RE: HUSBAND SKATE BOARD FOR BIRTHDAY
On 7/23/2006 Calvin wrote in from United States  (71.13.nnn.nnn)

If your hubby is old, but him a " Sector 9 (that is the brand name) Luke Nose Walker (that is the make or model of board). They are inexpensive about $150 bucks, and very enjoyable. I am 27 years old, but I will be riding mine until I am 80. I could see an 80 year old guy riding one, they are not difficult to control, that and if he wants to become one with the pavement again, they are awsome for downhill, many people would argue with me, but I prefer the Luke Nose Walker for downhill, the extra length gives you added control with a wide stance, and you can ride them one footed because they are so big, you can even walk the nose on them, I like to surf too, and it feels like surfing to me, except I live in Michigan, so when I surf, it is usually freezing out or in a blizzard, so the skate boarding is definately much warmer, and whatever you do, BUY HIM A SURF BOARD, even if you live in the midwest, you can drive to the great lakes, and if you live close to the ocean, even better. NOAA has a website with buoys for reading wave reports, so you know when the surf is up. If he likes skate boarding, then he will LOVE SURFING. That and you get to go to the beach, and eat nacho's on the beach and stuff like that. Peace.

MICHIGAN
On 7/23/2006 Calvin Waid wrote in from United States  (71.13.nnn.nnn)

I live in Prudenville Michigan (middle of nowhere) I travel all over the state skateboarding downhill and surfing (when the waves are up). Anyone else from Michigan into this stuff, email me, anyone looking for a great spot to downhill skateboard, Cadillac, Michigan has excellent short rides all over it, fresh pavement, etc. I surf the great lakes too, so if anyone knows for sure the waves are big enough, and wants to head out that day, I will be happy to meet ya anywhere, I have another buddy that goes with me, he skim boards though, he is going to start surfing too, but we are looking for people to party with and skate & surf. I just moved back from Daytona Beach, and most of my friends moved away, or are ex-girlfriends that are forbidden to talk to me.

Hills in H-town???
On 7/12/2006 Shredward C wrote in from United States  (69.153.nnn.nnn)

Hey, Jaybyrd text did not give way to your knowledge of the H-town scene or the folks you knew. I enjoy the scene there for many things but hills is not one of them. It seems you can fix a flat chest but geography is a whole diffrent subject. Weren't some of the first implants performed by surgeons there in H-town? If so i can see where some of the inspiration came from. Ha.

Can anyone clue me in on Austin hills to have fun on? I tried Delco but there's all kinds of nasty legal signs telling me to get permission and it messes with my "inner peace". Thanx y'all!

I am in eastern WA but travel to Seattle to ride with the rest of the Ratz. Contact me if you want to know more.

Houston
On 6/6/2006 jaybyrd wrote in from United States  (64.219.nnn.nnn)

Shedward,

I appreciate the info, but I've known about the Surf House back in the 70's and lived close to EZ7 and the Meat Grinder for some while. I see Mike Niemann and his son Mark at EZ7 sometimes. What I was looking for was some more DOWNHILL spots. Since I posted last we have gotten together a nice little group and we hit up as many garages and a few hills out in the Tomball area.
We have gotten alittle more organized lately, we hit this 13 level garage which has insane sprrd every other Sunday. ( to throw security off )
We have started a group called the B.O.M.B. Squad ( Brothers On Mixed Boards ) our moto is "If you see us rolling, Try to keep up"
Anyway any one in the Houston area interested in bombing garages, hills or anything esle that needs it just contact me @ 832-978-4796

Hey all. I live in the Toledo Ohio area. No one to ride with except my buisness partners. We own a small Longboard company that has some post on here, we are called Flat Land Boards. We make boards sell them and ride them. Hit me up with an email. I wan't to ride wether it be in toledo or in michigan. Talk to me please.
