I used to skate a cool ditch/wash out Peck Road east of Temple City Ca. in 1980. It was near a gravel quarry. We had to sneak in We went to T.C. High The transition got a bit vert where the bridge was. The rest of the tran sucked. Fun though. We spray painted Midget Smith Valley Team on the bridge. I think I had a Powell with full trax and Gyros. I miss Gyros

those ramps were banked!

Only one part of his ramp was a quarter pipe, the other parts were BANKED! After I saw pics of that ramp I had a dream that I was sessioning it. But I wasn't jumping over the gap of the Great Wall. Instead I would go up the huge banked launch to the top of the ramp and do a Bertleman slasher grind on the edge of the Wall, then come back down. So, there ya go, the thread DOES fit into this forum, if you have a bit of imagination!

Once again, the "he SHOULDA" squad strikes--AFTER THE GAME. Duke--the first thing you MUST realize--is that this is a NEW WORLD RECORD. Shaun White will probably follow him---(with a Mctwist-to-backflip combo)---in a couple of years--after the first wave of PRC-sponsored-ex-highdivers completely DOMINATES the world vert scene--this is but the first stone in a VERY big pond--and the kid who WILL eclipse Danny AND Shaun--is watching the clip on a continuous loop--somewhere in the world tonight. That said--Danny never really got the props he deserved for all the upsets he pulled off in competition--and my virtual toast is for a lifetime of rippin'--even when it WASN'T appreciated..like it can be now. This isn't about what COULD have happened---it's about what DID happen. Maybe next time there can be an open jam. I'd like to see THAT.(raises glass).

grew up in the high desert in apple valley, we had a very cool and long down hill ditch, with very sharp but smooth transitions, i live in wisconsin now and still dream back in the day when we used steal parking blocks and line the edges of the lip, very fast grinding action...not for the weak at heart, is the old creation stil exist, and does any body have any pictures(old or new).will return one day to tear that s#@! up with my son and show him where i got my surf style from

Enjoy your toast, Winston. If he had run the ramp up the bottom, and pulled a stylish bert at the lip, I could see posting it here.
Nice jump, but... whatever. Next?

Anyone know of any decent ditches or other terrain around the Tucson area worthy of skating? I'll be there over the 4th weekend. Thanks.

Is anyone on this board from Montebello, Monterey Park or parts of East Los Angeles? If so, i need your help. I recently went to the Echo Bowl and found out this spot needs some fixing. The ditch next to it (The Wedge)needs some help also. I am willing to put in the work to fix these spots up. All i need is someone with a car, tools and a lot of heart. Also, if anyone is from the Pasadena, Hollywood areas hit me up. Serious inquires only. Thanks
