Had two of the coolest roomates From the Great White North, Mike ( Does anyone know who I am Cividino )and his young slalom student a kid by the name of Chris Barret, the kid was very fast, he was riding a home made cut out hybrid board, that for all purposes intended was very functional. I offered to send him my old Turner GS Hybrid model, very similar to what he was riding. Keeping the young kids STOKED. That is what it is all about. Why Kebbek has not picked him up? Okay so still no regrets from my Stockholm post.

Just the typo. Something like the lick post. Should'a been 11 cones instead of 22.

I'm still not that bad:) Even injured & untrained.

Good Lick to Civ & Chris at the event. We were hoping to make the treck but we are now without a funtional vehicle.

Everytime we've returned from an event this season something has happened to the truck. It's parked for good. So , it won't happen again.

C-you all at Da Farm.

Stockholm
On 7/18/2005 Claude Regnier wrote in from Canada  (64.230.nnn.nnn)

Hey folks I'm home. Tired as hell. Since leaving last Monday for Stockholm I spent a lot of time awake. My racing suffered but my body suffered more. I went into this contest last minute hoping to iprove of some pretty good racing over the course of the year so far.

Overall I'm pretty content with some of my runs. In the Cyber I had to run off at the finnish line and jarred my groin, wich worked itself into my back overnight. On Sunday I was a little stiff and things got worse as the day went on and there was a 3 hour rain delay. After doing quite poorly in the the Tight (2m instead of 1.8) I tried a couple of runs in the Special Slalom.

I could finnish off the now shorter course ( shorter because of water and debris) so I decided to pack it in. I did not run a 30 odd second run. I had had posted one qualifying run in the morning around 17 plus 22 cones. so i just had to clean up the cones aspect a bit wich I felt confident in doing wich were the result of practice runs ealier in the week.

There was a lot of bitching and complaining as usual. There were delays due to rain, timming system problems and heaven forbid racers not getting there s#@! together and being ready to race or lend a hand when needed.

All in all the planned events got held although not in the complete way that they were supposed to. That's Life. s#@! Happens.

To all you Canucks out there you better start practicing hard if you think you are going to compete. For those of you who simply want to beat me. I'm sorry to inform you that it won't be good enough.

I know where I'm at and if that's your only goal. You may want to pack it in. Get going Canada. I'm almost out of fuel.

I'm tired and need to eat and get some sleep. Two things of wich I have lacked for for about a week. Maybe I'll regret having posted this but FYI, it's for your own good if you want to compete at the highest level.

Stockholm
On 7/16/2005 Claude wrote in from Sweden  (213.238.nnn.nnn)

Hey all, Thanks for the good wishes. It's been crazy here. The race on friday was good. I took a little more then a second off my time and even ran it clean for a change.

I had to take it easier on the top section to get around the curve. I'm not much into cliff diving through trees these days just in case of a slip. There was some great racing with only a couple of minor rain delays and they were just sprinkles.

Yesterday the TS was postponed due to rain so we went underground for the Cyber Slalom. Having never done it before I figured I would try and broke the 10 second mark wich isn't that fast but considering my overpower foot start :) (right Civ) I was happy. They missed the time on my second run and I hit the 3rd to last cove on my re-run wich would have been likely low to mid 9's. It was good to finally run one either way.

What's so great is that all these Fast older Europeans are all finding out about it and coming out. It's so nice to get a chance to see these guys that I could only have ever read about and had long thought about not ever getting a chance to see or race.

I guess that's why you have to take life in stride and do the best you can. You just never know. By the way the Masters event at the pool ridding last night was awesome.

Okay time to head out the door for todays events. It's clear for now and we will be trying to run both the Special very, very technical tight and the 1.8 meter TS.

It should be a good day with some great racing. Looking forward to getting home.

See you soon Lindsay and I miss you 2.

Luv M :)
