Kenny, I got word yesterday that I may not have classes this summer...if this is in fact the case I'll be there for sure. As for the course, just make it fast and wiggly...I'll be all over it.
Can't wait

Mike, I saw you are signed up for the Buckeye. We are psyched to have you out. You won't be dissapointed !!! Can't wait to have you out. We'll take care of you and I am sure you will win some coin. The purse will not be as huge as last year. Bring it. I am sure you will. I am setting the TS for the open and you guys (Pros) can let me know what you want. Last years was too tight and short for my taste, but my opinion really doesn't count since I am not a TS competitor anymore. Can't hang with you wiggle freaks. You will love it. Stop by the Gong and let me know what you would like to see.

Current TS setup

Eddy, my TS setup hasn't really changed much in the past couple years. I have recently shortened my wheelbase. I rode 18" for quite a while. Then on day I decided to shorten it to 17 1/2" and oh my...TS was all of a sudden easier than it had ever been. Anyway, I'm riding a Skaterbuilt Maysey model, Radikal cutdown front truck in front with custom clear Radikal bushing on bottom and Khiro white bushing on top. My rear truck is a Tracker Mid offset made by Chicken's fabricator (who does his Indys) with cutdown green Radikal bushing on bottom and Khrio yellow on top. My wheels are Seismic Hot Spots...green in back and yellow in front. Bearings are Rockin' Ron's Ceramic Rockets. My risers are Khiro 10 degree in front with a 1/4" flat under that to boost the height a little. I prefer my board ride higher in front that back. With this setup I can run my front truck loose with my rear tight. The effect is a turny deck that doesn't speed wobble. My rear riser is a custom made of wood deal that goes from about 1/4" in the back to flush in the front. Taking most of the turn out of the back and maintaining the lowrider that I prefer. My grip tape is from Skaterbuilt reminants. It's custom ripped and stuck by yours truly.

DP-I don't know about NM. I'd love to make it, but with this job and school thing I've got going lately I don't know if I can get away for it. Once my apprenticeship is over I'll be able to devote more time to the board, but until then I have to do what I'm doing. I'm still skating all terrain and with my move to San Clemente, I can now suit up and walk to the surf whenever there's daylight.

Hello all... I just moved to southern Orange county and am thinking of getting some slalom sessions together on Tuesday and/or Thursday afternoon/evening. I recently went out a scouted a couple hills out in the Pico area industrial parks. Good for TS and open TS...as well as maybe some slow GS.
Lemme know if you're interested..

Jestah's Truck Rake Questions

I know what you are onto, I just don't know how to articulate it or say it with the correct terminology. However here's some directions to take:
1)The TRUCK forum here on NCDSA - try to get some info from Chris Chaput, Eric Wallgren(Geezer X), or Peter Verdone(PVD).
2)Go to www_slalomskateboarder_com and go to the GENERAL TRUCK DISCUSSION forum or MACHINE SHOP WITH GEEZER X(or something like that).
3)Look up www.peterverdone.com . You can email him, he knows LOADS aboat that kind of thing and made the PVD truck which is basically a rich man's much improved version of a Seismic and worked OK in the front and GREAT in the rear for the same reasons as the Seismic only more complicated, more sophisticated, better feel and bigger price tag. Almost everyone has stopped using them in front, and almost everyone who has used them kept them for a rear truck, users swear by them.
Good Luck- Paul
