Here's a couple pics of me and my brother skating the Sunol Ditch in 1988. Then there are a couple of the ditch today (yikes!) I want to dig up this place and make it skateable again. Anyone with shovels, brooms etc that's down, let me know. We're trying to organize something.

I finally got a chance go get on here and thank everyone for showing up and making the third Rio Bravo Banked Slalom race a blast and a complete success. I could go on, but pictures are worth a thousand words. Special thanks to the Wests for photographic documentation:

I'm headed to LA next month and wondering if anyone has the good word on skating at the dam. Would I need to climb over a 14 foot razor wire topped fence just to be gunned down by Homeland Security or it is skateable?

Hey GI Joe,
I just noticed we have to pay by May 1st. Are you going to set up a paypal link or something? Or do I just have to make sure I catch up with you? I mean, there's no address to mail to or anything. What about out-of-towners?

George,
Great recap of the RBBS race (including DFI). However, you forgot to mention EP locking his keys in the trunk for the second consecutive race. We ended up helping him pull the back seat to get to the keys. Someone needs to hold his keys for him at the next race. Ha!

Rio Bravo Banked Slalom went great on Sunday. Perfect weather, fun course and a whole bunch of heads.
BLR owned the podium with PALMER taking top honors and GBM in third. Concrete Wave spotlight boy Will Brunson chased hard but couldn't catch PALMER, landing in second palce. Ryan EP ended up .05 sec behind GBM and GI Joe filled out the top 5.
Prizes for 1-5 and DFL were provided by Sector 9, Black Label, and Indy. PALMER took home the winner-take-all cash purse.
Highlights included; PALMER throwing up after his first run (must have worked his times dropped each run), EP showing up after practice and blazing runs on 3 different boards, Brunson learning how to read a gas guage a little too late, great representation form the younger crowd, including some kid trying to run the course on board with a 12" wheelbase....
The speed freaks pulled on their leathers and hit some 50+ mph runs on the smooth hill next to the ditch after the banked slalom race. The ramp heads headed off the Jeffs to finish the day.
I'd call that a pretty full day. Great job by K-LEE and Nyah!!!
Looking forward to the next one.

I meant 1pm START time. I plan to be there like at 10am to sweep and play in the lower section. So, we will start promptly at 1pm. GBMII, please bring the George-o-meter timing system. Paul, bring $30 for your Indys. Palmer, please bring that box of Khiro goodies you said you'd let me go through. Everyone else bring your boards and $5 entry fee, plus smiles and good attitudes. See ya there....

Palmer and George have both been on the podium at the Bear. It's called winning, and it's a state of mind that most skaters don't have. I would say that FUN rates higher for most skaters, and that racing is fun, but winning is is too.

Joe, you can't do anything to the bear to make it easier... and if it was easier, than hell no i still won't wear there stinky ass brain bucket, I just got bored last year doing the same thing, then everytime we go Palmer, and GBM are all over the cones, it just isn't that fun being organized sk8in a ditch! I don't understand, I refuse to try to understand, and contests just got way to often, I'll be around at them sk8in or not, most likely anyway.
K-LEE, Rio bravo, depending on snow in Santa Fe, hang over sun. morn. I'll try to make it.

Alright boys, Will and I are planning to come down to represent TimeShip, 1 pm sounds perfect, that way we can get in a few REAL fast runs down the hill first. Palmer, if you'd like to race down the hill for $50 first, show up at Noon. Then you can try to win it back with what's left of your noodle legs. Think of it as training, not practice.
Lowrie, it would be a shame for you to skip the Bear before you've had a podium there. What if I change the course and make it easier, then will you wear a full face? Palmers got that lid that Danny gave him, it's an Azonic and looks real cool with long hair a flyin'. Don't go all Outlaw on us quite yet!

OK, that's great, we don't have to wait until 3 to start. But noon still seems early. How does a 1:00pm start time suit everyone? Those that don't respond on the forum will get called by phone. I'd hate to have someone show up at 3pm for the last runs.

K-Lee,
I have checked with the holly rollers (riders) and they can make the race anytime that day (actually before three would be great) A noon time start sounds great to this rider. I will be bringing 2 others. Thanks for putting it on, and I will be able to help time if you need.

I'm thinking starting the race @ 3:00pm, so that any holy rollers can get to the race before it starts.
I'll be there early if anyone wants to help me toy around with a possible faster, more open course in the lower section. But don't worry Palmer, we'll run the top course at least one more time for you.
1-23-05, 15:00, RBBS, be there.

What up Joe, same course as the last two years, gonna make it to the other side? I'm signed up, but if it's the same old shiite, count me out, I don't believe I need a full face, to ride the same course we hit all year, if you change it, modify trannies, make it worth while, than yes I might be into it. otherwise, see ya at I.S.

Enjoy, my buddy just got back from there, he had a chance to ride some of them before it started raining. Hopefully they will be good and clean, watch out for those boulders and waterfalls.
All this talk about being stoned made me think of something Can't remember what it was though
