For those of you that are thinking that anything over ABEC-3 (anything costly) is needed for skating...then here is the painful TRUTH:

I'm sorry but bones annd lucky bearings suck. I'v skated both and black panthers are water resistant and lube themselves and are faster than anything else.

Like the ad says, youll go fast. Ive ridden the swiss bearings for years and years so I felt kinda funny about buying the "cheap set". All I can say is WOW, glad I was broke. These puppies move.. Ive been on this set for about 3 months with out cleaning them yet, but they look the same as the swiss, and those arent a pain to clean. So if your looking to buy new wheels, or just bearings, check these out. I think I got mine for about 16 or 17 bucks. Thats 15 bucks you save for "deckskin"!

ABEC ratings
On 5/22/1997 Paul wrote in from ()

You really dont need anything higher then ABEC 1.
If you use anything higher than ABEC 3 you may (and that is only "may") experience a better performance with 70mm wheels after you attain a speed of 420 kph (260 mph).

So don't waste your money.

ABEC MYTH
On 5/10/1997 Steve Cozens/ Deplo Skateboards wrote in from ()

The ABEC rating given to the 608z bearing is only important if you're putting them on some BIG machinery which has loads in excess of probably 700-1000 lbs.
An ABEC rating of 1 is good enough for skateboarding in any given condition except rain. What you want is a bearing made with high quality materials.
There are good bearings out there from all kinds of companies...Powell Swiss,GMN,NMB,and countless new brands.
Just don't get ripped off trying to by ABEC 5 bearings when the same brand ABEC 1 will work the SAME for your skating usage.

A friendly bit of advice from Deplo Skateboards.

Terminator Bearings
On 3/10/1997 Paul wrote in from ()

I called this company to ask more questions about their bearings
and they told me that the Terminators are Japanese made. They are
also going to come out soon with Swiss and German ABEC 5's, and
I also found out that they do alot of the private label
bearings, that are currently in the Skateboard industry. They said
they would send me some Jap 5's to try out-Pretty Cool if it happens.

I have been riding the ABEC 5's from this comapny and wow !
Smooth and fast. They are too easy to clean and have lasted
an extremely long time. Price was not bad, and I notice that
alot of the comapnies are using the 3's from Termintor, like
Gravity, Sector 9, Envy, Powerhouse, Karma, Bareback, and more.
I'm currently on a gravity.

German bearings. Very nice. Not ABEC rated but they'd probably be 3 or 5. I don't rebuild bearings so I can't comment on their rebuildability.
