That was a fun weekend. My legs were jell-o and I was too scared to charge. I may never get the nerve back, and thats cool.

No worries, Mr. Marshall
On 4/21/2008 Stubbs wrote in from United States  (70.251.nnn.nnn)

Always glad to help out, especially with the Superbowl/World Series/Indy 500 of skateboard racing that is the Indian School Outlaw. I really wish you'd hold this twice a year, George.

@ Kenny - If you can't find those Dr. Scholl's inserts you bought, you left them in our hotel room. I gave them to either Faddell or Racer X.

Stubbs - You are the man. Thanks for all the help and stoke throughout the weekend (my race virgin was stoked to learn from one of the best).

I gotta let all race promoters in on a little secret - The best thing you can do for your race is to have those two burly Texans (Stubbs and Big Ryan) show up. Things always go better after that.

My t-shirt/sticker guy totally flaked out; so no promo stuff yet - but we'll keep trying.

Haven't followed the scene in awhile but last I saw, Mollica had a big, blue leg. Looked like it might finally be over. I think I even heard him say he's retired. A great career who's time has come.
Then I get an email from Seismic with results from some contest and lo-and-behold, Kenny's name is at the top!!

Good damn job

I totally forgot about the Indian
On 4/10/2008 Kenny wrote in from United States  (69.223.nnn.nnn)

George,

I have been working so hard, I totally forgot about the Indian School. The course sounds fun.

I am taking my same set-ups as last year, with the exception of the New FOrmUla
Seismic Speed Vents. Just got a big box, with more on the way. The New Seismic formula is the most advanced urethane on the market. The guy makes wheels for everyone and said these are his masterpiece formula. I cannot wait !!!

I get in Wednesday night late and will take a few runs on Thursday just to get the juices flowing. Its weird to know that I cannot run out the smallest of fall. Its a commitment.

Indian School course
On 4/8/2008 The Marshall wrote in from United States  (71.222.nnn.nnn)

Kenny - congrats - you are an animal - I am stoked you are on the podium where you belong.

The rest of you chuckleheads;

The course is marked in purple triangles. Be prepared to turn.

There are 5 sets of cones in the course that are called "wallrides". They are below the footbridge. They are two cones set anywhere from 75 feet to 10 feet apart on the same wall. The racer must make it over both cones. They are marked with an arrow after the first cone.

If you make it out before practice starts on Friday morning at 07:00 :), make sure you take those cones into account. They are not obvious until you look for them. They start on the left wall (south) after the second culvert past the foot bridge. They end on the left wall right before the bridge at Chelwood Park bridge.

Yes - I know that is 3 set on the south wall and 2 sets on the north; I don't know if this helps or hurts goofies or regulars. It is the course, deal with it.

The last cone before the Tramway bridge is deeper than usual. Welcome to kink land.

The first cone after the foot bridge is closer than usual to the bridge. Welcome to Mohawk land if you come up too soon.

See you on raceday if not sooner. It is on Boyz.

Chris, thanks for posting the video below. I did not post that, nor the comments on the left green banner.

I am stoked to be able to race GS again and am going to Hood River and Sweden if I can get in shape.

I'll second that, dAvO!
On 4/1/2008 Stubbs wrote in from United States  (75.11.nnn.nnn)

If anyone thought he was gonna just go away after that horrific shattered heel incident, you were wrong. Kenny Mollica stealthily entered the contest (I talked to him about 5 days before the race and he made no mention of even coming down to Texas and didn't even use his own name on the registration!) and after a year long recovery takes 1st in the GS right off the bat. Kenny, I am stoked for you. I know you had a tough year, you deserve it, bro. See you at Indian School is a couple of weeks.

Big Kenny
On 4/1/2008 Cliff Coleman wrote in from Brazil  (200.157.nnn.nnn)

Kenny,

Good job on your return to racing! Don't worry about a little extra weight. When I came back to Slalom I weighed about 230lbs. After skating on a more regular basis, I got down to where I am now, 180. Let the skating take it off for you while having a great time.

It's a long way, but you might want to consider Florianopolis, Brazil for one of your future visits. It is beautiful here.

Log cabin syrup
On 3/30/2008 john GIlmour wrote in from United States  (67.165.nnn.nnn)

You are near Dan's cabin right?

I was thinking about getting a sled and checking it out.. I think it is hurting right now according to what I have heard- snow has been super heavy.

Have your Dad sell it to me... I'm a restoration sort of guy. Then Ryder's kids can enjoy it.
