Jimmy you live a charmed life to be able to have GMR and friends like that to ride with.
I was looking at the rider list Cathlamet and there are not only a bunch of groms but now in it's fourth year some past groms could be the next Champion.
Cathlamet Downhill's Boarder Cross last year was a crazy event and this years course will be on a new more technical track.

Calling Huey!! Hey John? You got that sick photo of Tounge putting the move on Switzer last year? The shot you got in Skate Slate with the reflection on Patrick's visor along with your description was rad. Post that thing as the race approaches. It will take me forever to learn how to steal it, re size and then post it.
Wondering if any Cathlamet past Champions will be racing?
Lookout Mt Road is outta hand with bikes, skates, motos, cops so have fun and watch out!
Vail Pass Bike Path (both sides) is being repaved!!!!!

There has be a long running joke in snowboarding...What do you call a snowboarder who just broke up with his girlfriend? Homeless! I have a new one...What do you call a speedboarder who just broke up with his girlfriend? Flying so low! Well I am both well was and is? I dunno what the hell just happened and look forward to the dust settling. Tough times but things have to keep rolling.
Guanella Pass as most of you know is the best road ever. If you can do 60mph toeside predrifts! I can't so the road is fun. Looks like a frontside method but on pavement at break neck speeds. I rode the hill by myself @ sunset Sunday evening. Pretty weird to not have people around to speed you up or slow you down. So many animals up there too and not the kind leaving slide marks on the road. There is a lakeside stretch that hits 55+mph and there's quite a few critters that get thirsty towards dark. Pretty cool how a never before paved road has turned into a downhill playground in weeks. The folks living here never saw it coming. Somebody spent 50 million to pave this monster and it's speed is set at 25mph. I know tailwinds are sending riders by mailboxes at 60+! Good times.
Riding alone can be dangerous, we feel safe with a friend to smile as we make the turn. You know somebody has your back if you fall. To go on alone takes focus and confidence. To get back up is as important as wheels, griptape, or a helmet in our sport and in our lives. Time to get back up. See you @ the top.

Can't wait to get on board. So much s#@! to deal with in life sometimes I forget why I skate, to escape. Ready to revisit those places that make this World tolerable. After losing everything I held close and protected seems like a good time to buy a motorcycle and f#@! off for a bit. Midlife crisis? YES! The cure has always been the friends I've made over the years skateboarding and the places it has taken me. Thank you to those of you who have been there for me to vent and listen. No matter how s#@!ty it gets I know I can call on a skate buddy to take my mind off things and worry about making the turn. See you on the hill, peace

Thank you SOOO much for all of your help in making this the smoothest and most fun SLAP ever! Greta thanks you for your help in the kitchen serving 100 hungry skater in ONE hour out of a small kitchenette AND keeping her MORE than safe throughout the whole ordeal. I want to thank you for driving vans full of stinky skaters til until they could skate no more, and then returning to the airport for the last leg. Lastly you need to know that Max Dubler also posted your epic crash on the Chinese DH on a sand bar in true TimeShip style. Check Skatehouse Media for the footy. Thanks Rob for helping make SLAP 2012 an amazing event!

Nice to see you guys lurk the old ncdsa. I would like to get to your race Marc just to ride and say hi. That track looks like something I could ride but not as pretty as the riders showing up. You've got quite the buzz happening now about this thing. Nice job I know you've wanted to do this for a long time. I rode Lookout Monday with 3 other guys who are fast and talented. I couldn't keep up just because my legs are burning. I have a blast trying to keep up but I'm so outta shape to race. The old guy races or masters class will be the only races on my radar. I think Timeship kicks off the season in May then BBDH that's it for me. I gotta do chores and stuff. I want to ride around here more. Last year was fun hitting Lookout as much as poss. I got to tag along with a crew that opened my eyes to some roads around Colorado. This place is bitchn enough to keep me happy. The racing is pretty crazy now. Everybody in your first heat now can be a former winner of something. Good thing I'm drinking coffee instead of whiskey, I feel the grumpy old guy coming.
Last years old guy heats at BBDH were awesome. We had Wheeler, Fluitt, Cooper, Tad, names I forget but all the old guys were charging. I look forward to that race and maybe some outlaws around here. Cathlamet for sure and maybe Deano will have me cook at the Ladies Freeride. Crossing my fingers for that gig. Marc, I am available for announcing your event as well as children's parties. I just need a plane ticket and some beer.

So the SIA Tradeshow is in town and that means ski/snow companies from all over the Globe are strutting their wears? wares? Anyway this is the big snow show with eerbody and last year seeing Arbor, Never Summer and Libtech with skateboards made sense. Last year Dregs had shared space with the Indo Board but this year Biker seems to have the both to himself and brought even more boards. New to the show this year; Landyatchz, Sector 9, and Concrete Wave. So I guess this longboard thing might take off. Just walking around I ran into one of Maytum's boards on display at a tripod or action camera mounting product. So this guy whose hocking gear has photos of Zak bombing hills hanging in his booth. The show is of course for the industry types and nothing is really for sale unless you need to order a shops worth of beanies. It's got this mall filled with all my favorite stuff feel.
XGAMES this week! Watch Del Bosco go fast in the skier cross! Get ready for Spring! BBDH coming up! Marc Dean's gotta race on the East Coast this Summer that looks pretty sick. http://ilovedh.com/

Happy New Years and all first just to get that out of the way. Christmas round these parts was busy and kinda blurry. Skate related presents I got a set of Bones Reds, pretty sick. I haven't had a new set of bearings for a long time and you need to give me something Christmas morning to play with or I will have one of my tantrums. I also received Ween tickets for New Years Eve and that might also be making things blurry.
I got to use my new bearings NYE day for an outlaw race. The race hill is a long drafty usual top speed high 40's. I know the run well after being beat many times by pushing out in front and becoming draft bait. I brought 3 setups all carbon Skuntech's with Randals, Radikals, and Kahalani's with Flywheels 76mm to 97mm. O and a speed suit. So I was ready for anything but the 85mph winds! No s#@!! Towns around Colorado were shut down as well as many ski resorts. A man was killed by a branch flying thru the windshield of his car near the hill. The wind was like nothing I had ever seen without a funnel or BIG waves. AND it was a tailwind! HAHA! You can't get out of your car without leathers and a full face. I watched a couple shuttles go and prepared for a run when Maytum and the Vanum showed. Me, Dunmall, Maytum and Justin (how do you spell Rouloeoo) took a few runs and they were every bit of 65mph with uphill foot breaking at 50 mph. REALLY! We was having some scary fun running out of road. So speed suit was in effective and then offered no drag trying to slow down. On a shuttle to the top I asked about the riders meeting and was told the race organizer hit 75mph got scared and cancelled. That is such an awesome story. I have never heard of anything like it. First the 75mph part...My gps couldn't get a signal and the first number I saw was 52mph. The driver quickly told me screw your gps I was trying to keep up at 60. When I saw the gps I knew it was wrong it felt like eer bit of 60+. I was rolling mid 60's, the rest of the crew figured out a much better start by just standing up, pushing killed me. The scared part is probably true. I think I saw 3 people in leathers. Most of the kids had boards suited for bike paths, hairpins and slides, so there was just scary looking runs with big wobs. Not only did you need leathers for the hill, but just to stand outside. I think there was at least one car window blown out and plenty of car door hinges thrashed (sorry Zak). At the time I was having fun and racing would have been insane. I try to be a rain or shine kinda racer so it was strange to leave only because of a deadly tailwind. Glad there were a couple young kids on hand to talk some sense into me.
What a fun Holiday. Snowboarding with Rick Kludy at Vail was so rad. Thanks to my friends and family for hooking us up with lift tickets and the time to go. I'm going to go surf the net to see if I can't find some of that race footy. Happy Tuesday.

Jimmy you just made McKendry on Speed the most active forum on the O'l NCDSA. I think this is a first but not sure cause I'm not on this site very often. I was talking grandfathers and grandfather clocks with Kyle Wester (Kyle is one of those guys who has gone 80 on Rist just cruising) so I had to tell him the story of your BIG clock and snoring dogs. Ironically another "fastest skateboarder in the World" was trying to catch some zzzz's on your floor that night. I think I tell the story of you and Eye catching air in the BMW at least 3 times a year. I should save it for the holiday and tell it here.
I need a new helmet and not digging the one size fits all predator unless my head is like cinderella's foot. The POC lids are calling me but just don't have the coin.
Thanks again Keith @ RADIKAL I got all the parts to set up a good set but gotta get the spherical outta that plate! Time to overhaul the set up.
I walked into Zumiez the other day they must have 75 longboard completes. scary on so many levels. Can't wait to see all the new scabbed up faces.

Joe I heard about your 50 @ 50 and that is really quite an accomplishment. I'm now 41 and just putting my leathers wrong could hurt my back. Get up here to Rado and we could get you up to each of your next milestone runs...60, 70, 80? I just got back from a trip to DC and Northern Virginia to visit the fam and celebrate my Grandfather's life. It is still hard to not bring a board for every road trip but this one was all about the fam. My Grandfather was honored and put to rest at Arlington National Cemetery after his service during WWII, Korea and secret missions later in his career. It is tough to put into words how the military takes care of us and their own and if ever in DC, Arlington will put a new perspective on just how life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness should be recognized everyday.
I was able to say hi to the DC Downhill crew and did a lap thru Adams Morgan site of the original DC Downhill event. Anthony Smallwood and Dupin always make me feel at home and thank you again guys for being there for me. And to those of you who may have been at the inaugural race the Toledo Lounge is still there. The hillz around Charleston West Virginia are amazing! like scary big gnarly MUST be investigated. They were laying freshies on the north side of 64 just crazy, so steep it didn't look like it was made for cars. 2 days of sunshine round Denva before the snow comes so get your Lookout on now. see you on the hill
Wow I never touched on Paul Kent stopping by my house with a big cardboard check for 15,000!!! They need to bring some of that push race money up to Leadville Colorado paved bike path at 12,ooo feet. And Mischo!?!?! awesome that Tuetonia drama was rad. Enjoy the victory buddy. Those riders are true gladiators.

Good to hear that you have faith in gravity, skating, your girl, and the hope of employment. I turned 50 last month and made a point of testing my faith by going 50 mph and doing a 5-0. Check the video on TimeShip TV. I thought of you and all of my contemporaries keeping the faith that we can continue to enjoy this sport we love. Good job Rob!

So this is cuming from my phone so please excuse any mis spellings or you may sense I have thrown this thing across the room. I started working @ a temp agency this week as a cook and this gig is you get moved around from job to job chopping cooking cleaning. So the first job they asked me to take is at the school of mines in Golden CO. During my months of unemployment I have been riding Lookout Mountain aka BBDH to keep my sanity. For those of you who dont know The School of Mines is located in Golden at the base of Lookout. So I've been driving out there already to skate now I can work a few hours too! I cant park @ the school and there is no parking in Golden so I park at Lookout and skate in. You can see the road from the kitchen window and I just ask a coworker to drive me to the top on an hour break.pretty sick. These guys now know I skate down this hill and can't wait to drive me up! So this week 20 dollars spent...10 dollar shoes (i had none to skate in) 9 in gas. Totally broke and slaying it. Oh my girlfriend rocks! Making sure I get my skate on. Well time to go catch the sunrise on Lookout before work.

on this and blog (not much of a Q&A) but the kid has gone back to school and doesn't share the computer. Cathlamet this year was better than ever! Finally a boardercross and big air event. Sick. Switzer and Tounge dominated with about 10 other guys who could have claimed victory any run. Will 4oyce was killing it. Morrow, Robin, Dennis, Bones, Mitchell, Martin, 50 Cal...and the list goes on with so many new sweetmeats. The day for me is spent hiding from children or throwing things at them. One kid looked at me and said "i've been here all day and you haven't given me anything and you know it". Love those kids. I hope to find a photo of me trying to have lunch.
So another accident on Lookout. 37 year old man, father ran into a motorcycle. His name is Mike and I hear he has broken ribs and a collapsed lung. I dont know Mike well and as with any person who might be involved I hope everyone can move on healthy and safe. I dont know the circumstances yet and shouldn't say anything...BUT! I went up to Lookout 2 weeks ago to ride by myself and while driving up saw 3 riders coming down with a line of cars behind them. I knew they where going to get busted and I wasn't going to have the runs I expected. Mike was driving shuttle for the kids and I took a run with them. We had very different skill sets and one of the kids was lost for a while because he rode past the run out. The cops showed up along with another random skater taking runs while we all got an earful about how unsafe skating is. There are many details Im leaving out. And frankly i think im wrong for mentioning this while a son is worried about his father in the hospital. BUT! Lookout is no place to learn how to ride. I still dont know if maybe Mike had a wheel come off or a squirrel ran out in front of him. I know from the trip I had with his posse that they were still learning how to ride the hill. I dont know Mike. We rode together a couple times and maybe im way off here about mentioning anything BUT Lookout will be interesting to watch as to how they try to stop these unfourtunate accidents.
