Indy Offset....to wedge or not to wedge

Hey Joe, I have used the Indy offset both ways. I also see many guys run the Indy offset flat and only a few wedged. If I were you, I'd try it both ways.
Currently, I run a TTC on an RT-X baseplate on my FatBoy...due to the angle of the kingpin in the RTX, I wedge it forward...taking steering out. If I were to run the RT-S baseplate, which has geometry similar to an Indy baseplate (I think), I'd probably run it flat.

Mike, should I wedge a Indy offset on a Turner Hybrid GS ? 1:3, 2:3 wedge or just 2:2 (= two flat pads); 1 means a 1/8'' high Thanks, Joe

Expect a few cones to be more like a hybrid at the top and then some curb to curb to keep the speed in check and then a handfull of near straight cones at the bottom.
Bring a board that you would use for a G/s course, Hybrid X/l.

No matter what kind of course we run, it would be good if it *looks* waaaay fast, so the downhillers and their audience will be digging it.

mike, gary said 'elements of hybrid'. Is he gonna put some tight cones on that hill?
What setup are you going to use (assuming it's not a big secret)?
Is this a XL/fatboy kind of course?

Hamm, I just hope in 20 years I can come out and school the young guys like Hut...funny you noticed my hand reaching for the 'beam.' That's exactly what I was doing. Problem was...tape switch!
I have no shame, just revenge. You hear that Hut? Revenge!!! : )

Mike, As you know I manned the finish line for the last half of the day. Your finish w/Hut was amazing! If this was a timed race using light/laser beams, you would have won. You had your hands out front ready to break a beam that wasn't there. It was THAT CLOSE. Although I was 85% sure that Hut crossed the 'line' 1st, I am SO glad that Gary had the picture to back me up or I would have spent the rest of my life wondering if I screwed you. I was proud to see your post in the Slalom forum that you are not ashamed of being beat by a legend. Your attitude rocks as well!
Peace

Mike,
What was the retail value of the board you rode in the Slalom cross?
Mr. Popov rode a $700 skateboard in Mississippi.

Wow David... I was so happily talking amongst myself...
There's gotta be someone who can loan you leathers. (maybe me if we aren't in the same heat together? Eli? Mark Johnson? HC?)
You *can* skip friday practice and saturday qualifying and just enter and race sunday. You basically default-qualify *last* and ride with the fastest heat. That still means there at least a couple guaranteed slow guys in there, and who knows? Maybe we'll get lucky? I can only get up there sunday, so that's my plan. Robert said you can get 2-3 practice runs in the am, then race after the slalom event.
He also said they might have heats ranging from 6-12 people?! I was alarmed by this, but Eli just pointed out how wide the road is... so it's all good! 8-)

The Sandia Downhill Challenge in New Mexico is sorta similar with it's 7 mile fun-jam after the downhill, but 18 hills with a shuttle???

i might come down to SF for the race in Mclaren park, if so, would enter both DH and slalom, but that would involve skipping a class or 2 and 13 hours of strait driving....
now i just need some leathers...

Ok guys... I think Clayton was still suffering from jet-lag or something saturday. (I say this with all due respect and admiration, cause I KNOW how fast he can ride!)
Equal 9th IS a good showing in the pros, but they didn't even get a taste of what Clayton can really do!
Get on it Clayton!!!
And one other thing... We sure missed you Mr. Coleman!
