Can't make it Doug and I really don't need a reason to visit DC. I hope to get there and plant more tobacco and hang in the museum. Please say what up to your fam. Here's an idea tell them your goin for some smokes and I'll pick you up in Denver.
I've got all my dollars on San Diego and kludyVILLE! this month. I can't wait to warm up a bit and have a beer at the Barrett Cafe.
Does anybody have accommodation info? I know there's not much at the hill, would somebody know about the closest rooms? I will give you a ring Kludy I know your the man to ask but if somebody could post up that would be rad.
Is anybody running Seismics anymore? And what about Madrid Speedboards? And Comet, whats Jason up to? Is anybody going to ASR? What's goin on with Venom wheels? If I try to mail snow with dry ice to somebody overnight will it melt or will I get arrested?
see you on top, mc3

That's how they play jingle bells in Vail. It's obviously very festive this time of year up in the mountains.
We are going to be putting on a race in Wash DC on Presidents Day. Anyone interested contact me. Ich bin ein San Diego!

The annoying skier article was about the 20 years of snowboards on Vail. There's still a lot of stigma out there too. Funny that skiers don't acknowledge how snowboarding saved the ski industry. The snowboard market not only accounts for a large number of dollars from riders but skis now are shaped like snowboards. Sidecuts and effective edge, camber, and really bitch'n clothes all come from knuckle draggers. Now on to snow clothes. They should fit, bottom line. HA! get it? Bottom line! The best way to tell something isn't funny, is when the joke is followed by "get it?". Bottom line...I crack myself...get it? Crack! HA! This might be toilet humor! Oh I got a million of em, toilet humor, and that's just what that guy hanging upside down is going to get. A million of em, jokes and dollars. He was the dumb ass who, oh see there's another one, couldn't get on the chair the correct way. I understand his poor kid on the chair was upset but that kid probably won't have to pay 100 dollars for a lift ticket again. And what about the poor ski patroller who had to come and get him down? I didn't see this photo til it was posted here. Sad this is where I come for news BUTT my ass was covered while I was trying to wipe the s#@! eating (oh there's another one) grin from riding pow. Pretty silly to make such a fuss over this butt the skier will be stoked when the check rolls in for a new pair of pants. I would start wearing a one piece. Oh, already do. I get into San Diego sometime this month if anybody's around. Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina. gone riding

That headline is inaccurate. Skiers in Vail have been annoying for a lot longer than 20 years, haven't they?

I decided to support the economy of Chile buy eating a delicious piece of Sea Bass probably caught by Jose's Father...DAMN I can't stop! Ok so all the kid's at Skate School are angels? Ya never think you got someone's brat on your hands. Hey you should see me out to eat? The Olive Garden in Beaver Creek hates me!
Liam thanx for the wishes to eeerbody and just won't ever forget the trips down some really big hillz with you. You've got all the wins I should add. That heat in Peyragudes was SICK! Round that big fast left with you and Budro chasing the Viking I think? But you could see all of France off this cliff to the right and you took us both there!!! SICK! Hope to chase you some in 09 and money is so tight on this end. I hope to get around but without any financial help I will be reading about Europe. Maybe I should get another job... See ya at the top Liam. peace
On the topic of Me on Speed. I took the Swiss Bob and GPS out last night. Here's some quick facts. The GPS is kinda accurate. Garmin Forerunner 201. Swiss Bob stock with a short leash grey in colour. 3 runs: run #1 Practice Pkwy 44.7mph. run #2 Columbine weak GPS signal. run #3 Columbine 55.0mph. I talked to legendary Bobber Skip Marcotte who had prior readings of 49.9 mph but only because the GPS couldn't read any higher, this was 00' tech. So 50mph on the Bob isn't unheard of. The cool thing is laying on your back at that speed you feel like your free falling down the steep drops. On a snowboard or speedboard, compression on my spine sux but this is a head to toe compression. Your bellybutton gets sucked into your spine, your ears are pulled into the hill, and just giggling like a school girl. Now if I've offended any schoolgirls...oh nevermind.
The Bob rox! 3 runs light security, for now. gone sleddding!

Greetings to you Rob and all the downhill cats.. I managed to avoid serious injury, near bankrupcy and finally made it across the pond in 2008. So 2009 is here and i've gotta to sort out so much passport and visa stuff and with a new S.A passport taking 3-4 months to arrange once i finally have the money to pay for the damn thing,my prospects of hitting Europe for the fourth year running are not looking too great.Although i am really gonna push for it. On the bright side,if i don't pull it off i will have time and money to make the U.S,possibly Brazil, definately Oz and hopefully Cape Town again too... Hope this year brings more new talent out of the woodwork.. i can't wait to see more of the youngsters from the States hit Europe as i know so many of them dream of making it over... All the best to you for 2009 Rob...enjoy the snow and keep keeping an eye on those fingers! The idea of you with a very sharp knife is kinda worrying.. peace, love and skateboarding

Please do keep your cool Rob, career choices are best left to chance. Why sweat it? Jose' from Chile' has a career too and that's what enabled him to come to flail in Vail. You got to go to foreign countries this year and irritate the locals there, right? It's all good. Happy New Year, can't wait to slap some ditches with you!
Remember that this forum is expected to facilitate discussions about speed so you should spend as much of this Winter as you can going as fast as you can everywhere that you can.

So uncool of Kevin to post from Brasile. Do you have any idea how cold it is here? Sure, snow's great...I saw a couple photos and posts from you on Coast and just can't believe what you've been up to. You have become a World traveling hill killer and ambassador for stand up. Keep it up and stay safe Kevin, maybe see you at Barrett?
This week up here is nuts. We got 1000's of people from all over the World trying to organize there families into snow gear who have know idea of how to live in the mountains driving to the store and getting in my way while I'm trying to get to work and cook for them and not celebrate s#@! because my head is looking down all night trying not to chop my fingers off with a sharp frigging knife or hope I don't accidentally set the place on fire making a creme brulee for little Jose on vacation from Chile on table 12!
Ok now I'm better. I really want to go sk8 fast down a hill with anyone of my bro's and that's what gets me thru these busy nights in the restaurant. Things will be crazy tonight in the kitchen but I will crack a smile thinking about seeing all of you at the top of another hill out there in 2009. peace

Rob, sounds like you´re having a deadly time up in the mountains up there. I really hope I can swing by one time and shred a few runs with you. That would be double plus cool. Stoked you sent Dubes off well, and hoping that the LA skatehouse will one day become the house of champions. Gonna try my best to make it.
Enjoy a very happy new year up in Vail, and don´t get too crazy (because from what I heard, you´re a professional).

Most people have a unique "tell" or "dead giveaway" as to when they've had too much punch at the company party. "I love you guys". hah ha ha oh. There's drunk dialing and now I come to and there's milk and cookies all over my laptop? Putting on my new Christmas sweater and taking over the World.

That's what it's all about. I mean just brings back that old school feeling of what do you do with all this snow? You play in it! That's pretty to cool to see the progression from front yard jibbing to the BIG hill and the better learn how to turn there's a car coming! Thank ya boys and hope you continue to shralp the gnar gnar. Grab a Swiss Bob from Skip, his is trick. Merry Christmas , thanx for that. Dubes and I shralped the gnar today @ Beaver Creek. Pretty fun to finally stay in front of Dubester on a board. Kid was hard charging on my 168 and was to fun to put him thru his paces (damn kid kept though). Great snow today and really rad to see Brent on his way to live in the house that will generate champions. Ok so Brent, Louis P, theAmerican Dream, and maybe JoshR, maybe Kev, ...not fair ya'll gonna rip! Have fun smelling each others dirty socks and ripping hills all over Cali. gotta nog off big day on the hill peace, I do Love you all, sleep well, see you on the top.

Right back at ya Ethan and you would laugh to know, yes I'm shredding, in 15 degree pow. Out riding my bicycle tonight in the blizzard. Really fun to coming flying into an intersection while everybody in there cars is white knuckling thru traffic. I can put my snowboard on a rack that I've made and lock up at the base of Beaver Creek, pretty bitch'n. Great for hitting the bars also, but I haven't found that chick that thinks I'm as cool as I think I am. Dubes get here, that's it. You know my house is your house. But on Christmas Eve you will have to join me as I go carolling thru the town. I like to put on my mistletoe belt buckle and chug gallons of nog while tracking Santa on the NORAD website. Would you like me to make you some sandwiches? Mail your cards ya'll!!! Gone to ride my bike to the bar and see if I can't find some sad, lonely, woman who doesn't want to be alone for Kwanza. I can't keep waxing my board. peace
