Ignore the last post, I bothered to find the first post.
Last time I travelled with Stridey from one park to the next we HAD to stop for provisions of the Ginsters variety, and was it IRN BRU as well mate?
Hardcore training regime if you ask me.

Thanks Sam! I always think a little of everything does ya good.
My trousers keep falling down without assistance, (unlike Sams) and so I'm wearing a belt now. The diet SEEMS to be working, I havnt weighed myself, just going on trouser size.
Tried to drink a cup of reral coffee yesterday, couldnt manage it.
No sugar, or bread....but a beer a week isnt too bad. And a pasty.

Skated yesterday with Jon form Essence a bit of slalom in the car park. Just a little exercise. After all The Great Escape was on the box yesterday.

Drove back from Cornwall, and stopped for a Mc Donalds, damn me if it wasnt 'two for one ' on Quarter pounders with cheese. Bad move.

Spent Monday resting but Tuesdays HP session was a good workout. Ran today, and did a ton of situps.

Getting fitter bit by bit.

Went to Cornwall for the weekend, and met up with Sam Gordon who was staying at Rock. My chums were surfing at Perranporth so Sam and I ventured into the sea to be batterred by tourists.

Great fun as for 30 years I had been phobic of the sea, only entering the water earlier this year and this was the first time in UK waters.

We celebrated by eating a pasty (Sam has pics).....

Sunday was spent checking out an amzing hill climb with the Fal Town sliding boys. Twice as long as Gurston. Amazing. Later went to see Johhny X and his lovely dog. Long drive back....

Two people said I had lost weight....so I'm going for a run later today top celebrate.

I need a new belt.

Nice course last night, the more effort you put in the faster you popped out...

A ton of people getting in the way of the cones...ah well.

Good to see more begginners too. We all must watch out.

Had to leave pub after a half of beer, to see someone, but felt healthier for it.

Katii,

You guys really must head on down to Brand Hatch on the 3rd and 4th of September. Not too far from London, it's a really great place to skate with quite a hill but a good flat and grippy surface, so no worries.

Most of the regular Hyde Park skaters will be there and its a very informal, easygoing event, typically run on 'jam' format ie: you get to skate until your legs fall off.

Ian, if you could demonstrate:

Soundly done. Thankyou sir.

Maybe you could combine this event with a trip to London.

London skating is predominantly either on the flat on weekday evenings in Hyde Park or on the gentle slopes of Crystal Palace at the weekend.

Being a local, I'm not up on accommodation, but I believe that the Picadilly Hostel is pretty popular, as is the new www.easyhotel.co.uk in central London.

Let us know what you decide; I'm sure that we can help with transport/ boards etc.

Hope to catch up you soon,

Sam

Ankles/Ankers
On 8/14/2005 Michael wrote in from United Kingdom  (80.47.nnn.nnn)

Spent Friday dashing here, there everywhere. Visited customer/chum Paul Ankers who happens to run a rehbilitation clinic. He took up surfing and skating AFTER losing his left leg below the knee, so anyone with any pains or aches needs to look to him for inspiration. Its the absolute determination and belief that all problems can be surmounted, Paul tells me the big problem is lack of flexibility of his sole, which makes repositioning stance whilst in motion difficult. (www.bulldogsportsrehab.com) . Chatting to Paul for a few minutes showed me there are so many ways to improve fitness, and also balance. Interesting guy.

Went for a gentle run, still watching food intake. No McDonalds for a month. Or wine gums. Sushi for dinner last night. Its all gotta help.
