Thanks for the info Charles....yea I've noticed that both of those site are carrying their product. I was just curious if they are making any other accessories. With so many people always asking about rails, tail pads, etc. you would think there is a market within the longboard community to support a company making all of these accessories again.

Brian, Crooks does not currently have a web site, but the rails are available at either Longskate.com OR Solidskate.com

bearing press

the bearing press works great for wheels up to 70mm. anything larger will not fit. the bearing remover works even better-minimizes risk of damage-even those that fit tightly in the harder urethane wheels.

Has anyone used the Fluid bearing press available through Longskate.com? I don't usually have any problems getting bearings seated, I'm considering this piece of equipment more for the removal of bearings from wheels with large, hard hubs. Prying bearings out with an axle seems like an easy way to do damage if the hub doesn't give. Any opinions or reviews would be appreciated.

I tried to sell this kind of gloves in here, but most of the skaters perfer to buy a reinforcered leather glove and when it has hole, trhy replace it with another one, my team are the only ones i have seen that uses the sliding pads.
theres nothing like the things you build yourself, you will aleays look them nice!

Nic, you've got the point "then you have to make em look good enough to sell"
Someone in france is making such a glove (ELOURA , a ski glove manufacturer) and they lokk really ugly. I've seen it once as a package with a longboard and a video TAPE. Anyway, as the old lazy fart i am,I'm ready to buy a pair and ride them ......
A good slide glove should looks nice (like the old rectors palm pads) to be sellable.

Problem is their labour intensive and the materials arn,t cheap, then you have to make em look good enough to sell, yet still peform, kind of for mass production like wristguards but is there a big enough market?

slide gloves not liable

Herb, I don't think there are any liability problems with commercial sliding gloves beyond just quality of construction. Sliding gloves only protect the hands from abrasion, that's all, nothing more. They can not be held liable for rider skill or technique.

The problem with this is obvious,a glove that is sold so people can "safely" brake during highspeed runs on skateboards as many lawyers as there are,i don't think there are enough to protect you from the customers, and their next of kin who miss them.
