I have a mid-80's powell&peralta saiz that i sometimes use as an all purpose board. gordon and smith trucks(black plasict base, neon green/yellow hanger, extra soft do-do's, i know but they're cheap) the softest purple BDS dub-cons, bones reds, santa cruz cellblock w/homemade 1/4 shockpad, homemade angled riser in front to match, rails and tailbone. hey, wasnt everybodies general purpose board somethin like this 12 years ago?

Really? No one has a General Purpose board. Maybe for when you are on vacation and you dont really plan to do much skating. You only have room to pack one board. Am I crazy? I don't expect any one to give up one board from their quiver. I was just looking for suggestions for something maybe aroung 36" or so that can be used for everything. Kind of like a flash back to when you were a kid and only had one board.
Can anybody relate?

Sheesh, Surfer... Maybe you should just ask us what kind of car we drive? <g>
My "driver" is a '96 Accord. I can fit three longboards, three park boards, a slalom board, back-up gear (i.e., additional wheels, tools, etc.), and all my protective gear in the trunk, and still have trunk space left for a week's worth of groceries.
My suggestion: Buy a different car.

You guys are Knuckleheads... I salute you (ouch!)
One day we'll get down to brass taxes and customize this Turner starter deck that I got from Howard Gordon some time ago. I'll keep it intact and try not to change the way it looks but totally gear it out somehow. Nothing different than everyone else in that respect really, much like when someone swaps out the grommets and adds a couple of stickers along the way. Just that mine would be pimpin'.

Hey, Alan.. Are these your underwear you left here? Or a prototype for a new project? I've left them standing in the corner, as to not offset the shape/form and funkshion.

Sorry no, those aren't Radikals. They're actually chopped down chromolly San Diego's (similar to the G&S hollow bodies from days of yore) I've never really tried to price out what the whole combination would cost. I know that the time put into each component couldn't possibly be made affordable to the average Joe. So nobody really has any of my stuff (except for what I've given away).
There is one guy out there who plunked down some big $$$ for a set of trucks, he got some new one's whenever he sent them back with requests for improvements but lately it's been a while since he's seen anything from us. This is about to change.
In the mean time I'd have to agree with both of you guys on your choice of decks they remind me a lot of what Dimitrije Milovich used to pump out from a missle silo in the mountains of Utah back in the day.
I've got Pleasure Tools in the wheels. It was a scramble to take down the picture of the mold because it turned out to be too large to comply w/the forum rules. I'll put it up again once I edit the link. The wheel that this particular mold makes is a special one that would have worked great in a race like Bicknel if you get my drift.
It's really nice to be able to have all this really cool stuff but it wouldn't be possible without all the great people I've been able to meet through the NCDSA. Without you folks I'd be just another person with hopes of one day getting rich from making all that killer skateboard stuff I can dream up...
...well I'm still hopin'.

I am thinking about the Comet Downhill Spoon in 36" with Randal 150mm R2's and 75a Flashbacks (and Gravity Street G's 90a for sliding and maybe parks). This would be my shorter all arounder.
Then, I also want that Curve Swift 40.
These may be able to hold me over untill I get the Sidlo Custom. Or maybe not.

I think that I would really like to own an original Alan Sidlo Custom Complete.
I am hoping you will make a custom size and shape, maybe a little longer and wider than the current Wicked. It should be designed for pumping and cruising. And good longboard surf skating. Is that even possible? I am thinking maybe 36".
It'll have to have those Nova Offset trucks. How do they work. Are they similar to a Radikal. Or is that a Radikal?
Tell me about those wheels. The picture of the mold is no longer there, but I did see it the first time. What size are the wheels, duro? Shape? What are they good for? A lot, I suspect.
BTW - what bearings are you using in the Wicked?
O.K. How much will the complete set up cost, and what is the wait time?

Alan, the mold is a mere "redX" on my screen..is it the same one those black wheels were cast in? If it helps your cosmetic surgery, I now can sharpen your sand paper. And If you need...remember those slippy things you sent me that were a tad too large?? I've still got them if'n you need for Steve.

Me 'n my big mouth... Haven't made the first cut yet. Taking a moment to make a careful determination so that we get this right. Trying hard to convince myself the this is a lot more like cosmetic surgery but I really have to finish my review on it first. Got 27 other projects goin' at the same time an I can't help but wonder how this'll all work.
Steve: Send me your info (again). I'll see what I can do.
Talk to ya soon Paul.
Don't know if this belongs in this forum unless you look at it as a completely... custom job.

What is it that I heard someone once say? Modifications are the spice of life? Or something close... or else maybe I am adding two and two and coming up with five? HR

Who's wife hired you to start this heritical thread?? One deck?? Are you nuts?? Or did you mean just one deck per week?
Most of the guys here subscribe whole heartedly to the "quiver" beleif when it comes to skateboards!
But if I had to take a trip to who knows where and could only take one board... two sets of trucks... and two sets of wheels... It'd be:
Comet Proflex Park - can be used adequately in most situations Randal 180mm RII's & 1980's Indy 215's ABEC 11 78a 65mm NoSkoolz & ABEC 11 81a 70's Flashbacks
The combo's available with those parts would be ok for lots of types of riding... HR

So you want me to give away the secret, huh? Well the deck is 31" x 8" with the camber is tough to call 'cause it depends on where you take the measurement from. The components are totally custom...
Here's a picture of the trucks (taken appart):
Here's a shot of one of the wheel molds:

Only one, eh? Ditches, Slalom, Downhill & Parks (that's me).
Seismic Al 130mm 45* front, Geezer 135mm offset Rear, Avilas or Gumballs or Manx...whatever, 84-88a-ish (trimmed) front, 76-79a-ish rear.
The deck would be similar to the CYandal 34" or a Bozi GS36 or a 3dm/Banshee...but with a kicktail.
...and no, I'm still not gonna sell the rest of my stuff. Only some of it.
