Mark --
What up man. Yea the part where it sort of goes vert is fun as $hit, purrrfect. me and my brother went there last weekend and noticed it was remarkably clean for us not being there awhile. . .haha. Glad to see you got out. We havent kept up anything past the gap in a month or two, but its just the occasional dirt the wind carries or dislodges, easy stuff. We might go out this weekend, I will let you know when and what time if we do head out.

area 51
On 10/6/2005 GhostSkate wrote in from United States  (66.120.nnn.nnn)

Yea Mark I was just on the westside a couple days ago, the good part of the run is spick and span clean, me and my brother actually cleaned the whole thing out except for the gap where all the water usually pools up from the leak in the wall. Plus the weed wackers came through and leveled all the shrubbery. Whew its fun as s#@! right now, get out there before it rains

PS the eastside is a little gnar status, theres some military operation going on over there. . .be careful, we got politely asked to leave one day, havent been to that side since. . .He basically said, "guys, if i wasnt here, I wouldnt give a s#@!. So when we are here stay clear, otherwise, you can skate all you want."

Well hit me up when you go out, im down

Thanks,

ABQ, What photo's are you talking about?
I know they can't be mine of the Badlands Ditch here in Cali.
I still have these on my camera & my sister took the one of me.
So, I am guessing the ABQ photo's from the original Ditch link.

Those ditches are in Albuquerque,NM, the best skatetown in the world."

I know, I had alot of fun out there a couple of times this year, everyone got confused with my handle i think.

I thought everyone had seen pics of both so i did not put names by them.

Peace out, are you the JC who is a partner in the skate school in Santa Fe?

I might be by the week of the 17th with K-Lee, out to play in the ditches again that week

Indiana bank riders
On 9/28/2005 Joel wrote in from United States  (63.134.nnn.nnn)

Hey Tom,

I'm not sure if it's for real or not but as I had said I talked to some guys (incidentally from Bloomington) that said they've been there. I'll let you know if I ever find it. BTW I was down at your park just before the official opening. We went down during the week and there wasn't anyone there except some guys paving the parking lot. Great place! Very nice concrete job. I wouldn't say we actually had the place dialed in but we had some fun.

Later,

Joel

The Sandia Banked Slalom Course is set in the Rio Bravo Ditch,
follow the gold dots and you will find it's all about pump.

Gold dots on the bike path may be related to one of the other events.(hint, hint)

Any Indiana bank riders here?
On 9/27/2005 Tom M. wrote in from United States  (164.227.nnn.nnn)

Hey Joel,

I'm just south of there (Bloomington). If you manage to locate that ditch, I'd be happy to test it out. <g>

I haven't done any ditch riding (haven't found any around here). Mainly park riding and longboarding.

Give me a shout some time!

Dan from SJ
On 9/26/2005 -JC- wrote in from United States  (4.240.nnn.nnn)

Dan,
The first ditch with all the chamisa plants is Indian School, the other is the Bear, and no, they don't connect (except that they end up in an even bigger ditch). They are in different parts of ABQ, but if you visit, you can hit them both (along with many others).

Sidebar for Greg Olsen;
Any stream less than a foot wide is considered skate-able, but not race-able. We've done a lot of bank surfing down one side of the ditch before. Unless it's glow-in-the-dark green. We've discovered (through cheese-grater-face-testing) that antifreeze is slicker than snot, and will throw you down!
I do have some Goodyear 8Balls that work fairly well in the wet stuff, though.

ABQ; the waves break both ways.

Hey Wobbly,
Check out this site for your local SF ditches:
http://sflongboard.conforums.com/index.cgi

I just got back from Oregon & had no luck with ditches up there. One guy said there were 2 around Portland but they were small & not worth it.

Area 51 looks awesome!!!
I am in for a cleaning & sesh.
I have also photographed 6 more ditches so hopefully they will be up soon at:
www.brokenmagazine.com

Otherwise lets hit some\__/ditches soon.

Hi guys! Can you help me find a nice place to practice carves, Berts, and most of all, just mellow basics? Somewhere I won't get vibed for slowing up the sesh? Thank you!
