Wont be able to make HP tonight, so pack your cones. I'm off to Cornwall via the Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarf coast and checking out Bude , North Devon, for the race.
Have fun wherever you are.

Anybody going to Hyde Park tomorrow?

Chris, it was kids chucking ice at each other. It happened twice, Ed and I had to clean it up. Paul had an eventful day, ice, me clipping his board etc. I will be practicing slalom in an oven from now on.

I cannot get it off my mind: what was the thing with the ice patches in PPs way on Sunday? A sudden snowstorm no one noticed? Halluzinations? An airplane which unloaded some water high above the race site? what was it?

Firstly, what a weekend! What a fantastic job Jadranko did. We were very grateful for the lift to the airport this morning; facing the trains so early wasn't very appealing! Thanks again. I will certainly be there next year.
It was good to see some faces from the past and the actual racing was quite amazing (Luca is not human!!!). Well done to all the brits, but especially to Paul for his 3rd, to Ed and Nutsack who kicked butt and to David and Sam for their achievements. Michael definately should have won a prize for the bail, having said that, he was fast.
It was really nice to meet Richy and Maria who we had a few jars with along with Michael.
I didn't make the cut but had a fantastic 2 days skating which is what it's all about. Thanks to everyone, see you in Bude!

Well, It's Monday morning and I feel like s$%£$t, why? I spend a fantastic weekend in Switzerland, come back to london and get hit with the worse hay fever ever.
Thanks England.
Jadranko, once again, Sir you are a star my friend, what can you say about a man who, along with other's, organises a two day slalom comp but also spends the morning of the first day of the comp picking up people from the Airport.
There were a few problems with timing equipment, heat and frayed temper's, especially on Saturday due to the long waits between the different classes but you couldn't knock the persistence of the organisers to finish Saturday's racing on Saturday, all be it at 9.50pm!
The after comp party will go down in my own history as one of THE skate related party's I have ever had the privilege to go to. unfortunatley most of the Brits, and Richy and Maria were staying in another hotel in Uster about a half hour bus ride away. By the time they had got back to the hotel and showered it was a bit late to get back for the party. No such problems for Me, Nutsack, Dave and Paul. Me and Paul stayed in the local Hotel, The Andler while Nutsack and Dave stayed in the Bunker. When Me and Paul got to the party Dave and Nutsack were nowhere to be seen. Lee Diamant was there on stage as a DJ. Half an hour in and Nutsack strolls in looking the most wasted I have ever seen him, and believe Me, that's saying something. Nutsack told us that Dave was fast asleep! Needless to say a good night ensued.
A word of advice, when you've got up at 3.45am to fly to a foreign country, do not spend all day skating, sitting in the hot hot sun, finish at 9.50pm, go to a party drink like a fish and then go to bed at 4.00am the next morning! What a result for Me, I felt fantastic, not so Paul, Nutsack looked like he'd been dragged through a hedge backwards forwards and then backwards again,....twice! Dave looked perfectly fine, the swine.
Just like to say on behalf of Paul and Myself, thank you to Jani and his good lady wife for the meal before the party. It was very much appreciated. We'll never know what that orange thing was in the sky!
In the tight on Saturday I made the 16 cut, great until I saw I had to race Luca! Never mind I'll give him a run for his money, I thought. Actually it was a privelige to race against him, as Paul pointed out, " you don't race against a legend every day"
My first run I hit about 3 or 4 cones and was about 4 cones behind on the line. My second run I hit 2 cones an was just past the third cone from the end. In books I couldn't have asked for more. My first run was 15.02, My second was 14.51, I was very pleased with a sub 15 second run. Luca beat Me with a time of some 13. something.
Thats all for now. I'm going back to bed.
See you all later. Edwin

Crashing

I managed to judge my tumble perfectltly...sliding round two cones finally slipping on an offset into Prices path... clipped the rear of his board and then went into a backspin, four or five foot into the air. Landed head facing the finsih line on my back. Maria has it on video, Sam has a still. I was unhurt save for a little road rash on my hip. Moral; wear pads when racing.
Anyone got full results / placings yet?

Hey Ben! How ya' doing? Hope the knee heals well.
Funnily enough, Andy Binns, Ian Deacon and myself were saying yesterday after the finals how much we would have liked to have seen you ripping the corners of the bowl. There's coincidence for you.
I spent yesterday on the platform of the soul bowl. Pretty good stuff. Rune won (as usual), Cab second, and Nicky Guerrero third (after putting together some 20+ trick runs).
Patch looked really pissed off after not making the eight cut. After seeing him jam the 16 - 9 bracket I can understand why.
No Lucian or Danny Webster. I've no idea where Danny is at the moment. Sean Goff didn't skate as well as I'd seen him recently, but still got a respectable 14th I think.
Don't know if I'll make it out to the states this year. Maybe?
