Good one Pierre...I guess your gonna win all of our races then. I cant belive that I ride a board around thats worth ...
PP gs $200
Radikal front $175
Chicken offset rear $85
Ousts $40
avalons $40
And those are all american prices,.......OUCH! Oh well, that stuff will last for a long time. I dont think I will need to do any upgrades for the rest of the season...at least. I do like to own the best gear I can...my drumset and cymbal collection cost more than all of the slalom gear in Canada...but its about quality and performance, and it costs. Cant wait to race you guys....Pierre we will have to do a board swap and race again too.

Hey CIV, i'm ready to race!
it's not clean enough yet in MTL but it will be soon.

Did you know that there is a 0.10 sec penalty for every extra 100.00$ your setup cost over your oponent's board. haha!

-See you soon.

Cones
On 3/6/2004 Civ wrote in from (24.141.nnn.nnn)

I ran cones today for the first time in 04. The snow is finally gone and we had a huge rainfall yesterday morning so the salt is gone. I got my new radikal dragons claw in the mail yesterday with a load of bushings. I set up a nice little tight course and ran my 21" wheelbase and made it through cones tighter than I ever thought I could. I cant wait for my ts pistol....then watch out. Im talking to you Claude....oh, and Pierre better watch out too. A month an a half away...whose ready to race?...are you?

Take care.

Slalom
On 2/19/2004 Ian wrote in from (67.68.nnn.nnn)

Last night we ran cones in the garage we were going to bring you guys to. Great session except Jim put a cone in a sand pile on my lane for a doubles course. What a cheat eh. He didn't actually do it on purpose.

The motion guys were there and they basically withdrew their interest in helping to organize the Easter Slalom. They tried to sort it out and hit the insurance wall with the city so they pretty much threw in the towel. Montréal is pretty used to big time festivals so they kinda squash the up and coming ones.

We may have to pick an underground set of sites and move around as we need. The Big O is usually pretty cool so we could probably go there.

Claude, maybe you can form a sanctioning body for Slalom in Canada and we will be able to get insurance issues sorted well in advance for the 2005 race season.

Get me back.

Ian

Hey slalom fans! You'll be pleased to hear that Karen H. visited The Ottawa Sk8park today! She attempted and complete her 1st kickturns in many, many years.

All on a kickfliper OSP model. The hoot and holler after 2 in a row was nice and if I could post pics. I'd show you her smile.

Rob, she'll fill you in on the Easter Fest Slalom thingy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mia today it's sunny and beatiful. Tomorow, ug! Cooooooooooooooooooooold!

Hey guys
How's the weather?
There has been alot of posting in here lately, you guys are so busy with all this planning for the season to come. It's great.
I think the easter thing sounds awesome...but i'm curious...isn't there still snow at the begining of April? well i guess not much on the streets, but you never know. I forsure won't be able to make it to Toronto/Hamilton that weekend. There's a slight chance i might not be able to make it to Ottawa either, but i will be there if there is something in Montreal.
I've been skating a bit out here, its nice here cause it doesn't snow...and well -i hate snow. Can't wait till summer in Canada!
Happy Valentines Day

hey civ - we looovvve your enthusiasm - thanks so much for spreading your luv of slalom sk8boarding and wanting to do something to promote our favorite sport
- whatever you feel is the best way to proceed is good - u do the set-up in your own city - the way it should be for this type of tour - that's what mtl. is doing - they have quite the little crew working, i hear
it should be gr8 - anyone else wanna participate?

gr8 things happen ev'ry day

Hamilton slalom
On 2/8/2004 Civ wrote in from (24.141.nnn.nnn)

Mbl, the spot I have here is a bike path that runs between Dundas and Hamilton.
Its not too steep but I love to practice there, good for tighter stuff. Its on cootes drive in Dundas but the parking may be an issue. The path is intersected by MacMaster University, they have a parking lot that would be perfect but I kind of have a history with security there. I doubt they would let us use it, but there are alternatives.

I think we can do an outlaw type event here, without getting the city involved but I may have to contact them anyway. I think we should look into a timer of some sort..im willing to put up some $$. My spot in wide enought for single lane but a dual might be pushing it. If I have time I will take some pics of it and send them your way.

Let me know what you need from mr and Ill do the best I can to comply.

Spring is almost here....
