When's the next RBBS race? Good question. The kind I like to leave up to a vote. Which sunday out of this month (6th, 13th, 20th, or 27th) would be best to bring out the most racers? I'm cool with any of them, as long as it's dry. Also, I've set a NEW course (the x-course vs. the dot-course if you've been out there since last sunday) that incorporates some variety in cone placement. We could run just the x-course or both the x-course and the dot-course and have a two event series! Hmmmm....... Like I said before, I'm down for any sunday. Let's pick one.
Tony, thanks for the heads up on the UNM ditch. I'm going to have to scope it out this week!

YO! the ditch that runs from UNM hospital all the way up to the G-lot and farther, is freakin dry! thats the first time I have ever seen it dry. They are doing some constuction at the start of the ditch and its dammed off. Get there while you can.
heres a pic of the ditch. But this is an old pic and it has water in it but now its dry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is Arcadia as we called it back in 1976. We used to ride our bikes there, skate all day and eat sack of sliders afterwards!

Thanks for the heads up! I would've been bummed to make the trek to find out the state. The pictures made it look cooler than it is.
I'm definitely going to head up sometime this spring/summer to check out the parks. It look like a heck of a cool scene up there!!

Lenny, I skated the Blood Bowl a.k.a. Arcadia a million times way back in the 70's, before skateparks, and even then it sucked. Its located on North High Street, just north of Arcadia. Its behind the Rax Sandwich place and accross from the White Castle. I went down there last year and its all grown over. The Trannies are raw and so is the surface. Come up for the Parks, Worthington, Westerville, Dublin, Powell, Dodge and others, all within 20 minutes of each other. Skip the bloodbowl. Pointless really unless you are on a nostalgia tour. I have some Arcadia pics that I will have George Myler, a fellow blood-bowler, post them up in a day or two.

Several months ago, someone told me about a ditch called the Blood Bowl in Columbus, OH. I looked it up and was able to find a website (the site was actually about haunted/abandon places in OH). Anyway, I was trying to find it again in the hopes of checking it out in the next few weeks, but can't find the old site. Anybody know any info about this? Directions? Possible hassles, etc.?
Thanks, Lenny Downhill Billies

Jack-in-A kindly turned me on to this bad puppy: Click here for link
Looks like an eminently pumpable ditch. Can't wait till it dries out. There's a little sloped roadlet next to it where you could line up some cones, leading to a drop-in with more cones on the ditch banks. Woo hoo, hurry up Spring!

Got it, this is banks and ditches and not slalom, sorry some days I forget to read the forum headings and just post randomly.
Keeping in the spirit of the forum, I'll be heading to Indian School (it's a ditch) over lunch for a couple of runs if anyone cares to join the fun.
Sarcastically yours,
Paul

GBM,
Me and the fam got there about 12:45 and were running cones til about 1:30 or so I thought, it was then that we found various pieces of paper duct taped around, one to a manhole cover and another to a phone box. Each piece had a message from the West Crew and Chris Miller stating that they had vacated for Rio Bravo because the wind was so bad. We were there, sorta, sorry we missed you. We skated Rio Bravo until 3:30, ran the ditch and set up cones on the bike path. Next week same time? Adios, Paul
