Toronto June 8 Session Update
On 6/6/2008 Tom wrote in from Canada  (76.67.nnn.nnn)

Hey MetroLongboarders,

If it doesn't rain we'll be doing the session that starts at the Lawrence Subway Station at Yonge, and ride downhill to downtown. For those that haven't done this one, there are slow and fast hills, parking garages, school yard banks and refreshment stands along the way. I'll be at or near the coffee shop at 420 King St. West at 11am and head to the Yonge Subway line around 11:15. We should meet others at Lawrence and Yonge around 11:45 for the start.

Tom

Western Canada Slalomers

Hey Western Canada Slalom/Longboard guys, and other areas too if you like to travel. If you aren't already going to the Vernon DH, come out to the Calgary Grass Roots Outlaw at "Conehenge" June 21-22. This will be a very small, archaeically timed (stopwatch) slalom event, including TS, HS, GS and skatepark slalom. Check the Contest Calendar for details....

On 6/3/2008 Tom wrote in from Canada  (76.71.nnn.nnn)

Hey MetroLongboarders,

This coming Sunday, June 8, is the next regular longboarding session. Any suggestions for a location? We have suggestions for some special hills in Scarborough or the hills of High Park and area, or start at Lawrence and Yonge and sk8 downhill to downtown! What will it be? Feedback will determine the decision send or posted Thursday night.

What ever happens, meet at or near the coffee shop at 420 King Street West around 11AM. We leave for the destination at around 11:15, or you can meet us at a yet to be determined location meeting point.

The session after that will be on Sunday June 22, followed by July 6.

Best regards,
Tom

MetroLongboarder's First Session [Toronto]
On 5/4/2008 Tom Browne wrote in from Canada  (76.71.nnn.nnn)

Hey Longboarders,

I hope you all survived the winter in good order. Now the fun starts ...

The first official session of the MetroLongboarders will be Sunday May 11. The meeting time will be 11am at the Timothy's coffee shop at 420 King, one block east of Spadina [Mount Equipment Co-Op building]. We'll depart to the starting destination from there. The first session will be in the Beach's area. The starting meeting point will Glen Manor just north of Queen [blue line on map if you request one] around 11:45.

All following sessions will be every other Sunday. So, the next session will be May 25 ... destination to be determined.

I'll be trying posting all session info, including late updates here at ncdsa.com, toronto.theboardmeeting.net and ontariolongboarding.com as well as sending e-mail via freshpaved.com [toronto group] and my regular e-mail list [metrolongboarder@gmail.com].

Let me know if you'd like a PDF of the poster to put up somewhere - it's about 350kb in size.

I'm open to comments and suggestions for sessions.

Later,
Tom
