Hey! seems you got your s41t together for the skatepark CONGRATS, i will try to go for the opening but i just got a new full time job (thats why i haven't been posting recently) and it's taking up most of my time.

Mia, just call me if you want the board. Could we use the same car for the sk8park opening?

Claude, your board will be CNC drilled by JimZ so it'll be perfect.

CIV, let me know if you still want Kebbek boards and if you'll be at the opening i'll bring them.

Hope to see you all soon.

CBC show airing date/time
On 11/26/2003 Stefan wrote in from (66.185.nnn.nnn)

For anyone who is interested:

The CBC segment we filmed on street luge is airing on Friday December 12 at 4:30pm and Saturday December 13th at 12:00pm. All on CBC and thats Eastern Standard Time.

The episode is actually about "crashes", which we did not know, but oh well....we didn't crash once when they filmed us, so they're gonna have to get that elsewhere.

toronto area hills
On 11/26/2003 Stefan wrote in from (66.185.nnn.nnn)

Mike, are you talking about sydenham?

theres a faster hills than sydenham...but are faster hills further out towards grimsby.

Brimley/Bluffers Park hill in Scarborough (east end of Toronto) is about 1km long and probably the biggest hill you'll find in Toronto (minus the dvp). On a street luge, you hit about 85kmph...i used to ride that hill all the time when i was starting out.

Theres a tight bottom corner that has HORRIBLE pavement...i haven't been there in awhile though, they may have repaved.

the middle of the hill is smooth.....although may be too steep for slalom purposes, if thats what you're looking for.
I considered holding an event there like 2 yeras ago, but figured the hill wasn't worth it. The problem with the hill is that on either side of the road are huge concrete ditches about a metre or more deep. If someone crashes into that, they're dead meat.

I would suggest just using something further west towards burlington/hamilton.

Hey,

I'm going to take advantage of one of the last nights of skateable weather in Montreal and take my stick to the top of Mont Royal Bvd. at the entrance to the cemetary, around 9:00 tonight (11/18/03). Hope there are a few out there who had the same idea.

a whole bunch of nothings for ya'll to read.......
On 11/16/2003 mia wrote in from (66.131.nnn.nnn)

i havent posted in a little while(cause when it comes down to it i have really have nothing intersting to say)....
BUT i can't believe that this post will be the 284th post in this forum.I remember this summer when i used to read other peoples posts in the CAN forum and there were only something like 15 posts in the whole month of august(it only took me about a month of reading all the posts in this forum to actually post a post of my own) , and now people post here almost everyday!!
so i put my boards under my bed(where they live in the winter) and have accepted the fact that it's freezing outside and so i went snowboarding this weekend. it all reminds me of how much i hate winter.
Claude and MB, things sound like they are going great! I'm coming to ottawa on friday afternoon and leaving saturday evening and I can't wait to see your 'park in progress'! I'm hoping to come visit you guys again at christmas, i sold some clothes so i've got a bit of cash for the holidays and i have a via rail credit!
tell Dan and Gabriel i say hi!

Paul the Sk8park is at 335 Roosevelt ave. (Ottawa) in Westboro. Small but should be lots of fun.

Since this is Phase 1 of the Plan we have decided to use a little bit from the movie "Field of Dreams" for Phase 2 however, "If you come, We will Build it".

A break, MB? Yeah, right! Won't that be my Sunday Sk8 class?

Yesterday, Gabriel & I did a little tour of the neighbourhood (on our slalom boards) around the Ottawa Sk8park; some nice little hills though it was chilly - then it was back to sawdust-land and the ramp builders
If the sk8gods are smilin' (and the sun shines today) we can clean the leaves from the parking lot and lay some cones down - yay
(then maybe Claude will take a break....)

Ottawa sk8park and South Park

Mig the Bowl at SouthPark won't be built untilsometime in 2004 according to one of the owners we spoke to while visiting it last weekend.

I do not have the room to build a bowl and other stuff at the present location in Ottawa. That's why as soon as were up and running we will be working towards the fall of 2004 expansion.

This was pretty much all we could find right now with the right deal so we took it and we will just keep on growing. We may have the Website up at around the same time the park is open so i will post a link.

Anthony if your ever up here for a visit be sure to get ahold of me. I've been in contact with Jeff Bozi and he is aware of what's hapening. Thanks again.

As far as the weather well the winds are about 65 MPH or so and it's rain. It's been really weird here for a while now. it was beatiful all day while we were making a few trips back and forth from the sk8park with loads of lumber and gear.

Ian, did you get my message? I'm going to need something for next week. Thanks!!!!!

Hey, what's up with my Canadian brothers? How's the weather in YUL and YOW? When's the turning point from skate to snow?
I want to come ride!!! DC sucks! No where to ride, no one to ride with.....I had to convince Doug that it probably wasn't cool to bomb the hills at 50mph with his baby on his back, so he's out of the picture. I'm outta here! Anyone have a room for rent??

Shnitzel, kick me an e-mail.

Toronto's run in Scarburia

I ran a hill a few times at the bottom of Brimley down to the Marina and park area. You can run a hard righ, a mellow right or go straight at the bottom.

It would be a short race but there are some good whoops where the asphalt has settled a bit.

On 11/12/2003 Civ wrote in from (24.141.nnn.nnn)

We have a decent hill a little west of T.O. That would make a a good spot to race. Its about a mile long and hits 70kph without and aero and not much of a tuck. Thats the only really fast one around that I know of....but I know thats not fast for some of you.
