I ride the CX/C1 combo since a few month now.
The truck turns verry sharp and smooth. First I had them mounted under a flat board for long distance pumping, but now I discovered the surfing potential of this trucks.
They are mounted under a Gravity carve 39 with high 15 mm birch risers. Turning radius is around the boards lenght. I love to do some flartland skating on these trucks. You can do some cutbacks and let the tail slide out with ease (74A Moska wheels). Pumping is smooth and fast. I do some carving with this setup as well, Its great for steep, narrow roads. But beare. The trucks feel stable, but higher speed rides require a lot of control, because the smallest tilt results into a turn.
Riding backwards on these trucks is strange, I don't like it, the back steers to fast, then.

I have written a longer rewiew somwhere here in this forum, check for carver cx.

carver
On 10/31/2006 Luke wrote in from United States  (24.210.nnn.nnn)

If all you like to do is carve the streets and surf driveways and pull quick snaps, then go for it. But if you do more all-around riding I suggest sticking to traditional trucks. Gravity Skateboards now carry the new Thruster that you can mount your favorite truck to. Cheaper than the Carvers. www.gravityskateboards.com

bearings
On 10/14/2006 Adam wrote in from (12.217.nnn.nnn)

just got the krown pintail and i love the deck, the big problem is that the wheels and bearings suck. i'm getting gumballs or flashbacks soon, but i'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for new bearings, or if it even matters that much. thanks much.

80mm Kryptos on an Element Shortboard
On 9/30/2006 Sven wrote in from United States  (68.171.nnn.nnn)

I once had my randall 180s on an Element shortboard, the new Helium ones, with 80mm kryptos. Boy did i have to tighten the trucks. What i plan to do now is take some old regular trucks, take an old mini deck i have, cut out huge wheel wells starting from the kicks, and drill some new holes on the kicks them selves, giving me a mini, stable (maybe) speed board. I actually really want to do this, so i have something that's not like 10" off the ground like my gravity with above mentioned hardware (the kryptos, randalls, etc...)

if your ever in san francisco and want some fun hills that won't kill you, take the L muni train out to the sunset district. i recommend rivera street 3 blocks north of the L on taraval. its super smooth, wide with little traffic and a 40 block long hill.

Build a board
On 8/4/2006 Derik wrote in from Germany  (193.7.nnn.nnn)

Check the homemade section. Here are two links:

http://users.pandora.be/Toothless/Toothless/pages/instructions/instructions_index.html

http://www.geocities.com/dpkumph/Skateboarding.htm

Your first homemade will not be cheaper than a buing a deck, because you need to buy some stuff for the construction.

Flex
On 5/30/2006 Marc wrote in from (71.231.nnn.nnn)

Thanks, Maybe something like that without a kicktail and maybe a little cheaper. I don't NEED flex, something cheap without flex would work. I am just running ideas so nothing is set in stone.

Flex?
On 5/28/2006 Marc wrote in from (71.231.nnn.nnn)

I am looking for an inexpensive deck with flex in the 30" and under area. something with shape. I want to throw some randal 180's and 90mm flys on it so it has to be shaped in a way that the wheels are outside the deck width. any Ideas?

I hope this was the right area to put this.

If you make it as far as DAGO, you need to Bomb the Concourse!

Parking Garage
On 4/27/2006 *The J Bomb* wrote in from United States  (206.110.nnn.nnn)

Hey Guys!
Okay so the coolest thing to skate are parking garages. I really recomend to skate some. Find one about 5-6 levels up and just go balls out. They are really cool to carve down and take corners at high speed.... Cool stuff for sliding. Just watch for cars coming around corners, I learned the hard way. Its safer at night. The best part? Most parking garages have elevators at the bottom so you can get alot of runs in without the long walk up.
Peace!

sector nine city crush
On 4/17/2006 skyler wrote in from United States  (163.150.nnn.nnn)

the city crusher is a great board for the city.i would get some smaller wheels for itand some smaller risers to make it a sweet board. It's sketchy to bomb hills with but if you'r just crusing around you'll be fine.
