+8º C and sunny on Wednesday—we hitting the clover, snowplow? The south wall of the deep end should be the only part of the bowl that may have a little ice on it—bring the tiger torch!

If you're not into tranny, and if we do get a chinook (warm winds that come off the Rocky Mtns, which bring unseasonably warm temps), we'll be breaking out the slalom boards and running some cones as well. Lots of us have extra boards if you want to give that a try.

If you're coming to Calgary, the weather has been so-so. Forecast for this week ranges from -1C to -13C. No hint of any white stuff though. There are some remnants from our last snowfall, but they're pretty sparse. Do you ride parks? We might hit Millennium park (after taking the torches to the snow/ice in the clover bowl) over the holidays if we get a nice chinook roll through. Hit me up with an email if you want to session. We can play it by ear weather wise.

hey there, im taking a trip to canada next week, staying over christmas. Im going to calgary, then to regina, saskatchewen. I have no idea what to expect. Is it worth taking a logboard to cruise around on? or will there be nothing but snow and ice!? Also, i heard many of the streets are cracked from the cold. Whats the deal? Thanks

2nd Anniversary Park Slalom Results

Well we had a blast night. Watching some of the young, old and top of their class riders race the clock in the First ever park Slalom race in Ottawa.
The youngest was 8 and yeah, you know who the oldest was, EH! Everyone got a couple of run and a couple of rebates were also given. It was a tough, long course for a park Slalom with the final set-up being around 28 cones. Hardly none on the flats. They were all on banks and tranys. As it was an introduction to many they made the choice of wich side to turn of course one being slower and more coslty in time.
Pushing was required by all in order to get from one section to another and maintain and accelerate.
Stewart Passmore took first proving that his 5th at Rye Airfiled last February was no fluke. He is a smooth flowing all-around skater with a bright future. Jasond Regnier rebounded of his harsh attempt at the first run attack to take second.
Here are the results. Rider,Time, Position
Name Time 1 Position Stw 01:25.5 1 Jay 01:25.8 2 PD 01:27.3 3 jeremy 01:30.9 4 Chris B 01:32.5 5 Leo 01:33.1 6 Mikey 01:37.1 7Ryan 01:37.7 8 Claude 01:39.8 9 Gabriel 0 1:40.4 10 David M 01:46.0 11 Dan 01:46.5 12 Jared 01:47.0 1 3 Tyler 01:52.9 14 Laura 01:54.4 15 Matt 01:56.8 16 Adam 02:15.6 17 Tyler M 02:22.5 18
One Girl, One in-liner and loads of fun. This was our 1st. time using the Trackmate that arrived late for the 2nd Annual Dovercourt Open but we know it will be ready for next year. Plenty of time to get it working with the Beeps and Laptop.
Have safe winter all.

Big Joe:
Thanks for the big pat on the back - it is greatly appreciated.
Personally I think you are racing at your best as well - I think getting out there and running cones on a regular basis is the reason. Your Farm series this year was amazing and everyone involved should be complimented. Hopefully we can get something similarrunning next summer up here - if not I will be driving south a lot.
Joe - it is always a please racing and partying with you!!!!!
All the best,
Rob

We are going to do very well in the future. We simply need to get a scene going north of the border.
The whole crew from Canada fared well in North Carolina. Civ is skating better then ever and as he gains experience the nerves won't get the best of him.

Yah, I actually really wanna hit that up. I have friends in ottawa, I just need to figure out how to get from them to your park. I really dug jamming it at dovercourt, and I've had some time to improve, plus the idea of park slalom makes me really excited in my happy places. :P
