Ottawa would be way rad!
I'll see what I can muster... might be do-able. I'm in Ottawa in May for a school trip (i'm a teacher), but I'll see if I can work something out.
Too bad our country is so darn big eh?

Yep the plan is for the 1st. and 2nd of July. We will be trying to secure a 3rd venue for a GS ot Super G as well.
We are not sure if we will have the park open this year so we will look into some lodging and accomodation info. More to come as we get nearer.

Just a quick note too pass on my condolences to the Gulmick family and to all skate/snowboard bro's at Skaters sportshop,,,,,,this past week Steven "Jay" Gulmick passed away unexpectantly,,,,,,,,Jay was a sales/customer service rep for Skaters,,, we met back in the late eighties, when I joined the first generation Skaters snowboard team,,,,,,over the years I always enjoyed going to Skaters and chatting with Jay,,, he was a kind, personable laidback gent, with a great sense of humour. he will missed by all who knew him. R.I.P.
Mig,, I'll try and get some of the gang out I'll take ya up on the skatepark session and breakfast,,,I'll definitely need my Wheaties to try and keep up with all of ya.
take care all and play safe

Wow! Congratulations Civ on joining Team Pavel!
And Kash, drag Blair and the other Calgary slalomers to the Ottawa race. We'll invade the Legacy Skatepark for another after-race session like last year. Without the head on crashes this time, of course. ;) And this year breakfast is on me. :)

Westside is the one up 17th. Kind of fun for a brief session. The bowl is small and tight but fun.
There's a wood bowl in the NW—private backyard variety. A number of minis as well throughout the city. There several parks in surrounding communities as well several more being built in places like Cochrane and Okotoks.
I've spotted 60 potentially skateable pools with Google Earth satalite imagery—including a clover in the southeast that dwarfs the one at Millennium and a killer 13ft kidney with perfect trannie, 3ft of vert and beautiful tile and cement coping (it's emoty too!!).

Source stores (skateshops? I dunno) aren't closing, the park was closing.
Apparently they're going to try and keep the park open a while longer now.
New hours are 12 till 9.

Snowplow - The lake community has to pay a membership fee for that crap modular park. I believe there's a sign indicating members only—but it's not monitored. Not worth having someone do it. Almost as bad as the Strathmore park.

I don't think you have to pay for Chestermere! It's just a s#@!ty modular outdoor park. Half pipe looks good from a kilometer away (Hwy 1), but it's only like 10 ft wide.
Check out The Source before it closes the end of this month, if you want to try some smaller stuff while you are just getting back into skating.
Online shopping? Try speed-dealer.ca. Canadian, based here in Calgary.. You can probably save on shipping.
