Waxfoot,
I would be interested in hearing more about travel bags if you were to make them... A plastic hard shell model might be nice too (like the cheapie gun cases) Good luck, HR

Thanks for the input on the bags guys. I think the guitar gig bags would have the problem of being too big where the body of the guitar would go, but good idea Kevin. Dave/Hamm I thought about a tough box as well - checked out the hard cases that they have for golf bags etc.. Not only were they a bit pricey, but I kind of wanted something that would be a bit easier to lug around an airport.... I'll keep researching.

Andy,
As a tender foot myself I really like the support provided by the various leather Vans shoes. I also like the extra padding on my skinny ankles! HR

waxfoot, I just built a box out of 3/8 plywood, hinged the top, and put latches on it that I can put padlocks on. Its so ugly no one would ever imagine the precious cargo inside. Dave

What are some good supportive shoes? I screwed up my feet riding with some bad quality airwalks and riding barefoot. My kick foot is strained from the toes to the ankle.

Alright, as you guys are on the topic of packs, I have a question for all of you: Does anybody know of, or would anybody be interested in a padded kind of travel bag for boards? I'm talking something along the lines of the coffin-style travel bags for surfboards (for carrying more than one board). The closest I've found are the snowboard and wakeboard coffin travel bags at Destination Surf (www.destinationproducts.com). Of course they're too long and too wide for skateboards, but the idea is right. I don't know how much people out there travel (airplane travel) with their longboards, or even if a product like that would be worth it to anybody. As I live out here in the islands and fly inter-island quite a bit, I know I would use something like this. I was just curious if anybody else would be interested. Most long skates are longer than the airlines will let you take as carry on, and if they're going to have you gate-check it, they're just going to chuck it down below anyway.... And when it comes to that, I'd just as soon have it packed away nice and safe where people might not know what it is and thus not steal off with it. Last thing I want to see as I'm getting off the plane is some baggage handler cruising off on my stick. I've only just started to do research on the materials and how much they cost. If there were more people interested, it would be more worth my time to do more research into making them. Input anybody?

Yes, but a longboard would stick up way high,it does hold it vertically, and in a pocket so it can't be low.

Powell makes packs? I wanna see them. I had a powell peralta deck as my very first skateboard. My friend kicked it out in the street and it was run over by a car. I was sad. Some packs do hold them sideways, and it works well if the wind is going the right way and there are no trees. But when your hikeing through the trees you gotta hold your board verticly. I guess my board would be ambidextrius haha
okay, I appologize for this posting and all my other postings because I can not spell. If you have a problem reading it, then thats your loss.

i would never think of putting my longboard in there (as herb said, very unpopular) but when i'm riding around to shortboard spots i just stick the board sideways through the arm straps.

yeah, it doesn't matter who actually makes the stuff, but claiming its made in house when its made by inhouse is kind of suspect, and the idea is that if the grip was just Jessup(which is pretty damn abrasive)packed in a plastic bag, with Beercity logo's printed or diecut, and cost 8 bucks instead of five, that is the situation that should be avoided.I'm actually just using Beercity as an example, they happen to be the company we're talking about,it could be any other "manufacturer".However their old schoolshapes have my attention span at it's shortest;been there, was there for a long time, was there before it was there ,don't really want to back there again.

I don't care if they make it all themselves or if it's done by child labor in a third world country (kidding), the fact is that Beer City product kicks ass. Their 8-ply shortboards have the best shapes around in my opinion (deep concave, squarish tail, 10" wide), and the griptape cuts to the bone and leaves scars, Inhouse or not. Check it out for yourself.

I think they mean everything is done BY Inhouse. My first longboard was a stretch-newschool deck, made by Inhouse. I never heard of that brand before, so I asked and was told that they make alot of boards for other "manufacturers". A year later I saw someone with the exact same board, down to the colors used on the outer plies, the only difference being the "Beer City" print on the bottom...

Hey guys, Does anyone know where I can get this video? I've already contacted Glen at solidskate, and he really hadn't even heard of it. Surly someone has. Even if it means copying it onto a blank tape, I want this video! Thanks.
