What isy our problem about ISSA.

IS it rule number 1: When your offering Prize money make damn sure you give it away, on the day, like the trophies.

Howard-ISSA rules are really stupid! I would think that if the ISSA wants to make a comeback they need to distance themselves from their past in order to move forward.

Like I said I wish them the best if they plan to promote slalom and not themselves.

Get over it already. There are some guys in Europe that organized or sanctioned races and created a ranking system in the 90's, and they've started to do it again. I know a few of them, and they're good guys whose only interest is to grow the sport.

The ISSA organizers published a set of rules in the 90's. Maybe those rules will continue to be appropriate today or maybe they won't, in which case I expect the rules will be updated. I don't understand why anyone would consider this significant.

2002 was a good year for slalom in the US. We had an active group of race organizers (FCR), start ramps, sponsors, schedules, etc. Unfortunately, this seems to be largely missing in 2003 except for the individual efforts of race organizers such as Jack Smith, Gary Fluitt, Joe Lehm, Andy Bittner, Ricky Byrd, Jeff Goad, Bill Tway and Don O'Shei. Maybe the US races will find their way back into a coherent structure, or maybe they won't.

In the mean time, the European scene is taking form with UKSSA and ISSA, and there seems to be real potential for those efforts to become coherent in the 2004 season. I see the possibility that the European and US efforts will link up in the next year or so, and it seems to me that this would be a good thing.

I have to go now, it will be a few hours before I return, this should give you plenty of time to come up with some type of answers of why you are not using the ISSA rules for your little race.

Stinky Rules
On 6/3/2003 Arab wrote in from (24.24.nnn.nnn)

So at this point we have 5 Euro races with one being sponsered/sanctioned by the ISSA, This race didnt even abide by their own Rules.

What good are your own crappy rules if you dont abide by your own crappy rules?

99-I tried the link to your rules, it came up blank, how can I abide by your rules if the link is no good?

I believe that Gary Fluitt announced 2003 Breck not long after 2002 race.

As for the 2002 Worlds, I believe the rules were stated at the begining of the season.
