skatelock
On 2/15/2007 nelsonn wrote in from United States  (67.185.nnn.nnn)

Yeah, the company is called spoonfish and they have two versions. I wouldn't trust either one for keeping my board safe. To safely secure a skate board you would probably need to completely enclose both trucks, and the only thing that can do that is a locker.

lock device
On 2/14/2007 Adam wrote in from United States  (208.64.nnn.nnn)

If memory serves, there was such a device on the market 4-5 years ago. The name may have had 'spoon' in it. But I think it was susceptible to having one truck removed, deck slid out, etc. And nothing is going to protect your four wheels short of a locker.

lock device
On 2/14/2007 nelsonn wrote in from United States  (67.185.nnn.nnn)

Has anyone ever seen a kind of lock for skateboards, something like a bike lock? I like to commute on my longboard, but I don't really like carrying it around once I get to the store/house/school that I arrive at. It would be really nice to just chain it up, but said lock would probably need to some how keep all the nuts and bolts secure so nothing gets stolen.

Camera
On 2/1/2007 William Corns wrote in from United States  (75.55.nnn.nnn)

I have worked with many extreme sports and recreational people looking to capture video. The problem that most people run into is the size of the units and the amount of batteries it takes to opperate one of these units. However, Elmo USA has just developed a new camera that has a built in recorder that incorporates a 2" LCD and records to a SD card. If you would like to find out more please visit our site and look for the ELmo SUV-Cam.

homade sliding gloves
On 11/27/2006 bubu wrote in from United States  (72.196.nnn.nnn)

Yea dudes: F.Y.I. (keeping up to date) I made sliding gloves with straight up leather work gloves (not the "mules") it is the light brown/orange-ish leather with the strong leather odor. Anyway, I used the blowtorch method using a premium stress-free UHMW polyethylene sheet (good polymer sheet off ebay), and it holds pretty well. I only used the gloves a couple of times, but the pucks seems to stay on pretty secure (If I really wanted to pull em off, I'm sure I could). After cutting and grinding the pucks to size, I melted the top surface of the puck and put the glove into position over it's designated place; then I stepped on the glove to give good contact between the two surfaces as someone recommended. One thing worth mentioning, the plastic I got was so good and resilient to stress, that the melted surface was probably only 1.5 mm ... I wasn't sure if it was going to stay stuck, but it did, and it does... it's been at least a month by now, even though I still hardly used em.

Try checking your local kayak store.
I found some 1/8 inch, adhesive backed foam pretty cheap.
They use it to fine tune the fit inside the boat.

just a suggestion...

adhesive foam
On 10/27/2006 Noah wrote in from United States  (12.161.nnn.nnn)

Anyone know where I can get some adhesive foam type stuff for a deck? Kinda like c-block, but not wedge shaped. I'm making a board for a 2 year old and want an alternative to griptape. I know I've seen stuff that's like 16th or an 8th of an inch thick and sticks to the deck like tape. Thanks.

homemade sliding gloves
On 10/14/2006 Grear wrote in from (64.216.nnn.nnn)

yeah man my friends and i always use the blowtorch/cutting board method. it works great. you dont even need pliers. just step on them after you melt it and place it and itll stay. step on it for a minute or two, mind you. ive found that 'white mule' is the best glove type to use. the shiny leather kind rip easily. now the cutting board does grind down in about a month or two and youll have to make new ones, but you save a hell of a lot of money doing it this way rather than buying the pro ones. and ive found these work just as good.

The blow torch works very well. The platics have different melting points but once you see it turn clear just stick it on. Use some channel lock pliers cause the stuff is very hot.

homemade slide gloves
On 10/9/2006 bubu wrote in from (68.13.nnn.nnn)

I hear you can use a blowtorch to melt the cutting board plastic/material onto a good pair of work gloves... will this also work on leather work gloves?

I'm just concerned about the plastic not sticking to the leather surface, as opposed to a glove of cloth/cloth-like material. If anyone has successfully made slide gloves, using the method I mentioned, a reply would be appreciate.
